I love how Bortus doesn’t ignore just how prejudice Moclus truly is and that they often play the victim when they don’t get their way.

I really think that Seth McFarlane really just wanted to write Star Trek, so he disguised the early episodes of The Orville as "a parody", and by the time it was clearly no longer a parody, it was too much of its own thing to call a ripoff. And it leads to awesome moments like this.

Chills and tears when Bortis shouts, "You are Liars, and you are butchers. And you must answer for your crimes!"

You know you F'd up when the Cenobite representatives from the Hellraiser world think you went too far.

Simply powerful, not only was he defending his daughter, but the way he stared down his people, you can tell he was officially renouncing his entire planet.

After everything that's happened in the show before now, seeing Moclus getting kicked out was incredibly satisfying 😊

The way Peter Macon's (Bortus) voice went from cracking taking about his daughter, to absolute rage at the Mochlan's brutality shows what an excellent actor he is. Well done!

I think the most satisfying part about their expulsion was that it was a member of their own race… one raised on their traditions… not only standing up to them, but calling them out for all the injustices they’ve done. Not just to his daughter but for every female they’ve wronged, and for every action that they’ve taken on other matters too.

"You must ANSWER.. for your CRIMES!" Oh man when Bortus speaks with passion, you can just FEEL it. The character is usually so controlled, you KNOW that when he's trying hard to hold it together and he's still getting emotional, it's a big deal!

The emotion Bortus showed was strong, and you can tell from the looks of the council members that they finally ran out of patience and tolerance for Moclus

Fun fact: this was filmed in the Walt Disney concert hall auditorium. Behind the banner is a weird pipe organ

I loved the part at the end, any other show would have had the Union compromise their ideals for the sake of drama. Not this show. It was made very clear that the Union’s chances without the Moclans was very close to zero, but after seeing what the Moclans did they stood anyways.

From the joke of peeing once a year, to turning it into a badass ceremony, to this... Incredible.

Bortus' saying "... my child! .." is just a dagger through the heart. Peter Macon killed those two words.
