Consummate professional. I loved game shows as a kid and watched him on "Wizard of Odds" and "High Rollers". The game show network Buzzr is running Classic Concentration and he was really good as host of that show as well.

@@jerzeykowboy9425 When Trebek started on Jeopardy, I remembered him from "The Wizard of Odds", I didn't know about "High Rollers". He will always be best remembered for Jeopardy, of course, but I think the description they used for him on that first show, the "wily wizard", is fitting for his wide knowledge and his skill as a host. Hard to believe he himself forgot that first show's name. RIP.

@@Scubaguy12 My favorite game show out of Canada was "Talkabout" hosted by Wayne Cox. I think that would be a great reboot....or at least let's have some reruns of it on Buzzr.

I actually cried last night when Alex said his final goodby yesterday. I have been recording the show for the past two weeks so I still can look at how wonderful Alex and the the show has been. He was so brave. I do like Ken Jennings very much and think he is a good choice

I think who ever it is that is lucky enough to get the job.... will never be as good as Alex was, but we should all be hopefully the show picks up and goes forward.....as I'm sure that's what Alex would have wanted.... and we will be blessed if it does, for it's one of the best game shows of all time.

Mayim Balik just fits the role like a glove! I can’t explain why, maybe it’s her background or whatever. She just fits the role perfectly!

I remember watching Ken Jennings as a contestant on Jeopardy . Mr Trebek , on his show , spoke of how likable and genuinely nice Ken Jennings was as a person . I am Glad he has been chosen as the new host ! RIP Alex Trebek .

I'd say the best thing about Alex Trebeck....is that he made my mom very happy. When Jeopardy came on ... she was in her realm. I was always amazed at how many of the answers my mom would shout out so fast...she really should have tried out. RIP Mom and to Alex too.

I felt even before Alex got sick that Ken Jennings should replace Alex when he retired. Sorry to see it happened this way, but always felt it was inevitable. Good luck Ken you deserve the position.

I thought Ken would do well in the host position from the beginning, and he is. I have been watching him and he is doing well. Alex would be proud. Of course no one can fill Alex's shoes and Ken isn't trying to. Ken needs to make the show his own, just like Alex did. Ken liked and respected Alex, he will honor him, throughout his career as host of the show. I wish him well.

I am hoping the producers of Jeopardy will choose Ken Jennings; he has been guest host for a while and he continues to improve! He will make a fine permanent host!

I thought Jennings didn't want it, but I'm thrilled he was chosen.

I was really hoping Mayim was going to replace Alex! Great personality and so intelligent.

Let us also not forget that, like Tom Bergeron, Ken Jennings also has some experience hosting a game show as well, as he did just that after his epic run on Jeopardy. I also totally called it that Ken Jennings was going to replace Alex Trebek as the host of Jeopardy.

No one can fill Alex Trebek’s shoes. He will truly be missed. Rest In Peace. My deepest condolences for his family.

No, no one can fill Alex Trebek's shoes. They shouldn't even try (and I think the folks who will guest host will be intelligent enough to know that). They will be their own host--not Alex, but themselves. And I think that's what Alex would have wanted.

😏 From someone who remembers when Art Fleming hosted Jeopardy, suffice it to say I am a longtime fan of this game. Alex was terrific as the host, and I miss him a lot. He was a class act from beginning to end, and brought an incredible dignity to his final days as host. RIP, Alex Trebek. 😔 💕 Ken Jennings is a good choice to host now; he is personable, affable, and easy to like. I hope this keeps up. I wish him all the best. I saw something I think should be shared here - I saw it not long ago, and it still tickles me. It was one of those signs where you have a lot of letters and can compose your own statements and change them at will. This sign read, "Somewhere in the sky, Sean Connery and Alex Trebek are playing Celebrity Jeopardy." 😸

However, if they name Katie Couric permanent host of Jeopardy! Sony will be screwed and Steve Harvey will continue hosting Family Feud. I loved watching Ken guest host. I hope he becomes the permanent host. He's not Alex, and we don't want or expect him to be. He brings his own style and I believe Alex would be very proud and satisfied to have Ken hosting Jeopardy!

Was glad Ken got to host and after watching him the last 3 weeks, I can easily accept him as the new host. He has done a great job and I feel Alex would've be pleased. Go Ken!!!

I think Ken Jennings is the perfect choice. I looked at Jeopardy checking out the different house from time to time, and Ken seems to be so at ease with reading the questions just like Alex did... I haven’t watch Jeopardy in a little while, because it seems to of lost its appeal on how the questions are asked. Sometimes they are asked in a confusing way, but when Ken was reading the questions out, it was just like having Alex back out there again. He would read them with such assuredness, and responded just the way Alex would’ve been the question what is not answered right. I have been for Ken Jennings when I first saw him replacing Alex. No one can replace Alex but I believe Ken Jennings will be the best replacement.

Ken Jennings is an excellent choice. He will be a tribute to Alex’s memory and excellent hosting of Jeropardy.

Ken Jennings keeps the family feeling of Jeopardy alive. Alex would have been proud. I marvel at the fact that I feel that Ken Jennings actually knows the answers to all the questions. Why would they even bother trying the other two. Katie Couric. You must be kidding..

The BEST CHOICE is Ken Jennings, I watched him the last few years an I feel he's the perfect choice. Alex will truly be missed but I think he would approve of Ken carrying the torch, 🔦.

I like his style so far so good I've been tuning in watching every evening watching the former Jeopardy champ. I love at the end when he says thank you Alex. Works for me as a viewer of the show.

Alex will be sorely missed. However, Ken is the perfect replacement choice. I'm so happy for Ken.

