The architecture and vastu of old temples is totally different from new temples ! New temples being built on whims and fancies of trusts and politicians is a wasted excercise.. The energies of old temples is something, the scientific community must explore at length. Ancient technology was more advanced !

Every story has many sides...we can even get N no. of stories of girls visiting temples and still having everything perfect and also stories of girls not getting periods on time even after following all rules and regulations! There might be possibilities of getting effected by energies of both type either+ve or -ve but making rules mandatory like harsh restrictions with no exceptions and making periods fell like a punishment..its cruel ! At the same time making assumptions and restrictions on basis of stories , not make sense ! Nothing is ever mentioned in any holy book. And now a days getting irregular cycle and cramps is majorly due to unhealthy lifestyle and food habits. So girls are requested to adopt for health lifestyle , thought process and food habits instead of supporting these taboos.

I am a Hindu girl and even though I touch deities and attend pujas on my periods I have never experienced any kind of bad or irregular menstruation health. I think it's because of our mindsets which make our body react to it. If we think that we are impure and stay away from temples then on the uncertain days like those women who you've mentioned, might suffer and if we don't think like that then in real nothing will happen. I am an empath and I can sense energies around me. And for me I have never experienced energy imbalance just because I am on my periods and I have entered a temple.

  • @nirnaytyagi8367

First of all I want you to understand this never considers women as impure....secondly about the fact that there are certain energies or this whole concept .....so I also wondered why peepal tree has ghost on it at night ...the simple reason was it emits out co² at night so we should avoid being close to it....also that we should not chew basil or tulsi....just because tulsi mata ka apman hai....no reason behind that is .....tulsi leaves have arsenic and certain elements ....that if chewed can harm the outer layer of your teeth and so you can boil them or cook them aur take them with water or directly consume them without chewing.....so everything had a scientific reason but common people couldn't understand those ...so stories are made and with many more ways people were made to believe it........coming back to the point ...you see in ancient times geometry in india was so extensively studied ...that what we call as temples were education centres and spiritual centres....and were made with so much of precision and accuracy....selecting a specific region...building it up with such complex geometry....so as to attain certain energy levels....so these energies definitely affect our body systems ....if we say by science that gravitational pull of moon cause tides ....a very huge volume of water is affected ....so don't you think that energy also affects fluids in our body .....and biologically a women's body systems are far more complexly designed than that of males .....so to protect them and keeping in mind the health of women it was considered.....in your case I would like to say ....see all of us are different in some or the other ways .....may be your body is not that sensitive to those energies as comapared to someone else........my opinion definitely does not mean women should not go to temple or someone should restrict women from going to any temple.....but certain precautions or safety measures should be taken considering all of this.....for example there are a lot of temples in karnataka where men are not allowed ....does this mean discrimination....no not at all....there is certain discretion......so similarly....if women are not allowed to enter under certain conditions....it is definitely not a discrimination....it is discretion.....

You'd have noticed that people often lie to kids about various things. For example, you prevent them from going into a dark room because there may be a cat in there. The purpose of that lie is to prevent the kid from getting hurt in the dark, but if you tell that to the kid, they'll be like 'bitch I fell 20 times today, I don't care' but when you tell them that the room has something that they are afraid of then they won't go. Now, if you tell someone that don't go into the temple during certain time it'll harm you. They'll say that penance is also devoution (that's why people did Tapa in the past). So, how do you prevent a devoutee from going to their Dev/ Devi? By telling them that it'll displease their Dev/ Devi because no devoutee wants to displease their Dev/ Devi just like no Dev/ Devi would want their children to suffer. The scientific reasons that you talk about was also passed down from generation to generation from one priest to another and other such knowledgable people otherwise after few generation the people of the past would themselves have gotten rid of it by calling it illogical but they didn't because of which we still have such practices in place. If you're wondering why we don't know of such reasons today then read the history of past 1000 years and you'll get some idea. I, myself, don't fully agree with everything in the video but being open to an explanation is better than calling everything that you don't agree with/ understand illogical.

Any temple in india constructed as per vastu and as per other rituals is an cosmic energy centre. In the same way our human body is also an energy centre which will have direct influence each other. Cosmic energy can't be seen with a naked eye. Main source of energy concentrated we get from garuda dwajam ( a very big with a considerable height over which a set of small metallic bells as per the vedic specifications in adharvana ved. Some stringent rituals were also performed at time of the erection of dwaja sthambha. The distance between deity ( idol ) and the dwaja sthambha is predetermined as per specifications. The main deity in the garbha gudi is also placed as specified according to the vedas. There is so much to talk about the temples. But for now, let's not discuss about this here. The cosmic energy is received by dwaja sthambha and then is transferred to the deity and then to the light offered by purohit/ poojari/pandit and then to the sata golam and bells. The food we offer to the God/ goddess is refined celestial. This is one of the reasons which will have an impact on a lady who undergo the menstrual period. Jai shree ram.

