I knew he had some kind of personality defect or mental disorder, but didn't know it was narcissism, until about a year after I ended the relationship. After each breakup, I always took him back because I blamed his behavior on his extremely abusive childhood. However, each time I took him back, he was worse. As he got older, instead of learning, growing & becoming wiser, as we usually do, he became more impatient, selfish, & cruel. I've watched a lot of videos & have done much studying on the subject of narcissism & it fits him perfectly. I've gone no contact for three years & am so much better for it. You've explained it all very clearly in this video. Thank you.

Day 79 no contact. Still counting the days on my healing journey. Not only no contact, I also moved away. Got away from all the people and places that reminded me of the narcissist. The people were the narcissist's friends. I was isolated during the relationship, used to being by myself. So it was not hard moving to a new place where I don't know anyone. I currently have no friends nor family for support. Thank you for these videos. They are supporting me during my healing.

Brandon, bless you , men get abused by women too . I have seen it . I can’t say I know exactly how you feel because I’m a woman who took 25 years of abuse from my X partner. Yet I can imagine that it’s extra hard for a man , we all feel shameful and we all say why me . Don’t be ashamed, just make sure you realise that you have a responsibility to work out why you were picked. I had an abusive mother and a father that didn’t give a shit , so it wasn’t hard to work out why I was picked . I am now dealing with healing myself from my childhood abuse so I never make this mistake again. So please think about why you were picked and heal you . Much love to you xxx

My ex narc would never do that because he is afraid that the new supply could see that I am not the bad person he tells her and he is a coward and liar, so too afraid I could tell her anything about what he did… and she seems very narcissistic and arrogant too, so she doesn’t care about the mother of the child she spends time with…

Kami Kaze Ditto, on the "asking for cuddles." It's such a low feeling. This must have been in the devaluation phase - I left before the discard. (2nd time around) They WILL try to contact you again. For me, it was 10 YEARS later. What a devastating year - sometimes, we have to repeat the same "tragedy" again, until we're able to courageously confront and accept the truth about the horrific damage the narcissist will cause.

Even as a child, my narc mom would deny me cuddles. And later on, she gaslighted me. Saying that I didn't like to cuddle as a child. And when I told her that wasn't true, it was suddenly my father's fault because he didn't like to see her cuddling me. That is complete BS, as I clearly remember sitting on my father's lap but never on my mom's.

I must agree, ive been reading up on codependancy, Narcissism and the effects for 4 years and it took some time to fully understand the scale of it all as well as all the jargon associated with it, and also my part in it all. many other channels ive found over the years are not so well explained or articulated, or go into the depth that Andrew does, Thankyou Andrew for doing what you do, much appreciation and love.

Andrew - you are such a blessing to all of us who have been affected by these narcissists! I am in the beginning of my healing journey after being discarded after a 30 year marriage. Thank you for sharing and teaching all of us that there is hope. After dinner I find myself saying - "hey Andrew - talk to me!" 😊

Thank you Andrew, did not know what Narcissism was until went through the abuse for years. I lost myself and all the things I enjoyed doing because I was more concerned about making her happy and trying to "fix". Repeatedly, will never happen. It takes time y'all. Because when you go no contact, you will feel guilty, and ruminate, think maybe it was you. Get a pen and paper, write down all the times your happiness was stolen by the energy vampire. Now, when she pops into my head, I don't remember the good times. I think "Hell NO, never again will I be treated this way. The key for me is that last part: yes they do think about you, but not in the way you think about them!

I can’t go full no contact as we have a son. Yesterday I had to watch him at the house I used to live with them in! So I had to see her for the first time in 3 months! Things were ok when she first came in, but it all flips back to coldness and annoyance towards me when I wanted to talk about what happened with us! She feels absolutely nothing for me at all! My heart is heavy again! But at least I know definitely that there is no going back like I thought I wanted! She is a completely different person to who I thought I knew!