I'm sure Alex would have hand picked Ken. He has always appeared humble, connected easily with Jeopardy fanbase, and showed Alex tremendous admiration and respect before and following his passing. Excellent decision!

If Alex entrusted Ken as his heir apparent, I will look forward to his shows.

I think Ken Jennings is the perfect choice. He seems to possess the same personality as Alex Trebeck. He is warm & friendly & truly wants the contestants to win. He always incorporates Alex's words & ways on every show. Kudos to Ken if he is the chosen one.

Today, May 3, 2021. So far the temporary host of Jeopardy, the best I have seen is Aaron Rodgers. He states the show has always been his fav and he was a champion on it. He was calm, entertaining and clearly spoken.

Loved the show, loved Alex and know how hard it will be to fill his shoes. Ken Jennings is a great choice, he's smart, fast, affable and very familiar to Jeopardy fans. Love the way he paid tribute to Alex on his first show, and even more the way he thanks Alex at the end of every game. Hope it works out, and Jeopardy continues on as one of the greatest of all game shows!! 👍👍🙋‍♀️🤗

Before Alex passed away I was hoping Ken would be chosen as his replacement, so I'm extremely happy for him and us. Alex knew Ken would end up carrying the torch and he's done an excellent job so far. Alex can never truly be replaced, but Ken is loved and will do honor to Alex and the greatest and smartest game show ever created. Thank you, Merv Griffin.

I wanted to watch James more , a kinda cool dude , so smart with his money bets. I just couldn’t believe a man in tha gambling world had mad such a success out of that line of work. Very fascinating- and his laugh was very fun to watch! So Thankyou to James for the few times he did laugh!

I gave goosebumps listening to this commentary. Ken was my choice “HANDS DOWN”. Congratulations Ken!

ken Jenning is doing a great job in carrying on with the same calm friendly attitude. He is trust worthy as a host who is just as knowledgeable if not more than the contestants.

Aaron Rogers is #1. He did a great job hosting and we loved how he hosted his 2 weeks.

I like him too but I’m sure Mike Richarrds(the producer) et al probably thought he was too much of a character. Which is what I liked about him however they need someone more demure. I think Ken is a great choice. Congrats from Montreal. Et merci Alex pour 35 and de perfection. Thanks

There is no instead he is the perfect person to fill in the void Uncle Alex permanently left--Ken is a fairly young- smart- congenial-I believe they are preparing him- by his being on other game shows made it easier for the transition. Uncle Alex will always be associated with Jeopardy- but my watching the show since it first aired 36+ years ago leaves me to believe Jennings mannerisms are similar to Uncle Alex's. and the audiences will except him.

I believe Betty White came to prominence on the Mary Tyler Moore Show long before The Golden Girls.

Betty White was a popular star in the fifties and had her own show. "The Betty White Show" for a few years. She was very well known long before the mary Tyler Moore show. Shes should be sainted for her devotion for humane animal treatment.

Love Ken Jennings.. all the guest hosts so far have been really good yet Ken Jennings is my favorite. I was talking to my husband about Ken being a great replacement a while ago. I think he is the perfect choice.

Loved watching Jeopardy. Always kept an eye on the time to make sure I had it to the right channel on time. Will always remember the day of his passing, it was also my late mothers birthday.

Been watching since the 80’s. If Anderson would have been chosen to host. I would have never watched Jeopardy again.

I really enjoyed Aaron Rodgers. I looked forward to each of his shows,He was kind ,entertaining and very notligable.Loved his voice and sense of hummer. I'm sure he made the contestants comfortable. I hope he gets to do the show.

I think Ken was the best choice!! He's young, personable, intelligent and down-to-earth. I think Alex is looking down and is very pleased with this choice. I love how Ken thanks Alex at the end of each show.

Hey! If Alex himself says a person can be the “star” of the show (narrator says that the guests are the stars of the show) in case he retires, just let him be the”star” of the show

I couldn't be happier. Ken was my first and only choice. Not only his love of the game but his personality blends so well with the contestants. I think Alex would be proud of him.

It may not be the same, but it can be equally enjoyable with the right host. They need someone with the warmth of Mr. Trebek, but who can also make it their own. I believe Ken Jennings is that person.

We need Ken Jennings! I loved it when Ken said “Thank you, Alex!” at the end of every episode he hosted.

I was totally shocked to see what a fantastic job Ken Jennings has done hosting Jeopardy. I was not at all for him filling in on Jeopardy. I thought he would be showing off how intelligent he is and not be a natural on camera. Boy was I WRONG! The way he honors Alex and keeps things moving along and interacts with the contestants is flat out incredible! Thank you....Ken Jennings.

Ken Jennings is a great choice. He has the same calm sophistication that Alex brought to the show.

I’ve been a huge fan of Ken Jennings since he was a long-time Jeopardy champion, and am so glad they made him the new host!!! Of those being considered, he was the only sensible choice.

I didn't see Alex as welcoming or comforting. He represented a axemia a smart, knowledgeable man with great professionalism that made each show impeccable by his expertise, calm and confidence. I like the new choice I see many of those qualities in him. RIP Alex. Good luck to the new host

Aaron Rodgers did an AMAZING Job! He had a very good time teasing the contestants. I loved his expression of mock horror when all three contestants couldn’t come up with a Green Bay Packers’’ !! ‘’Really guys?’’ ‘’You couldn’t come up with the Packers?’’ Wow. Wow indeed Aaron! It’s true, no one can hold a candle to Alex. But I’ll bet Alex is cheering him on. If you didn’t catch him during 2 week trial stint, go to Hulu and check him out.
