He is a pretentious person. Neil deGrasse Tyson fakes his gentleness and relaxing voice on National Geographic as an attempt to build a strong fan base for himself. In reality he is an angry, obnoxious person who suffers from a superiority complex, go check his interview with Joe Rogan to see what i'm talking about. Don't ever be fooled by someone's appearance

Bravo Neil! You’ve taken cosmos to a whole new awesome level. I’d recommend everyone, if you get the chance, to go to nyc and experience the Hayden Planetarium, Neil narrates the entire experience.
