Ruby is more heartless in her action, her action can have catastrophic consequences that Ruby wouldn’t take but everyone else, While Aqua’s action are a lot more precise and accurate, hits the mark and always prevents others to take consequences, Aqua always plans that he will take the most blame on.

That's why I like ruby more she doesn't have much screentime neither she has any useful knowledge from her past life like Aqua who was a grown up mature doctor before but whatever she's doing just as pure ruby no Sarina is there in it thats why difference between aqua's and ruby's planning has great differences with or without considerations besides both Aqua and ruby is calculative but ruby's calculations are something I didn't expected from her character literally the power of her father's genes 😅

More to add: Aqua at least tried to push people away from danger, taking action that only exposes himself to it while Ruby brings everyone to danger, effective yet has many flaws.

Yo the end of Rubys arc where she figured why be close to the assistant director and wait till he promoted when she could just get to the director now? by masterminding everything solidified my respect for her character. To me, I’ve never actually seen Aqua manipulate people simply for his gain. He always ends up taking the blame or caring too much like with Akane, who was legit willing to murder for him. I’ve never seen him just be completely selfish and cold the way Ruby had been in that moment; she was like the Devil appearing as an Angel of help when she caused everything! I was blown away.

If I am not wrong, Ruby was shown to have a bright star in her eyes at the beginning of chapter 2 (which imo is the flashforward scene cause Ruby was in an interview) which states that atleast she will have a happy ending. But Im more concerned about Aqua. Man is on straight up Batman mode 💀

Light want to kill anyone in his way including his dad and misa. Aqua wants to take revenge without anyone interfere even if he is using Kana and Akane. I don't know if you read the manga but many times he kept on saying he will do everything himself while using anything he can. Yes he use them but he also trying to protect them, during Akane break up he is using her to find his father. Akane know Aqua is using her but she sad because she cannot help Aqua to kill his dad. Aqua told her he will take care of it and isolate himself from Akane after he got the information from Akane.

Reading to chapter 120 just now and her wanted to be loved by her mom makes it even more sad

I’ve been thinking Ruby will calm back down once she knows Goro is still with her too. Knowing Goro was murdered is part of the reason that triggered her. But knowing that Aqua shares the same burden in avenging Ai and always by her side should bring Ruby back to normal.

I think ever since Aqua got his dark eyes back he is ahead of Ruby again in terms of darkness again but I felt like Ruby got way darker then Aquas first time around. I hope they both will find back to the light together

Yeah, I agree with this. Ruby got way darker the first time, but then Aqua went deeper once he realized revenge wasn’t finished yet. I do think they’ll find the light eventually, but it might be harder for Aqua who lived his entire life in the darkness 😔

Aqua still as an older man feels responsibility with his actions so he accepts the problems that come with it and plans accordingly, however when she's giving into revenge, she's let's herself power trip like "she's got this" and so her plans don't take into account those respectable parameters that make Aqua change it up and understand the wrong he's doing, she's more blinded to it, and aqua has long since accepted it as a child so yes Ruby can be more heartless and cold, because deep down she's still a child who's living out her wildest dreams only to have two traumas yet again rip it away from her

Chapter 120 is out. *Spoiler* And it seems even though Ruby started to think everyone is a liar, there is one last lie she still believes as truth. So i wouldn't surprise if she get even darker from this point.

I do think Ruby will get over her problems eventually, as we see in the flash forward, but she will prolly go to a very dark place first, which is what we’re seeing transpire now. I also really like the connection with both her mothers being liars.

@@ZephyrRetro Characters with black stars can show pure stars. Aqua had black star at the age of 4 but we see that his eyes were bright star multiple times. Same goes for Ai. When she talk with Gotanda, she had pure black eyes but she had bright stars in every other scene. What i am saying is, Ruby can get over with her problem in this arc or can get even worse after this arc. Normal star eye she had in chapter 2 does not limits the posibilities.

Sarina/Ruby is arguably the most important character alive in Oshi No Ko, change my mind.

Thing is you're right but most people miss that somehow. Everything that happens is because of Ruby/Sarina. Gorou loved Ai because of Sarina. He went down this path because he felt like he failed Sarina because he couldn't save her. Aqua's whole revenge path is because of Sarina. Ai died and he felt like he failed to protect Sarina's love.

And now after Chapter 133, the consequences of Ruby's past actions during her dark star arc are starting to appear

While she was stabbed, she said "To me, lies are truth" something like that let me watch the clip again 😅

this makes so much sense

I think it would be I think it would be interesting to make a video about the most powerful oshi no ko characters the reason why I think it would be interesting is because how complex power in this series is you could define power as who has the most powerful connections or maybe you could define power in pure acting or strategic skill overall I think it would be interesting to find out who's the strongest character overall because there are so many variables that make a strong character in this series.

I think it’s Ruby didn’t get much development for a while, so she’s been trailing behind Akane and Kana unfortunately who already have a large fan base. I feel like she’s getting more recognition now at least.

@ZephyrRetro most of her development was in the first episode. And they kept sprinkling her past in s1 and later on in the Manga. But as I always say, you don't need alot of development to be a great character. Her writing alone is top tier. Her arc alone gave her development a big boost and that last chapter definitely should boost her popularity.

Creepy smile with that reusable dialogue "I am going to use everyone as a tool" obviously doesn't make him badass considering how dumb he is to connect simple dots to solve his father's death unless some side characters have to knock some senses on him besides akane did the most important and major part in the show her intelligence can be called quite higher she just need to stop being emotional besides don't forget she never corrected Aqua's misunderstanding of his father's death but still carried out the whole process of investigation all alone as an individual so no matter how much villain this siblings get they're still nowhere near to akane this two still on quite same range except Aqua has past life advantages and got most screen time compare to ruby.

I'm genuinely curious what the people calling Oshi No Ko mid are smoking. cuz it's gotta be some of the strongest stuff in existence.

I think eventually they will find out about their past lives and make peace. If they joined forces and stopped being stubborn they could bring Hikaru to justice. In fact, if they were open to all of the people in their lives they could have more support than by scheming and utilizing people as mere tools for a goal. If that were to take place in the final arc(s) it would be a very satisfying thematic payoff. It breaks the established consensus that lies are love. Because they're really not. They're an impediment to attaining real love.

Once they learn about the other’s past life, I believe they make peace with each other as well. I think you bring up a good thematic point as well. If they stop lying to others, they could have a larger group to support their ambitions, which would be an excellent payoff. Like I’m sure a lot of the characters we’ve met already that are close to the siblings would be willing to help them achieve their ambitions, Rather than Aqua being self destructive.

That’s a fair point. Ruby is still a child at heart too while Aqua really doesn’t believe he has anything to live for besides revenge. He lived his entire life for that one goal. Not to say Ruby can’t still pursue revenge, but she’s more likely to get stopped or saved before completely losing herself, unlike Aqua, who is already pretty much gone off the deep end lel

For me, even after ch 122/123, i still feel like dark ruby might come back again, but moore darker than the current aqua
