    @@tonylupone1157 You can watch the ball if you please, just don't fixate on it so that your head is no longer able to move freely. Having a peripheral view and awareness of the ball is more than enough.

    Gentlemen, this approach has reinvigorated me. I played minor league baseball and hockey in my earlier life. I was competitive to a fault. When I was no longer able to play hockey due to spinal compression issues I was devastated. At age 58 I retired and took up golf for the first time. I became obsessed and dedicated myself to playing good golf. I had a desire to compete but only if I wouldn't embarrass myself. I am now 63 (5 years into golf) and shoot in the low 80s, my best score ever was a 79 playing from the white tees (6,400 yds). I was competitive with 30 year olds but it took me 2 days to recover after a round. I watched 2 of your videos earlier this week and read the free portion of your book and have now played 18 holes 3 days in a row implementing a tension free swing, lifting my lead heal, moving my head and completing every swing in its entirety. I shot 82, 85, 84 swinging much more freely and nearly pain free. Every now and then I tense up and am reminded quickly by my back not to do that. Accepting that I will not look like Scottie Scheffler or Tiger Woods when I swing, I love the game more than ever. I still have much to learn but will follow a different approach and template (the Easiest Swing). I cannot thank you enough for opening a whole new world for me and for senior golfers everywhere. I now have a new saying, "I'll play with anybody, anywhere on any day" (as long as I can afford it). I love you guys!

    I'm just hung up my lacrosse cleats at 53. Played in "masters" leagues since I was 30 after playing in college. I started playing golf during the pandemic . Its now my new obsession and I'm just learning that I can't swing like the pros. My body takes a few days to recover as well and my swing has to change if I want to play more to improve.

    @@DukeFame88 Isn’t it interesting that we both were super competitive in our younger years and we still have that drive. For me it’s the challenge of learning and improving. I continue to do both. I love it when my golf buddies comment “there is just no way you can hit the ball that far and that accurately with that swing speed”. Little do they know that my swing is actually 7mph faster than theirs on average, it just doesn’t look like it’s faster. I keep telling them speed is at the ball, not from the top of the backswing to the ball. I find myself answering their questions all round long. Finally I just told them “start paying me for my advice or better yet join Easiest Swing and unlock your golfing potential. I wish you all the best with your game! Hope you stay in touch. I’m in Wisconsin and we are having a crazy winter. We had tornadoes touch down 1/4 mile from my home 2 weeks ago in February and I played 18 holes a few days later. 1st time anyone from my area played golf in February. Bring it on! The more days I can play the better. Be well my friend and keep hitting them long and straight.

    Thanks very much to both of you, Phil & Sean. Now, your easy swing method for sr. helps me a great deal in reducing tension & pain in my left arm & shoulder and let my left arm bend a bit, and lifting my left heel a bit from the ground on my upswing helps my downswing to be smoother & easier w/better impact thru. the ball and I don't need to keep my head down, either. A by-product is a free follow through w/no stiff back. Perfect for me to feel good about playing golf again and I am a 76 years old guy.

    Hi so glad you found us and can’t wait to hear when you start getting those yards back and a spring in your step to boot! Here is a comment from someone else who recently found us. I think this is inspiring! @wallacenock7423 on KZread: “Well I have to report that just days ago I stumbled on your channel and started watching the videos. I am a 62 year old that is undergoing prostate cancer treatment. I have subsequently lost a fair amount of yardage that I thought was due to the radiation treatment. I previously, 13 years back, played off a scratch handicap for 15 years. However, I had a long break and was diagnosed 8 months ago, I realised I needed to get back to my golf and my exercise. Purchased clubs, but could not hit my drive longer than 200 yards at its best and was hitting a 5 iron 135 yards. I thought it was due to the illness. However, I was totally wrong. I started watching your videos and realised it was all in what my swing was doing and nothing to do with my illness. Years ago I turned like the pros and hit it 320 yards regularly. However, after taking your tuition advice and watching every video, I can now comfortably say I now hit it on average 280 yards off the tee and can hit my 8 iron where I used to use a 5 iron. I am playing to approx a 4 handicap again and getting better by the day. Thank you Easiest Swing for making my life feel so fulfilled and complete again. Daily I progress and my treatment will be complete and hopefully in remission by end of November. I would love to visit Spain and meet you guys (he means Séan) as I live in Surrey UK. Thank you for making golf so simple and easy to understand. Warm regards Sam. Please let us know how you get on. Can’t wait to hear from you.

