I can only echo the comments that others have made when I say that I am absolutely stoked to see this video again. I loved it so much that I memorized chunks of the video to the point that whenever I think of 'My name is Ozymandias, king of kings,' I immediately follow it with 'In Xanadu did Kublai Khan a stately pleasure dome decree.' and 'Twas Brillig in the slivey toves.'

Between The Edits: Getting Poetry Past The Content ID Robots. This is a double work of art, and I like to think of the robots as being art critics in their own mechanical way, and this has to now meet their "aesthetic" standards, as well. Maybe this will be the wave of the future, works that have dual meanings for carbon based life forms and sentient machines. Thanks for the extra work.

We've all been hearing it all out lives without knowing it. The older generation never really pointing it out because its the Beatles, why would they ever need to point it out? For me, the entry point was the 2007 movie Across the Universe, a musical that stitched together the lyrics of a dozen or two Beatles songs into a cohesive narrative, all sung by the character with very limited diaglogue as if were almost a live action Interstella 5555

Just as gorgeous and engaging a video as I remembered! Honestly with the new crunchy-sounding intro and outro it puts me in mind of my dad in his old studio in our basement, putting on his Beatles records he bought back when they were first released, and me sitting down in the corner listening to the crackling, popping music as my dad painted nearby.

One note I guess on the existence of poetry in the modern day is that I feel like we are exposed to more non-sung poetry all the time through rap. It’s still exposure to poetry in a musical format, though, but Sappho’s poetry was sung to the lyre. Poetry spoken is poetry alive and if we looked at poetry as that instead of something purely written I think we would see it everywhere
