The Pine Hill Road Creature 1985 Enola Pennsylvania "Big Foot"

Ойын-сауық

In September of 1985 residents of East Pennsboro/Enola Pennsylvania reported strange noises and a foul odor coming from the woods in the area. Soon after, multiple sightings were reported of a hairy big foot type creature in these same woods. Panic spread through the community as residents took up arms to search for the creature. East Pennsboro Township Police then opened an investigation.

This is where I’m from and I drive this road all of the time and I love this story because my dad told me this a few times and still does. I’m glad someone addressed this on KZread.

It is an interesting story from our local history. I was surprised to see it went deeper than we all originally thought. It overshadowed other alleged sightings in the area at the same time such as the Swatara Creek Beast lol. I talk about it in my audio podcast here if your interested: Check out The 1985 Pine Hill Rd Creature and the Swatara Creek Beast from Running Into History on Amazon Music. music.amazon.com/podcasts/b1a1756f-9aab-4798-b9cd-88f62a4885bc/episodes/ddd49a89-48f8-41fb-a322-8529e089459d/running-into-history-the-1985-pine-hill-rd-creature-and-the-swatara-creek-beast?ref=dm_sh_Hasmg09A8dAbQiCp1feY5Lz8k

He worked with my Dad. Our whole family had the t-shirts. Years ago I told my Dad to give him a call and offer to buy any of the old shirts if he had them? Then I heard they made a brand new one a couple years ago so I bought one of those. Not the same artwork as the original but still cool!

I remember this VERY WELL! My grandma lived on Pine Hill Rd. and my Dad's house was in the woods BEHIND the Pine Hill Rd. residents, accessible from a different road. I also attended East Penn. I spent the weekends and some weeknights at his house and I was TERRIFIED when the rumors started flying around. No way I was going to Grandma's! As soon as the sun went down, I would go through the entire house, pulling all the blinds down, closed the curtains and locked all the doors. Then also sat down to watch MacGyver and Amazing Stories. I was relieved, to say the least, once it came out that it was a hoax. I never did get the t-shirt, but one thing that wasn't mentioned in the story was that he actually appeared in the Halloween parade, shortly thereafter! I believe that's when/where the t-shirts started being sold. Nicely done!

That is officially the strangest fire siren I have ever heard, by far. No wonder you thought it was some creature howling! 😂 The closest to odd - or just different, really - sirens I’ve heard around here east of Pittsburgh are ones I liken to a slide whistle, just lower toned.
