    Thank you for this video. I see that your Hole in one clicks so easily at setting of 70 mph. I have a swing caddy and use it exactly the way you have explained but I feel a lot of strain for it to click beyond 60 mph. My wrists hinge properly and I even use power from the ground up but 70 is a no no.

  • @Easiestswing

    @Easiestswing

    That’s fine - we are all different and so if 70 mph is faster than your normal swing you need to bring it back until you are swinging easy. Once you have it clicking easy gradually move it up a tiny bit at a time over the course of several weeks. This is a great way to learn to increase your clubhead speed without strain.

    Brian saw this happen with golfers for nearly 60 years it was the only device he ever recommended. It is very likely to help you increase your distance. Most everyone we know who buys one uses it regularly for years and years.

    I determine value off multiple factors, but one is how often I use something. I can honestly say that I swing my Swing Caddie more often than I swing any other club. I may swing my wedges-6i more often in total, but it would be close.

  • @Easiestswing

    @Easiestswing

    4 ай бұрын

    I think it will be fine with a larger grip it is the feel you get which is more important than the numbers on the scale anyway and they are not too accurate anyway (maybe 5-10mph faster than they indicate ie 90 on the scale is close to 100) suggest you ignore the numbers and find a lovely rhythm where you can easily make it click just after impact.

    Try swinging it one handed - try each one in turn take all the effort out and swing easy even if the setting is really low you will start to feel the release of power through the ball instead of in the forward swing. Experiment with this and you will find your way. 👍

    I recall Brian suggesting that the Hole in One required a higher basic swing speed than the swing caddie. I d prefer the shorter indoor option but I’m on the cusp regarding driver/7 iron distances. What to purchase,?. Any thoughts

  • @Easiestswing

    @Easiestswing

    3 ай бұрын

    I think you would be better to get the Hole in One as the scale is relatively unimportant and you will be able to get the same results as the Swing Caddy even if the setting is fractionally different. Although the two devices are slightly different in feel they both produce the same results in terms of developing feel, rhythm and speed. The HIO is a bit more versatile due to being able to use it indoors. Hope that helps.

  • @donjacobson818
    @donjacobson8184 ай бұрын

    Brian said in an earlier video to pay no attention to the settings--the scale was completely mis-calibrated. He even talked to the manufacturer about this to no avail. That has been my experience as well. Yet I am surprised to see you set at 70--I am completely relaxed yet there is no way I could get it to click at 70. I would appreciate your comments about this.

  • @Easiestswing

    @Easiestswing

    In hindsight I should have mentioned that the settings are not accurate as you say Brian (and I in more recent times) have complained about this but they are not going to change it. The actual setting is irrelevant as it’s about finding your own easy setting. Bear in mind for me 70 mph is 40mph less than my full speed so if someone normally swings at 90mph they might adjust to say 50 to achieve the feel I’m describing.

    I’d welcome your opinion on this Phillip. I suffer from a bad back and have found that using the easiest swing method has eliminated my back pain, which is great. I am also hitting the ball further with less effort, which is great too. However, in order to get the click I feel that I’m flicking my wrist at the bottom of the swing, I guess a bit like cracking the whip. What I am now finding is that my left wrist is aching. Is this flicking motion correct or am I doing something wrong? Thanks

  • @Easiestswing

    @Easiestswing

    4 ай бұрын

    It sounds great in the respect of losing the back pain and increasing your power but a “flick” sounds a little extreme. As I mentioned in the video if you dial down the power on your SC or HIO and concentrate on rhythm and getting the click through impact that should take the strain off your wrists. Please let me know how you get on but well done so far!

    I have hio and have practiced with it all winter. Now, when practicing with my clubs, I hit way behind the ball. I have been hitting the ball with good distance but no control of where it may go. I still hit behind the ball with all my clubs.

    Try some small swings with a club on a mat and see if the club strikes the mat to the right or left of a point level with the centre of your stance. If it is to the right (and you are right handed) it is a sign you haven’t shifted your weight enough onto your front foot. Once you get the feel of this it should correct your fat shots as the club will then strike the ball before you hit the ground.

    I have used the hio for a few months. I started getting hurt in the downswing. The middle finger on both hands started getting hit, right by the fingernail. It got so they both started bleeding. Have you heard of this before? It is doing it when using my golf clubs now also. What can I do? The harder I swing the worse it is.

  • @Easiestswing

    @Easiestswing

    No not heard of this particular issue before. I have a couple of suggestions: first try the Vardon practice. In this you take all the fingers off the club except the thumb and forefinger of both hands make some gentle swings with a short iron and eventually hit a few shots like this. Vardon recommended always warming up like this. Second try holding the club as loose as you dare (make sure there’s no one nearby in case it comes out of your hands) to find out if you can hold the club more gently. Make sure you are holding it loose all throughout the swing.

    Does the Swing Caddy speed settings translate close to actual driver swing speeds? I can get mine to click at the 110 mph setting, but my actual driver speeds are between 92-97 mph at best.

  • @Easiestswing

    @Easiestswing

    Our one complaint about the device is that the scale is not accurate enough and some of them seem to have slight stronger settings than others. It’s not a good idea to swing near your max too much. In my own swing using my own device the 110 is about my limit but is faster than my real swing so mine is maybe 5-10mph in the opposite direction to yours but I usually use mine at around the 70mph mark where I can really feel the rhythm and acceleration through impact. Give that a ho and see how you get on.

    That is exactly the point of it as most players release their power too soon. So relax relax relax and take an easier forward swing and you will start to get the click to happen after the ball. ….That’s when the magic happens!

    To echo a comment previously made don’t get too hung up on the mph setting. I have the hole in one version and love it (remember it is only as good as the amount of times you use it) however i don’t think it is calibrated correctly at all and struggle to get it click much after 60mph. In truth it doesn’t matter. I think it is at its best on a low speed relaxed level as it is there to ingrain a relaxed easy tempo.
