@@kingnawaffcv7513 In 45 bc Julius Caesar had a 5th triumph for the end of the civil war and the defeat of his enemies in Spain. Because the triumph celebrated the death of Romans many found it in bad taste. When Caesar passed by that year’s magistrates Tribune Aquila refused to stand for him, deeply bothering Caesar. Follow this Caesar would make mundane orders like sending a letter and then say that he’d better consult tribune Aquila beforehand. It’s covered in Caesar and King

My favorite thing about your channel is seeing you describe specific battles. I can't even imagine how much work goes into that and how much crap you must get from other historians who disagree. Still the general consensus seems to be that people agree with you or at least like your interpretations of historical events because you present it in a clear but skeptical way without pushing an agenda. I just started watching your channel based on your most liked videos and I've liked all of them but to be honest it is pretty difficult to enjoy some of the earlier ones due to really bad audio recording. So my question is, would you ever consider re-recording some of your earlier audio? Your voice really keeps people engaged and it would be awesome if we could hear your actual clear voice recordings in some of these videos. I know it would be a shitload of work and probably not even close to worth the effort but just wondering if you are ever considering doing a new voice over.

The first time the interrex shuffle happened was after the "disappearance" of Romulus, and it lasted a whole year. At first, they didn't plan on finding a new permanent king, rather deciding to kick the can down the road. Every interrex had their own agenda though, and it caused a lot of chaos having a new one every week. Eventually they decided to find a new king, and that guy was king Numa. I suppose that every interregnum got more and more standardized as described in this video, until the usurpers of the late kingdom. (of course this is all legendary so whatever)

This book takes place in the year 115, and talks about the daily lives of citizens and high powered people during the rule of the Empire by kings and not a senate. This book takes place during Trajan's rule by the way.

That book is next on my list! The author Alberto Angelo also wrote a book called _The Reach of Rome_ wherein the narrative follows the travels of a single sesterces as it works its way across the length and breadth of the empire - also in Trajan's reign, I think. It was absolutely wonderful and I heartily second your recommendation. Usually books that try to do things like these two don't really work - too cutesy or a badly juxtaposed literary conceit on top of a normal book, etc. But the one I have already read is brilliant and I'm sure the other is too!

Maybe you can renew the voice in these old videos one day. The sound quality is really bad.

Hey! Now that you have better audio equipment, can you redo these old videos so you don't sound like you're broadcasting from Jupiter? Leave the space travel to the guardians in Destiny. Thanks!
