If I was a teen in LA at the Soul Train studio during this performance, I couldn't even dance anymore. I'd be too enamored with the performance.

What a performance. When the MIGHTY O'JAYS WERE IN THEIR PRIME. And they were absolutely great in concert. These brothers put on a fantastic live show. Real talent real singing!

I was born in 1969, but I love this music. When I.m going through rough times in my life, I put on some old school, cry, and get on with life. Thank God for groups like the O'Jays.

@Mary Johnson ~ you are not alone! This was my era and we did what you did. My kids were born in the ’70s and they did what me and you did. Their children were born in the 90’s and still HALF of them can relate and love my era music. It was and Is REAL DEAL ✊🏾

Walter is just so smooth. I love listening to him. He's subtle but so important to each song.

I can't watch this without crying. It's perfection. The song. The steps are INCREDIBLE. The delivery. It's definitely a live performance for it to be Soul Train. They had the audience's attention completely. No one is doing this anymore at all. 2022 and there's no competition to this performance

Went to one of their concerts with jaw swollen from an abcessed tooth...Even though I had been there for the show the night before and having seen them at least 8 times at that point! No one but the Ojays could make me get out in that condition! I was not disappointed!

OMG!! We had SO MANY awesome groups back in the day!! They always sung and performed with such excellence. I’m glad to have been a part of that era of music. ❤❤❤

The OJays are one of the greatest groups ever!!! & The sounds of Philadelphia musicianship was/is timeless & second to none!!!!

" Stairway to Heaven " is just a beautiful song... All I can say, " With the weight of the world on my shoulder, I am still walking the roads of today and tomorrow. But I will stop sometimes... to still a moment of pleasure from my past. Yes, she's my corner of the world just like heaven... sweet heaven... heaven...

There are no singers like this anymore, and it's just sad. I saw them in concert in the late 70's at the Circle Star in Redwood City. It was a fantastic place because no matter where you sat you could see everything and stage went around in a circle. I was sitting in the front row on "Star Aisle" and they were singing this song. When they got to the part where Gerald was doing his wo wo wo and rubbing his body he was looking right at me. I don't scream at concerts, but I could not help myself. Gerald and Walter's voices just meshed. These men could SING!

So smooth then EDDIE comes in like a Lion roaring ! Still listening in 2022

Everybody from that era came from the Chittlin circuit and played cabaret venues, nightclubs and theaters 100% live and kicking! Don Cornelius chose who he thought deserved to perform live because it was extremely expensive to produce back then! All acts on Soul Train could perform live because that's how they made their living! Stop the disinformation of the culture!🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁

It is my belief that their music did not get the play time on the radio's that they should have gotten,and that's why it took the Rock and roll hall of fame so long to recognize their timeless music. My brother I feel the same way that you feel about the length of time it took for the music world to recognize such awesome music . I might be wrong it is my humble opinion that just maybe the message in these legendary brothers music was too rich and real for the hall of fame to accept & understand.

The OJAYS and their music are timeless .MFSB gave their music a richness other groups did not have. Thank you GAMBLE and HUFF for creating that PHILLY sound. My all time favorite group.

Your post is so spot on. The other day, I was reading a comment by a young man who had loaded a reaction video and he said he had never heard of the Ohio Players. Another couple didn't know at least 99% of the artists in the We Are the World video. I nearly choked when one of them looked at Diana Ross and asked "who is that?" Good advise to not just black young men, but all. It seems dads nowadays are not instilling the basic tenets to future generations. But your sound and excellent words mean so much to "ALL"

I'm 68 and I've always loved this song one of my old school favorites.👍🏾My sister loved it also, she passed away at the age of 72 and her husband played this song at her funeral. Rest In Heaven Sis I Miss You!🕊🕊

Had free tickets every time a group came in town. Seen these cats more than any other group. Showmanship, songs, gentlemen. The real deal. All time favorite....EVER!!!

I'm listening, the O'Jays is another one of my favorite groups. They move so smooth and their voices are heavenly it sends chills through you. Walter Williams, William Powell and of course Eddie Levert Sr. are three men that can't be touch!! I love them!!❤❤
