Absolutely, that opener has some serious potential to engage prospects right off the bat. For those looking to further optimize their cold calls, remember the '3x3' research method-spend no more than 3 minutes trying to find 3 pieces of information about the prospect or their company to personalize your call, which can significantly increase your success rate. Keep it relevant, concise, and focused on the value you can offer them.

Ronens tonality and cadence is other-worldly. Holy moly. Even his responses to your questions Matt. His "that's exactly right" is like hugging my grandma in her cashmere sweater while a gentle summer breeze caresses my face carrying the scent of homemade peach and raspberry cobblers, sweet tea and suntan lotion.

I get cold calls almost daily with the overly excited "Hey Mike, how you've been?" I find it dishonest when a cold caller uses a tone like he knows me. It's not a good way to start a possible chat. So just be upfront and tell me why you are calling with a positive tone. No games.

@@louisowens5723 Short version: Exceptionally well. Made it to all 4 rounds. 4th round went the best. Was down to 3 candidates. I didn't get the job. When I asked for feedback they stated one candidate blew them away. I asked for specifics, but that was all they gave. 1 week later I got an offer from a completely different company, in a different market, for 15K more base, plus monthly commission, and quarterly bonuses. It was a wild turn of events. I couldn't be happier. These videos combined with my experience, without question, prepared me well.

This would never work over here in Germany. People would literally think I'm handicapped.
@MattMacnamara

What would work in Germany?
@ormus64
11 күн бұрын
@@MattMacnamara German culture despises cold-calling and outbound sales at a whole. The laws are incredibly strict and although they barely get enforced, the mentality is imprinted within the people. I work for a US cyber security SaaS company as a SDR. Literally the first sentence they told us during onboarding was: "Any video you've watched on KZread regarding how to be a SDR, how to cold call, that was created by somebody from the US - forget about it right now. Erase the knowledge. It doesn't work over here." And yea, they're right. Before that, I was a SDR at a different company. I was being CRUSHED. I've watched tons of content by great content creators like yourself and many others, and it just doesn't work here in Germany. If you start a cold-call and the first thing you ask is "how are you?" you already lost all credibility. At that point you're a scammer or a fraud or a slimy sales person. Nobody gives af how you are. I had C-Levels ask me "stop pretending like you care how I am, I don't know you." *hangs up & blocks my number*. Now expand that to just calling and starting the call by only dropping your name... They would literally think you're not right in the head. Not in a metaphorical sense, but a literal. Any person over the age of 40 would think there's something seriously wrong with you. To expand on that: The typical german sales culture revolves all around inbound, conferences, ACTUAL networking (not LinkedIn), word of mouth. Outbound is frowned upon and I personally believe it's a huge malus for german economy. Companies here are so slow to adapt to anything, and it's easy to understand why. If I'd have the proper experience & credentials and I wanted to make tons of money, I would become a dedicated german SDR content creator.
If someone calls and says "How've you been" or "How are you" I put up my defenses even more. I do use the first name with a friendly tone which does work. Most of the time you have to get past the Gatekeeper first so this technique works After getting past the Gatekeeper who will surely say-Who are you and why are you calling my boss, CEO, Controller, etc? I usually make sure I get the name of the Gatekeeper first and makes sure I am super friendly and appreciative of their help. Without them opening the gate-you can't even use this script. What is your Gatekeeper script? This script is assuming the Gatekeeper actually put you through to the decision maker.

Hey Matt, I'm a high school senior and would like to know if you could give me your perspective on my question. Is it worth going to university/college to pursue tech sales? If so, what are the best degrees to graduate with? Do you think tech sales will keep thriving into the next decade despite the current tech job market? Thanks, hope to see you at 1 MILL subs one day.
@MattMacnamara
5 ай бұрын
If I was a high school senior today, I wouldn’t go to college. There is a single thing I learned in college that I use in my job…waste of money, in my opinion. Does a degree help to get jobs? Yes, but you can break into tech sales without a college degree. Yes, I think tech sales will be strong into the next decade even with the current job market, but there are so many other industries that are good too…manufacturing sales, medical device sales, etc…so many industries out there.
