This, also, he needs to get rid of the pressurized radiator cap on the filler neck by the thermostat and put a factory S4 flat cap (no spring) on it. He has two pressurized radiator caps in his system which causes pressure issues, temp spikes and air pockets.

You're definitely on the right track. My FD had to have a baffled oil filler neck (IRP is who I went with) and a baffled pan to get rid of all the slosh. I ended up NOT going with a fully baffled pan, but instead found a drop-in solution similar to the hyromat someone mentioned below. Your time differential also sounds nearly identical to the differential of my well-tracked RX8 and my new Zenos e10R. The Zenos should be ALOT quicker, but I'm still 2-3 seconds off my Rx8 pace. Maybe it just boils down to familiarity in the beginning. (I've also only done 2 shakedowns in the Zenos)

Try putting louvre panels in the hood. I used louvres from the side of an old room airconditioner. It pulls the air up thru the rad and out thru the hood.

Also recommend making a fan shroud or modify an fc shroud.

Looks like your having a lot of fun testing out the rad7 at the track, racers are always trying new things with their cars, so lots of content to be had with this journey. It is interesting how you compare the handling capabilities of the rx8 to the power of the rx7 and it would be a cool video to rip both of them in a day and hear your thoughts. 😊

Try using an old Nissan patrol master cylinder for brakes. It has a 1"bore which will give better pressure. Cost $150here in Australia.

Which OEM proportioning valve is in the car? I remember there were different valves for the FB base drum versus the gsl disc brake setup. Maybe one of the FC valves would work better for your setup before you go the pedal box route. I think the GSL-SE rear rotors were larger than the 4 lug FC rears, but it should be in the ballpark.

@@arrivendrive6831 the rx8 trans does not like to be overshifted and banged into gear, it requires smooth and slow shifting, you'd be better off with the rx8 jdm 5 speed, which is just an updated FD trans anyways

My car is not for drag racing but better yet set up for street and road course. You don't really bang into gears on road courses like you do in drag racing. You could do it but not really worth it.
