Akane definitely one of the most smartest in the series. Literally doesn’t take much for her to figure stuff out.

This breaks my heart ngl. Hence why I can't view his current behavior with the recent chapters as comically edgy like most other people are apparently seeing it as. Aqua genuinely did develop quite a bit along the way. He was finallu gonna have his normal life, his peace, his freedom. But just a simple misdirect, a simple overlook, and he lost everything. Specifically, he decided to throw them away, because there's no way anyone should be fine with the very person(s) responsible for their close one's demise/death still out and about and willing to cause more torment to others. I worry so much for Aqua and Ruby right now. Theyre going down a path to Hell that they may never return from.

Exactly 😭😭😭 Everyone calls him edgy and emo but I can’t. He suffered the most out of all of the cast over something that wasn’t his fault, and because of that he can’t even live his life. He enjoys acting but it gives him panic attacks because he feels guilty over being HAPPY. No one noticed that he’s really going through it until recently when Ichigo came back (I was so happy. Finally, some help for Aqua!) He pushes people away because ‘if they stay with him they’ll get hurt’ (Ex: Akane and Kana) and he even used to think that someone like him shouldn’t fall in love until he left his revenge- He’s probably back into that mindset now. I’m glad you noticed him!

The messed up part is when the anime gets to the part where Hikari was essentially statutory raped at ELEVEN YEARS OLD, there's going to be a lot of wtf out loud. That won't be until season 3. Season 2 will focus on the Tokyo Blade Arc and finish when Ruby goes to the dark side. Still I was like WTF when Akane was talking about that statutory rape part and then how Hikari leaked the information that led to the murder suicide. Lot's of messed up stuff.

I feel so awful for Aqua cause it feels like he's being suppressed and held back from getting to just live and freaking enjoy his life. These actual phantoms of Gorou and small Aqua who witnessed the horror of Ai's death up close hang over him. Obviously, with just Aqua alone, I understand it's the determination to make sure the one who hurt Ai truly faces some punishment. But with Gorou, it just feels like Aqua is dragging around the regrets of two lifetimes. The regrets Gorou had over Serena and of not being there to help Ai give birth. Then the regret of being unable to help Ai when she was killed. Having these memories of his former life definitely help him see the bigger picture and have this insight in a way no other person ever could, but it's at such a steep price of robbing him of a life guided by anything other than revenge and pain.

Being able to remember his past life is both a blessing and a curse you could say. I do think this part of Aqua’s story goes to show how he is being held back from living his life like u said. Aqua was free until he learned his job wasn’t finished yet 🥲

Ai wants their children to love normal life 😞 Blind from revenge both are destroying their own future just like ai Aqua just want to kill his father don't understand aftermath Ruby getting on same path of lying as idol as her mother . . Lmao yeah Ichigo did come back and play a part in ruining his peace. Although, Ruby did go to him first iirc. It’s sad they are going against what Ai wanted for them too 😔

For me Aqua during this period basically under a illusion he lying to himself that his revenge finally over,he believes he is free. He living in the fantasy that he is happy, he acting that he is happy but in reality he just lying to himself.

Yeah, Aqua wanted to be free so much that he didn’t think twice. He got the opportunity to actually live his life for a bit. Aqua could’ve chosen to stay free even after learning Hikaru was alive, but he just couldn’t give up on revenge.

@@ZephyrRetro for me its about getting a closure because as long he knew his father still alive he would never make peace with his past self. His intentions is always to torture his dad to make him helpless like he was when Ai died because Aqua is a doctor in previous life and he know he can stop Ai bleeding but he's to helpless to do anything because of his child body. Also what Akane done to Aqua is simply make his PTSD worse and hope for closure become difficult. That's why right now his actions basically do or die because he even doesn't hesitate to use his mother secret as pretext to save Kana while in reality he just want the public to aware and found out about his father identity.

@@MISSWHAT-lp5om Because he started to accept that he is Aqua and not Dr goro. The star eyes are called Deceptive eyes which mean people who had it are a called a perfect liar. Aqua and Ruby had it since infant and can activate it 24 hours because they believe they just given the role to play as Ai children after being reincarnated. Both of them never accepted that they are truly Ai children because they knew who they are in previous life. That's why Akane only can used it when she is acting infront of camera and not 24 hours like Aqua and Ruby. For Ai I think because she never really grasp the concept of love thats why she always said that she only pretend that she love her fans. That's also why she only confess her love for her children in her dying breath because you can only express your true feelings when in your last moment of life.

Star on the left represents lies. Star on the right represents guilt. Befitting for Ruby’s lies and Aqua’s guilt. And Aqua gets both when he realises that he’d been following a trail of lies, to a dead suspect.

At this point I think someone from above is playing around with Aqua's life. I can't stop thinking how convenient it was for two people who admired Ai and who also wished to be reborn, to become Ai's children. Who knows, maybe Crow girl together with her friends were playing with Aqua and Ruby's lives for their entertainment.

@@ZephyrRetro I was thinking of the idea of gods playing with Aqua and Ruby's lives because I was inspired from a mobile game named Evertale. At the finale of this game, the characters were told by two gods they met after defeating all enemies from a castel that ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING that happened in their lives was dictated by them: their friends they met, the superpowers they got, their jobs, families, enemies they fought, the 1000 year old prophecy, the families and friends they lost, their personal life etc. Their world was just a board game created by the gods and they were only their pawns.

Have you played, or at least heard of Koudelka? Forgive me for saying this, but Hikaru should be stopped (mercy killed) at the hands an immediate or extended relative like a twin sister or cousin, who prevents Aqua from going off the deep end from killing Hikaru, and instead, she/they end(s) up killing Hikaru. This individual would explain to Aqua why Hikaru became a killer in the first place, with the individual feeling guilty and responsible for letting Hikaru suffer which led him into becoming the sociopath he is due to the individual herself/themself spared from being used as an outlet by Airi. Then, the individual would immediately follow Hikaru into death, still guilt-ridden and responsible for the suffering Hikaru went through, and for Hikaru's actions that resulted in the suffering caused by Ai's death.

Haven’t played Koudelka but someone else stealing Aqua’s kill could actually be a very good move by Aka now that I think about it. That keeps Aqua’s hands clean and still gives Aqua a chance to learn the truth behind everything. His reaction after this would, if this scenario occurred, would be very interesting to see

I know she's best girl, but seeing her hands covered in Hikaru's blood would be similar to what happened towards the ending of Battle Royale, a novel about teenagers forced to battle to the death. Still, even if Akane were to end up stealing Aqua's kill, she would still have to take responsibility for killing Hikaru.

Yeah there’s definitely a few details we don’t know about Ai and we can tell she was in a dark place before Ichigo met her. The key will be the relationship between Ai and Hikaru. It would be an insane twist if Hikaru was the unwilling participant and Aqua’s reaction to Ai being in the wrong would be very interesting too.

honestly now that i think about, that makes a lot of sense! especially because we're looking through the POV of characters who loved Ai and thought that she was a victim through and through and just wanted to learn how to genuinely love. If it turned out she was the one to force herself onto hikaru, it would explain a lot and would make the story even more nuanced