    I started learning golf at age 10. I had great teachers who taught a Sam Snead, Ben Hogan style swing. Free foot movement was a part of this style. I became proficient at golf and by high school, became club champion. I joined the golf team in college and the coach told my I needed to keep my left heel planted if I wanted to improve. After much retraining, this became a part of my swing. I gradually became consistent with this method, even though it wasn't as comfortable. However, I am no longer able to consistently swing this way. At age 71 now, and with my 2nd hip replacement, I am determined to find a golf swing with repeatability and comfort. The free left foot is not new for me. But a moving head and flex in the left arm is definitely a new concept. I really like what I'm seeing at Easiest Swing. Golf should be fun. Sean and Philip, you inspire me to try!

    What an interesting story David and I wonder how many of us played in that same constrained way throughout our lives. The last thing Brian told me before he passed was to kick my left knee in to get further away from the coil method and this has allowed me at 66 to improve and lengthen my backswing back to a full swing again. I hope you experience the same as me - a wonderful feeling of freedom that feels like golf was when I first took it up before I started trying to do it “right”!!!

    Turning the knee toward the ball was one of my early teachings. I love watching your swings, Philip and Sean. It will be my goal to achieve your balance and relaxed feel. I'm curious, especially after watching Brian's swings, do you actually see the ball at impact? I'm fairly certain that Brian did not. His head was turning forward prior to the strike. Maybe "Keep your eye on the ball" is another rule to throw out?

    I just had my hip replaced I am 60 years old. I booked the surgery and it took 19 months before the first incision. Four months later I just finished my third practice at the range. I have to admit it's been a struggle. I was a six handicap when i stopped playing about 2 years ago. I played 23 years of rugby and got to see the world. However, looking back, it is like being in a car crash once a week during the season. When playing golf, the compliment I most often received "you don't look like your swinging hard at all but the ball flies". After watching this I know why I have struggled, I am to tense. I was always very good at relaxing. The more you relax the faster your swing speed is. I am going to the range tomorrow and I am going to find that relaxed tempo using your tips. My practice sessions have felt nothing like that😊 Thanks guys this is exactly what I needed to see. Where did you film this it looks tropical and warm. It reminds me of my home. I came across your channel by chance and have found your tips very interesting and have subscribed. I'm a senior golfer aged 68 and play off 10 handicap these days and was in single figures years back. I'm always telling new golfers that you can move your head and try to help them with their swing. I have always moved my head for as long as I can remember. When I play in a comp at my club there is always someone saying you moved your head that's why you pulled your tee shot and I correct them by giving my version on the swing. I look forward to your videos

    At 12:03 your impact alignments are just spot on! Body open, and just enough right side bend to maintain your bent Rt elbow and wrist at impact. My issues are early extension and a high Rt shoulder going into impact which forces me throw out my right arm early, which destroys my impact alignments. Do any of your videos address these 2 faults that you can recommend? Thanks!

    Lovely to hear Vivek! It's great that you are aware of the difficulties many golfers face when learning the game and how a few simple 'breaking of the rules' could help their progress exponentially. As you point out ES works brilliantly for senior golfers, but we coach the same principles to every age and level of golfer with equal success. We are big fans of Ernest Jones, Bill Melhorn, Fred Shoemaker, Bobby Jones etc. etc. If you haven't already we recommend reading Positive Impact Golf the book written by our founder Brian Sparks as it will reveal more about the ES philosophy that may interest you.

At the transitional part of my downswing I simply use my trail index trigger finger and wrist to throw my club head through my ball allowing the club head to naturally exits left . I allow my body to know what it needs to do to achieve a great swing. Cheers🥂🥂👍

    Thanks so much for the response. I am almost 78 and love your approach but I only hit my drives 175 because of my neuropathy. My pitching wedge goes 100 using your swing but I can’t carry that over to the driver because of balance(neuropathy).

