Filmed in the middle of a blizzard. There's a beautiful silence at night when it snows and I felt inspired to record this song. No guitars were harmed during the filming of this video! I filmed this with a really cheap fully laminated guitar so there was no wood to be damaged by the temperature change. It was freezing cold and the winds were howling so Maple stayed nice and warm inside while I filmed this one alone :)

Sound of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel
"Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence
In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence
And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence
And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said, the words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls
And whispered in the sounds of silence"

For future reference experiment with rotating your camera inside the guitar because it can capture the vibration of the strings. The vibration speed is faster than the picture which is taken from one side to the other so you can get a squiggly string video, very cool.

"A Fathers Silence" The man knew his life was not worth his children's as he sat there on that log, the sun in front of him lowering as it turned to night. The dusk might have been beautiful the way it fanned its yellow rays across the mountains as it slowly faded. His children covered by his jacket he took off earlier to keep the cold winds and flurries of snow off them. The only thing he had left, was this guitar. The one he got from his father long ago. Thinking back he knew his father would have done the same. He chuckled as he wondered would he be proud of the man he had became, but that was then and this is now. He noticed his children's silent crying from the fear they had of not being found in this blizzard and cold biting at their toes and faces in this world of white. This blizzard which has lasted for the last three days. Thinking for a awhile as the thoughts were already becoming sluggish from the cold he could feel biting into his body. He picked up the guitar and played. He knew nothing of the tune he played but he did play, from his soul not for his own safety but for that of his children. He played to let them know he was still here for them, no matter what life brought them even now in this moment he was there. As the light slowly died from the waning sun and the blizzard beat down, winds blew and ice formed. Soft notes could be heard, Not ones of sadness or loss, but of hope and love. As the snow softly piled onto him the whisper of the cold he could have felt before gone, even with fingers he no longer felt, he played. His warmth no longer came from anywhere else but the love for his children and his hope for what they could become. These were the last sounds this father would play to the world and his kids, and he knew it was his time to go. So he played softly, silently as the night drew near, because he knew after was nothing but the sound of silence.

This is your first video that was recommended to me about a year ago. I kind of blew it off as being hokey. My apologies, I get it now... Then just a week ago the video "What a wonderful world" came to me and introduced me to your sweet girl Maple. She captivated my heart and has brought me great joy by watching past videos. But along with that joy comes the sadness of knowing she has left the life she shared with you and your followers. I feel your pain and now I'm crying again as I think of her sweet face and the way she looked at you. You were both so lucky to have each other and experience unselfish love. May she remain in your heart forever. Peace be unto you 🕊️

imagine it's late at night and the snow starts to fall in heavy sheets. You are tired from a long day at work and decide to surrender to the comfort of your bed. Before doing so you open your window just a crack to let the fresh, snow stained air in. That's when you hear the melodic picking of a guitar. You think you are going crazy but are too tired to think much of it. Your eyelids grow heavy and you sink further into your sheets. The sound of the guitar singing you to sleep like a lullaby, the sound of sweet, indescribable silence.

"There's two things left in this cold world, boy. Surviving and dying." The icy and uncaring words dug into his head like needles and shards of glass. The condescending tone of it stuck itself into it's brain and seethed it's poison into his head. He hadn't thought of his father in years. He had no idea of where he was or how he was, but all that mattered to him was those final memories of him. Perhaps he was right. He wouldn't have been here if he heeded it. His fingers wouldn't be flaps of skin with bloodied bone from the frostbite. His only current possesion wouldn't have icicles clenching the breaks in the wood. He probably could have been happy, he probably could have done the all-important survival. And so, like a soldier stepping out of the trenches and facing the army of guns pointed at him, he gripped the neck and sat the body over his lap. Maybe his father could see him now, maybe not. Proving him wrong didn't matter anymore. He plucked at the strings. Despite the cold, the open notes still warmly sang out clear as day. The last of the skin from his fingers peeled off and lay over the nylon. And for two minutes, there was a third thing left in the cold world. Surviving, dying... And thriving.

That was it. Ever since the plane crashed, he was left stranded with only the small amount of food in his rather thin coat pocket. Only a few had survived, they told him to stay and watch over. And the other few went off into the steadily increasing blizzard. They never returned. The freezing, dying, lonely man picked up his hardly scathed guitar from the blackening snow and set out to find the other few. Soon- Night fell. And along with the bitter darkness, came the bitter cold and snow. The mans legs were giving out. His hands were freezing- Turning blue and raw. He was sure his whole body was freezing. He couldn't process it. He knew there was no hope. No life left to live- God it wad the end. The man sat down in the piling snow and tentatively brought his guitar in front of him. His most prized possession. He had it since he was a child and never left it be. There in the ever darkening night. Abandoned and alone- He racked his brain for what he had to remember. Then ever so softly. He played this song- The song that used to bring him so much peace and tranquility will now be the last thing he ever heard. His fingers plucked the silver strings- And as soon as the ever familiar sound of song emitted. He could feel his body warm. His spirits lift- And his pain fade. The man finished his song. His head was finally clear. He didn't have time to worry anymore. He held his guitar close and lay back in the snow. The snowflakes fell quite calmly- Odd for a blizzard. But with the song fading slowly in the mans brain. He gave his final breaths, and lay peacefully in the snow with his guitar held close. Abandoned and alone meant nothing to him now. He went peacefully- With everything he had to wish for. He left in The Sound Of Silence.
