Speaking of can we talk about the makeup work on those council members? They aren't just humans with random stuff. Glued to their faces, they all look distinct and clearly following diffrent evolutionary paths from humans

The best scenes in Orville are the ones in silence. A very strong method used by the Orville.

Also his voice, all of his lines you just hear how hard he's fighting to keep his composure, right till the end when he finally shouts, just lets that righteous rage all out

As a trans person, this storyline means so much to me. I know that some might not consider Topa trans, but the reaction of her father, her species, and her community resonates deeply with issues that trans kids face every day. I am so grateful they didn't make this just one or two-episode plot, it crossed over throughout the series, and it became a key focus to the whole of the Orville storyline.

Yeah, I completely agree, and even though I may consider myself conservative, and I’m a straight white male christen, these people are still people, and they are uncomfortable in their current body, and it makes me so fucking angry that the people I side with want these people dead or worse. I don’t know if I said this correctly, but please let me know if what I said was confusing

Id say topa is like "double trans" if that makes sense. Originally born female, forced against her will to be surgically altered as male, and then back again after discovering the truth.