  • @Easiestswing

    @Easiestswing

    8 ай бұрын

    One issue to consider is that if your driver is around 175 yards the difference between irons is likely to be 8 yards or so. Therefore a well struck wedge v a poorly struck 8 iron are likely to go similar distances. You might well find some more distance by improving your wrist action. Often the wrists can be too stiff and relaxing them can increase clubhead speed by creating more of a swinging action. As your foot action may be a little limited by your condition you need to make sure all other areas of power generation are working as well as possible. Hope that helps.

    Awesome swing! I did tried it for the last two weeks on the course and it gives me a lot of power effortless compared to my old rigid swings for years! My back is not pressured nor hurting compared to my old swing. Likewise bending my elbows contrary to keeping it straight has more leverage to swing free. With the new swing, my balls it's either on a draw, cut or straight and most of all an extra 15-20 yards distance. This should be a responsive movement to the swing motion. Wherever feels most natural to you - though we wouldn't recommend before beginning the forward swing! Some golfers like to use this as a trigger for the start of the downswing ( what we call the forward swing ). We prefer it not to be a result of any intention, just a response and coordinated with the swing.

    Hi Richie, typically drive the ball 280-300yards. It's a common concern for golfers, thinking that an easy, effortless swing can't go any distance. It absolutely can and does. My son 37 hits the ball 320+ using Easiest Swing. Distance will not be an issue.

    I have adopted the Easiest Swing technique in my game and it's been wonderful! I'm 75 and still carry a 9.2 handicap index. However, I'd lost distance and this brought my distance and power back, with the slowest and easiest swing I've ever had. The one thing I disagree with a little bit is the "soft left arm". I don't tense my arm up, but I don't bend it as much as I see you doing. I believe this gives me more swing consistency. What are your thoughts on that modification?

  • @Easiestswing

    @Easiestswing

    10 ай бұрын

    Great to hear you finding so much success with integrating the Easiest Swing into your game. It's brilliant to hear of the additional power and distance you have regained, something that almost all golfers will find if they have adopted it correctly. The "bent left arm" is not an essential element, just the eradication of the "straight left arm". Allowing the arm to relax and bend will not effect consistency as the arm will naturally straighten through impact due to centripetal force, so long as you remain relaxed throughout the swing. It's best to view elements like the bent left arm as responses to the swing movement and not deliberate actions.

  • 10 ай бұрын

    Hi Dave By more consistency what exactly do you mean? That your ball strike has improved or that you hit more fairways? I have heard many times that the straight left arm is supposed to ensure that the radius of the club head during the backswing stays consistent. This is why I ask if your think you get a more consistent ball strike. If it is to do with hitting more fairways then that is a different kind of consistency. Therefore I would rally appreciate if you could specify or elaborate more on what you mean and then I can give you an accurate answer. Thanks, Sean

    Question- I was hurt in an accident that dislocated and broke both shoulders. Haven't golfed in 5 years and have finished rehabilitation and started hitting golf balls again. The issue here is limited range of motion and shoulder symmetry. Long story short, with my driver the ball is supposed to align to the inside of my left heel (being right handed) but I have to place the ball to align with the outside of my left heel so about 3 inches to the left and I have to do this with my irons as well. I'm not asking for medical advice but is there a fix to this or do I have to work around this weird alignment issue?

    Really pleased you've found us Mike and thanks for the lovely comment. Easiest Swing strives for zero swing thoughts. So with regards to the heel coming off the ground, this should be a response to a full turn, not a conscious effort. More a release of the heel if it was causing resistance or tension during the swing itself. A great practice drill however is La Danse du Golf kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZIh3rZiAd7bJms4.html which works on making the entire movement an automatic response. So try this. Thanks again.

    Great that you have found us and that you are looking forward to releasing that heel. I have played for nearly 60 years too and still find my left heel wants to stay static. All I can tell you is that I know the more I release it the easier the game gets. It is caused by habit and is hard to break (and even tough to believe in mentally!). Brian (founder of ES) gave me a lesson a few months before he passed and he told me to let my left knee move close to my right as I turn in my backswing. I’m still working on it today but if you look closely in the video I still have further to go. Philip

    The best way to begin implementing these concepts into your swing, is slowly. Find one of the elements that feels most comfortable to you and start there. Each of these elements are meant to make the swing less restrictive and should happen as a response to a relaxed swing movement. Hope this helps get you started on your Easiest Swing journey.

