In this case it's illiteracy and authoritarianism. Illiterate people can't read the Bible to come to the conclusion that this is not from the Bible and goes against the Bible. The people in power use widespread illiteracy of followers to convince them to do unbiblical acts- wars for conquest, slavery, torture to obtain confession or punish, death penalty for sins, etc.

@@user-ly3li3ex8c Well, illiteracy and authoritarianism are common companions of fanaticism, and for good reason. However, you could come to the same conclusions from reading the bible. It is all up to wich texts you choose to focus on. The book is so full of contradictions that it is impossible not to cherry pick. Sometimes it is about peace and love (with caveats) and sometimes the message is shame, hate and violence. Not really surprising, as it is a collection of texts by different authors with different views.

@@torbjornlekberg7756 What you say comes from a lack of biblical literacy to read the Bible in context and not knowing the the impact of Christianity on nations when literacy was spread by Christians so people can read the Bible for themselves instead of the cherry picked scripture by those in power for their own agendas.

It hasn't really changed. Even today, in the US, people who are coming to seek a better life are labelled "rapists and murderers." They're treated like shit and exploited for political gain - such as when that governor sent a planeload to Martha's Vineyard. Immigrants are attacked. So are Jews and Muslims. Even those identified as "Democrats" are being treated as sub-human who run child sex rings out of pizza parlors. And millions and millions truly believe the lies.

Keep in mind that 10 years old in the 16th century is very, very different than a 10 year old today. They would have been working with the rest of the family at the business the family did for at lest 5-6 years by that point. I am not saying it would be easy, but they would at least have had a chance.

Kinda reminds me of playing bloodborne when I played for the first time it made me think that it can happen in real life too like being accused of something (at least without transformation beast & stuff) For those who have played it, have you noticed why the church sent logarius’s men to execute the cainhurst? Because they think they’re right so they to blow up the bridge that connects between town & cainhurst castle & calling them vile creatures (After the DLC came out) Not until then, you knew that you’re going back in timeline to know why villagers & townspeople hate you of accusing for misdeeds. After you’ve gone through, you’ll find out that the old hunters were accused of doing carnage on the villagers in the fishing hamlet village despite church are the ones who brutally massacred the village out of greed, horrible experiments, sacrificial for worshippers just to reach higher superior beings. The church are the ones real vile creatures. Logarius said “acts of kindness are not always wise & acts of evil are not always foolish, but regardless, we shall always strive to be good” i know it does make sense of what logarius said but did they just reflect on what just they did? did they really do the right thing? I don’t think so. So we’re getting it now that the church massacred the villagers while logarius’s men including himself massacred the Cainhurst people in the Cainhurst castle. What I understand is that, the Cainhurst just want to expand the hierarchy as a legacy despite they’re cursed for being a vampire

I can't think of a case where those accused of engaging in witchcraft were in any better position financially or otherwise for having done so. Likewise the power that they supposedly gain is at best extremely subtle. In no case anything they have supposedly used their powers for not better explained by nature or coincidence. To trade a few years of such limited supernatural power for a very real (in this scenario) eternity of eternal agony seems a bit of a short-sighted purchase in my book.

I now can understand why I hate cremations (always felt it was evil and thought why on earth would you burn the Body of someone you love?) I can also understand my chest pains and breast pains and stabbing sensations and also why, since I fell for my current love Paul. I keep accidentally calling him Michael (despite having known him for many years before I fell in love with him, so I was obviously aware he was called Paul.. he was our child in that past life, Michel) So many more things make sense. God rest their souls, mob surely wasn't acting on the authority of God but their own cruelty which they tried to justify as Gods work. What a terrible tale.

I've no hesitation in giving this episode a firm thumbs up. As for the actions of all; and I mean all those involved, it's a very definite thumbs down. Living in the Pendle area of east Lancashire (UK), we unfortunately have a certain notoriety for a witch trial that took place in 1612. But even that didn't sink as low as what was going on about the same time in mainland Europe. I sure hope the God of compassion and forgiveness they acted as Earthly moral arbiters for has finds it within thy Divine self to give them another chance of life to atone for their heinous sins. For they, not the family concerned that are the truly guilty parties here. But beyond that, the vid itself let's a reiki practicing, TCM advocate revel in the seemingly enlightened times he has been borne into...for all its failings. Happy Crimbo all!

I always wonder whether Jesus weeps and regrets ever setting foot on Earth considering the amount of pain and intolerance that has been enacted on undeserving people on the account of his name. I dare say that Christianity might be the most bloody religion in human history bar none. The INJUSTICE!!!... Maybe we've worshipped a blood-thirsty God all along...

Whether someone is innocent or guilty is hard enough to prove or slant when it's in our lifetime.. Are you seriously trying to go back that far and slant the story so much that only what you deem to be reality is what actually happened?
