The Congregation of the Fathers of Mercy, which was founded in 1808, originally under the title of “The Missionaries of France.” The community was founded for the purpose of re-evangelizing the people of France after the Catholic Faith had been subjected to years of attacks and persecution during the French Revolution. It is now exclusively an American community. The Generalate of the Congregation is located in Auburn, Kentucky. The primary apostolate of the Fathers of Mercy is to conduct parish missions and retreats throughout the United States and other countries when called upon. The Congregation also staffs The National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion in Green Bay, WI, and two rural parishes in the Archdiocese of Louisville, Kentucky.

Fr. David, thank you for your very challenging words of wisdom and the pure truth of the suffering Jesus. You awaken our minds, hearts and souls to respond wisely to the challenges and commit ourselves in following the rugged road that Jesus walks in whatever way it is presented to us. We remain in union with Him at all times to remember His death on the cross. He gave His life for us, we must surrender our life to Him to show our true love and gratitude.

Jesus is the light of the world, and his light shines on the Father for all to see: Jesus is our enlightener. He is the only one who can communicate a clear view of the Father to all mankind. Jesus is the only one who can introduce us to our Father, for it is written in Matthew 11:27 “no man knows the Son, but the Father; neither knows any man the Father, except the Son, and whomsoever the Son will reveal to him.” Jesus has told us and shown us all things about the Father; he has given us God's word and shown us God's power and spirit that works mightily through him. Jesus is the “the brightness of his Father’s glory, and the express image of his person;” he is the very resemblance of God, his Father (Hebrews 1:3). God the Father said to his Son, “Thy Throne, O’ God is forever and ever.” God glorifies himself in his Son, and he is well pleased (John 17:4-5, Hebrews 1:8). Those who hear Jesus' voice and listen to what he says about the Father will be with Jesus, and Jesus will lead us to the Father. “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that *the Father may be glorified in the Son”* (John 14:13).