I am happy with this explanation but to i believe that there is a simple reason for these taboo. When else is it taboo to go to the temple??? Some of the times you are asked not to go to the temples are 1) when there was a death in the family 2) when a child is born in the family 3) when a lady is having her menstruation 4) when a child has come of age 4) Also when someone has measles or chicken pox etc. This is science that if there is a death then there is an incubation period for a disease since there are no way to know how a person has passed on. Then when a child is born , the immunity level of the child is weak so the family is asked not to go to the temple for fear of contacting a fatal disease and passing it on to the baby or to the child who has come of age. Its all in the name of prevention and if you tell this to the normal people they will not listen so the reason for the fear story that the God will punish them for going into the temple. Off course the are also some energies within the temple but i believe these energies are all to do good for the individual rather then harm to anyone. This is only my take on the understanding of this taboo.

I am suggesting that science needs to be published and brought to common knowledge. If there is any real world study that demonstrated women developing gynecological issues after visiting temples during their menstrual cycles, would be a mind blowing progress in our medical knowledge. And I am sure in today’s age, such a study won’t go unnoticed! Again, I am not suggesting that Dr. Joseph is wrong. I am simply suggesting that such an interview should be accompanied with hard data.

Sir, who will do it? 98% of the funds go to allopathy and in the balance 2% there are ayurveda, unani, siddha, homeopathy etc. Baba Ramdev has done well documented research in some areas but instead of reading that people will simply start ridiculing him under an agenda. Sir, who will do research as there is no business there in Ayurveda etc and big business is in allopathy. 🙏🙏

I wouldn't confuse her misinterpretation of Hinduism as scientific. Sadly there are thousands of people like this using pseudo science to promote their gibberish. She suggests that the energy in the temples causes menstrual cramps.. which does not explain why millions of non hindu women across the world also have menstrual cramps. The only thing she will end up providing is more gibberish. Hinduism is pure science and not pseudo science hence people like these only end up tainting this great philosophy.

What you see in the temple isn’t the creator . That what we call the source if creation / Brahman is formless , attributeless . The idols are energised bodies mostly for which prana Prathistah is done and different idols are energised for different purpose and different ways . Not all places have same effect on you . There is a whole science behind creation of idol and the purpose. The temple culture is mainly prominent in kaliyug . Vedic period didnt have that Much importance to temples as yeh society was in a different mindset and mode then today . The basic consciousness of both this periods are quite different .

Menstruating women are basically Untouchable in Hinduism. In this I will provide evidence from Hindu scriptures and how Hindus generally treat menstruating women . first comes vedic texts. . Taittiriya Samhita 2.5.1 “one should not address a menstruating woman, nor one should sit with her, one should not eat her food for she keeps emitting the color of Brahamana murder” . Taittiriya Brahamana 3.7.1 “ Half of his sacrifice is destroyed in the case of hik whose wife becomes untouchable (menstruating) on the day” . Gautama dharamsutra 14.30 “When a man has touched a Menstruating woman, Chandala, corpse; he should bath” . Gauatam dharamsutra 17.9 “Food becomes unfit if touched by menstruating woman” Vishnu smriti 5.104 " If a menstruating woman touches a High caste man, she should be whipped " . Vashishtha dharmasutra 5.5-6 "woman in her courses is impure during three (days and) nights. . During that period) she shall not apply collyrium to her eyes, nor anoint (her body), nor bathe in water; she shall sleep on the ground; she shall not sleep in the day-time, nor touch the fire, nor make a rope, nor clean her teeth, nor eat meat, nor look at the planets, nor smile, nor busy herself with (house-hold affairs), nor run; she shall drink out of a large vessel, or out of her joined hands, or out of a copper vessel. . Baudhayana dharamsutra 1.9.5 “ One should bathe with his clothes on After touching a menstruating woman” . Vashishtha dharamsutra 23.33 “If seonenhas touched menstruating woman, pyre , cemebtry, he becomes purified after completely washing and submerging in the water” . Manusmriti 3.239 “Menstruating woman, Chandala and dogs shouldn't look at eating brahmins” . Vishnu smriti 82.6-9 “one should not look at a menstruating woman, nor a dog nor a village hog” . So basically when Hindus prohibit Entry of menstruating women in temples, they are following their Hindu rules. . Here are some real life incidents in Hindu society. . Hindu temple declares it will only allow women to enter once a scanning machine is designed to check nobody going in her menstruation . Source menstruatingwww.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3332227/Hindu-temple-declares-allow-women-enter-scanning-machine-designed-check-going-menstruating.html .