    I’ve been following and doing the Easiest Swing for a little over a year and I love my swing but I can’t help hitting fat shots. Off the tee Im pretty decent but that second or third shot kills my scores. I practice turning and moving forward in my swing and do La Dance many times a day and I also use a Swingrite but something happens when I use my irons off the turf. Should my shoulders remain level through the swing? I don’t feel like I’m tilting backwards. I’ll just keep at it. Keep up the good work!

    Hey Kenneth, great to hear you love your swing using the Easiest Swing. Definitely keep at it. We have a task for you to try that will solve your score killers. Place a tee peg in the ground 4 inches in front of the ball. It only needs quarter of an inch showing above the ground. The task is to brush the ground during your swing and hit the tee after the ball has been struck. The bottom of your swing (middle of your divot) should be where the tee is placed. Give it a go and check back in with us.

    Hi Kenneth you are probably finding that as you are more relaxed the centripetal force you are generating will create a pull on your arms through impact that increases the width of your arc through the ball. Remember stiff muscles shorten but relaxed ones stretch. As well as the tee peg advice from Peter you may need to adopt a slightly taller posture to compensate. The answer for you will either be posture or weight transfer or a bit of both.

There are few flat spots on our course so this could be a problem, or it could be i am losing my focus, or trying too hard. This is a challenge for me. Any ideas?

    Wow Jerry, that is impressive playing off 16 and just 25% miss hits at 82! Perhaps the course isn't helping as you suggest. However try the Moe Norman approach of "positive indifference". I.e. concentrate on your good shots only and accept/pay no attention to the miss hits. You will likely find an improvement that way, even if only marginal to begin with. Hope that helps.

    Hi SJ great question and just so you know Brian part wrote a sequel to the book called The Easiest Swing in Golf, I am just completing the book which I hope to publish soon. In this book I discuss the topic in some more detail but you are right to question it and I would say the simple answer is that the club never swings on a straight line from where your eyes see it. Hope that’s helpful.

    That is exactly the point of Easiest Swing George there are no rights or wrongs all we know is that keeping your head down doesn’t assure a good shot and keeping your head down too long is restrictive and stifles the swing and puts the body in unnatural positions. So whether you bring your head around before, at or after impact really is inconsequential so long as you allow yourself the freedom to complete your follow through.

However at 78 and with a sporting background , mainly hockey where the stick had to be kept below shoulder level, for years I have been unable to achieve a full golf swing as demonstrated. I have tried it on the range with mixed success but whenever I try it on the actual golf course it ends up with me spraying the ball everywhere. Maybe I am a lost cause 🙂 but anyway I will continue to enjoy your videos

    I think the real issue with the more mature golfer is hip rotation. Lifting the heal of the lead foot enables that. Many of today’s seniors were influenced by the Leadbetter/ Faldo nonsense of resisting with your lower body. Turning the upper body with wooden hips just enables a sway in those not flexible enough to do it.

  • @Easiestswing

    @Easiestswing

    11 ай бұрын

    Yes you are right Derek. Especially if your are trying to keep your head still, down and eyes glued to the ball on top of it all. The result is the hips slide and the right foot rolls. This is why the 3 Deadly Don’ts are so crucial to the everyday golfer.

    The coach’s suggestions are to start out with a smaller version of the exercise where the foot movement is less drastic but still allows some freedom in the feet maybe only lifting the left foot slightly off the ground in the backswing and vice versa with the right in the follow through. Give that a shot and let us know how you get on.

  • @Easiestswing

    @Easiestswing

    Жыл бұрын

    There is of course limits to how much a move is exaggerated (we always encourage experimentation), however it's only true if you don't turn properly and shift your weight forward through the ball. The majority of players that suffer with hitting behind the ball transfer their weight incorrectly from left to right (right handed player) through impact. Easiest Swing is about transferring your weight naturally and correctly from right to left (like a throwing action). Watch and try SLX which emphasises this point kzread.info/dash/bejne/f5qemruEaNjJc5M.html
