The Only 4 Knots You'll Ever Need for Carp Fishing | Harry Charrington

Спорт

Not sure which knots you should use for carp fishing? In this video Harry Charrington talks through the only knots he uses and there's just 4 of them. Learn how to tie them and when to use them.
First, the ever faithful grinner knot. Great for attaching your mainline to leaders, hooks or swivels.
Next, using the same technique. The back to back grinner knot, perfect for joining two materials together.
Then, the classic knotless knot. A fantastic knot for attaching a hook that is the basis for most modern day carp rigs.
Finally, the figure of eight loop knot. A neat, tidy and very strong knot to form loops in any material.

Only knit I use for bass fishing. I've also caught a 33 lbs grass carp on 15 floro. So I for one trust it completely. It's never failed me

It’s a great knot, but If you are starting out and learn the Grinner you don’t really need the palomar as they do the same job. Equally once you know the grinner there are extensions of that knot that you will need at some stage in your fishing👍

It’s also one of the very easiest to tie if you aren’t used to holding fiddly loops of line, and the knot itself doesn’t contain lots of loops. It’s hard to see and very light in weight.

Does the back to back grinner knot work for joining mono to fluorocarbon?

Good knot for sure but not as easy and universal as the back to back grinner 👍

Which button? Knots for fluorocarbon all the knots mentioned work. Just ensure you are using strong fluorocarbon 0.35mm and above

Much easier to do a figure of eight loop knot with a baiting needle pass the needle though the second loop twist then pull though the fist loop buy putting it in the latch of the needle. Easy stuff (and you can make them nice and small)

Many different ways to do it all work. This knot can also be used to loop to loop leaders on to your mainline in which case you need it to be much bigger 👍 on hooklinks Harry prefers a bigger loop that extends from the anti tangle sleeve, this gives that section of the rig more stiffness and reduces tangles. Just his preference like having a small loop is yours

@@fox_international yes I agree with larger loops for leaders and for PVA bag work I was referring to the hook link when using quick links and sleeves Try it with a baiting needle it works really well and you can control the size of the loop better

Don't even need a figure of 8,overhand knot is perfectly good with coated braid. Never had it slip or break in even the snaggiest conditions.

It’s a good knot but no significant advantage over the back to back grinner and harder to learn for beginners