I think olden days temples were constructed on hill tops and there weren’t much transport facilities and sanitary/hygiene necessities. To reach hill top we need to have a lot of physical strength. During periods women will already be suffering from cramps and also because of lack of sanitary facilities they asked women to stay home for 3 days. Now even in 21st century despite of having all the facilities..people making pseudoscience theories for rules that had been created centuries ago is really foolish.

In Biology it's said that clearly during Menstruation women releases bl00d which contains pu$s , g€rms and more.. This is Biology... Now a scientific reason why... Have you ever seen a temple shikara or tomb... It's stands tall... Whereas during periods the energy of the women goes down through they're V canal.. Now don't say that the Normal blood also go and affect our body.. Never because the blood is going on moving through arteries and veins... So it goes up and down.. Whereas the Menstrual blood directly goes down, and there is no come back for it... My mom said what you're seeing in TV ads about menstruation p@ds are not true. Like women This and that work during Menstruation like racing and driving... She said there will be menstrual cramp , headache , stomach ache and more... And hearing the temple bhajan where the mooladhara Chakra faces to the Uttar shikara.. And During periods the mooladhara Chakra faces down... Which creates a negativity within you... I know to prove you're comment you'll say that when I went to temple during periods all felt good.. But that has an affect as well... Even my mom never enters the temple during Menstruation and not Even Pooja room... She says Pooja room is also a mini temple where the lamp is lit.. And I sincerely asked her, during periods women are pure ryt.. She said this... During periods we suffer stomach ache , head ache , cramps and more.. So how it's Divine or pure ?... And she said we're pure during the time when we give birth... And she said how much you go to temple during Menstruation.. You won't feel comfortable as the flow of blood is going down and hearing to the sound of the bell and bhajan will distract the flow and feel you sick.. This is her experience... I promise this what she said.. And I Asked her why Pooja room also she said pooja room is also equavalent temple where lamp is lit and bhajan are Sung.. So it will not be Okay... She said you can chant Mantrams and listen to music..... And during some days my father works at home for help.... This is the best explanation I can give you ma'am.. I gave the scientific explanation , Biological explanation , Chakra explanation and my mother's explanation on this... And FYI there are many temples in bharat especially Shaktha Tantric Temples where during Menstruation women are allowed, many of the Women faces this problem of having menstruation late and early, so these temples fixes it like Kamakhya Devi temple and chottanikara Devi Kshetram and more... That's why we say chakras also place a huge role.... If you've any doubt you can ask.. Namaśthe 🕉️🌺🌸🌿

Thank you Sinu Joseph ji for sharing this knowledge with us I've always wondered why women didn't visit temple when they were menstruating and the left always tried to portray it as misogynistic.. but I always thought there might be some scientific reason behind it and today I got my answer :) Our sanatan dharma is filled with knowledge and science we must rediscover our ancient knowledge and teach our upcoming generations about it! Once again thank you Sinu ji :)

Well to first question you have to know what the body systems actually are.? Whatever she said made complete sense. Our bodies are made up of energy fields and during period the energy is directed towards the earth. During periods you are more susceptible to energies. Temples have tons of positive energy. You can consider temple equivalent to a mobile tower with lots of energy gathered around. Now if you are susceptible and you go in temple this energy tends to flow within you and cause problems.

Sinu ji, you are a very knowledgeable person and I respect you. But I have to disagree with you on this. There is no proof of concept for this matter. We have to do a study: select a number of healthy menstruating women (hide from them this perceived connection between idols and menstrual cycle) send them to a temple with idols and see the effect on them. That is the way to find the facts. You know like I do that faith and practices can obscure facts in real life.

I didn't have periods for years after that either. So why did I start menstruating in that church? I wouldn't dismiss what the video says about the influence of temples so easily...

What of temples. Menstruating women in high castes, especially Brahmins - even women in temple priests' households - are not expected to go out of the house, and also not to touch or meet the inmates of the house. For 3 days they are completely kept in a separate room, or if that much space is not there, in a separate space in the house itself. Food, water, etc. is served to them from a distance, etc. They are to take complete rest. Only in modern times the habits are changing. I don't think there is anything wrong in such separation either unless it amounts to willful discrimination or suppression of such women. It is not discriminatory - it applies to all mestruating women and it is not coercive either - it is just customary. I think for health reasons they devised this and in modern days when time is scarce and people hurry to do or not to do jobs in time changes are coming. However, with such background, it is natural that menstruating women themselves will feel awkward to go to temples, etc.
