In this video, we take a deep dive into the rise and fall of the former Today show anchor, tracing his journey from beloved morning show host to disgraced pariah. We explore the details of the allegations against him, including the disturbing rape accusation by former NBC employee Brooke Nevils, and examine how the scandal unfolded in the public eye.
But the story doesn't end there. Now, over six years after his sudden firing, sources say Lauer is plotting a potential comeback and wants to return to the media world in some capacity. We delve into his efforts to lay the groundwork for a professional rebirth and the challenges he faces in seeking to rehabilitate his image.
Along the way, we hear from insiders about Lauer's life since the scandal, including his quiet existence on Long Island, his relationship with PR executive Shamin Abas, and his continued defiance in the face of the accusations against him. We also explore the wider implications of "cancel culture" and whether society is willing to forgive and forget when it comes to once-powerful men brought down by misconduct allegations.
This is a story that raises complex questions about power, accountability, and redemption in the #MeToo era. As Lauer reportedly plots his next moves, it remains to be seen whether he can successfully chart a path back to relevance or if his legacy is forever tainted by the shadow of scandal.
Join us as we unpack the stunning saga of Matt Lauer and grapple with the thorny issues it raises. How do we balance the desire for justice with the possibility of second chances? What does it take to earn forgiveness in the court of public opinion? And what lessons can we learn from this cautionary tale of a once-mighty figure laid low by his own alleged misdeeds?

@@CloakedandDaggered He was accused of a crime though. With that being said, the woman who accused him of SA, also said they went on to have a consensual relationship which, imo makes no sense whatsoever. It makes me question the validity of her claims. I haven't researched it enough to believe he shouldn't be able to make a come back though. I believe in redemption for most. This involved adults, not minors.

The one with Sandra Bullock was horrifying. He kept saying, and kept saying, that he wanted to see her naked, even though she was clearly humiliated by it. But he wouldn't let it go. Then he said something like, "I hope you'll come back" (seriously!), and she said, "No, I won't."

He not only has breached the trust of his wife, kids, friends and family but of us, the public. He thinks we will forget about his sleazy character after 6 years. No, he has shown what kind of man he is and I wouldn’t trust him to tell me the time. His bad behavior wasn’t over the course of a weekend but was over many years and with many women. He’s still an arrogant and entitled predator to think we would forget.

Putting him back in the media will give him power to eventually do it again.

If he is searching for relevance, and to return to working in media, he has to have some credibility and be able to earn the public trust. As well, what advertiser would be willing to foot the cost of him working again. He gave it all up, his credibility, his relevance, and reputation to fulfil his base desire. He can't come back. If anything, he should pursue anonymity and be very active in helping people who have suffered if not at his hands then others who have faced similar treatment.

And for all you starstruck people out there your favorite diesnt care about you either. He just got jammed up. Many others have gotten away with it and will continue. They throw them under the bust to save their own reputation. I used to work at a store in the 80s where many, and i mean many celebrities shop. Typical narcissist. Just go away and stay away. You want a comeback because of that ego and how it feeds on the praise, power, relevance and fame of being in media. If Matt Lauer makes a comeback I hope Bill Cosby, R Kelly, P. Diddy, Harvey Weinstein and Charlie Rose get their return and forgiveness.

There are many things a person can do in this world besides media. I think that many would still not want to see him in an on camera job. However, maybe his biggest problem is still believing that he is a victim. If he still believes that, who would want to hire such a delusional person?

If Bill Clinton can now be considered an elder statesman why can’t Matt Lauer be allowed to return to his profession. Monica Lewinsky has become the butt of jokes and Clinton almost became the husband of a president.