We were together almost 20 years, and yet she coldly threw me out and threatened to call the police and say I was threatening her when I tried to talk about what happened. I thought I knew her - I was shocked. I knew she had problems from childhood but I didn't even know what a narcissist was. I realized later that she had found a new supply after completely draining me of my energy and self-esteem, and that I was being kicked to the curb. After moving out she wanted to keep ties since we owned a business together, suggesting that maybe we could have a date night or every so often, probably in case the new supply didn't work out. I really couldn't take the emotional roller coaster ride any longer and just sold her my half of the business, packed everything up, and decided to move out of state. This stunned her, and ever since, she has been trying to "hoover" me. Now I can see exactly what she's doing. Every time I talked to her it crushed me, but it helped me to accept that there was no going back. Don't bother trying to talk with her about what happened, she'll never come clean and you'll never get closure that way. I tried for almost 2 years, and I'm sure there are people on this blog who have waited even longer. If she becomes desperate for a fix and wants you back, she'll just lie about the reasons anyway. I've learned the hard way that narcs never take responsibility for their actions. The best thing to do is focus on the fact that the nightmare is over and you can heal. DON'T let her know you still might harbor feelings for her. She won't care and she'll just use it against you. I just act businesslike and unemotional when I need to deal with my ex, and change the subject or end the conversation when she tries to get me to take the emotional bate. She's even tried to evoke jealousy by raving about her new supply. I just say with annoyance and disinterest "yeah, yeah, that's great" and change the subject back to business. It's not always easy for me, and it won't be easy for you, but given time, effort, and a chance to heal, things will eventually become better. The first step is knowing the type of person that you are dealing with.

Excellent! This made so much sense to me. I also found out that while he’s had a few long-term friendships, those friends also suspected he was a narcissist. Over time, when they didn’t need his advice anymore (he’s a life coach and business coach 😂), he started treating them very poorly. he was upset that they no longer revered his leader ship as much as they used to, and this upset him! When they saw what he had done to me, to where he my child was almost removed from my home because of his behaviors, this upset those friends so much, that they no longer kept his friendship.

After two years, he blocked me, so I blocked him. That hurt. I had not done anything wrong. I was the one who was patient with his dirty language,his obvious lies, his love affairs with beautiful women. I listened and understood his need to tell exciting stories. Laughed at his comic routines. He wanted to talk for twelve hours at night. I did it for his need, and my loneliness. He said he was blocking me because I am dyslexic, a slow learner. Said he couldn't take me anymore. That hurt too. He hung up. This is my second year on the roller coaster. I should have gotten off a year ago. I listen to you and other life coaches for help to make it stop. Why can't I give up?

I not only blocked my narcissist, I erased them from my life! Every card, photo, memento, gift, gone! Now I don't heart pains that lasts for days, don't have to take Ambien to fall asleep, don't feel anxious when my phone notifies me of a message. I'm healing. I'm at the point of indifference because of your videos, Andrew. Because you have spelled out what had happened to me so accurately and understandably. Thank you from my entire being.. I'm actually at the point where I don't feel compelled to talk about the attack I suffered. That was then, not now. Some times you just have to be done! I will reply to this forum when I feel like I can help another survivor on their path to positivity, like you did for me.

It all hurts so much. I know you are saying the truth. Watching this video made it hard to breathe, it all hurt so much. I blocked him and his new supply. I’ve been no contact for almost 2 months after 4 very difficult years. Yet today I had to go to a serious MD appointment which unfortunately was 5 blocks away from his apartment. What I’m dealing with medically is hard enough, yet the pain of being forced to walk again by all the places we once went together, combined with the fear of bumping into him and his new supply - omg, cannot describe the despair. I know he is a horrible person. Idk why I feel so devastated. It just hurts to look back and know that you have never been loved.

Not entirely true. I hurt mine more times than I can count and I even discarded him myself three times, married twice during different separations from him, and he still comes back. Mainly because he is convinced that he has done nothing wrong and everything is my fault.

Yes I ruminated like crazy! Constantly! Then I kept reminding myself this man is a horrible person! And I prayed everytime I thought of him or journaled and it all helped!

Such a great video and the 50 others I've watched recently. I'm finally no contact and recieved a visit today. 2 hours of rage and manipulation before I could get him out, he tried it all. It was as clear as day from watching these. I'm still a little numb with the realisation and he usually exhausts me first with the rages, like a child, but i with follow my path to live my best life. I would have dropped no contact before now and gave into him if it wasn't for these videos and when I feel low I'll watch another as a reminder why.

Mine always tried to ask me to contact my friends to help him with his “business”. I’ve lost some already that I don’t know until I reconnected them and they told me how cunning he was. He knows he can’t make friends, so he relies on my social circle, but once I refused to call up my friends for him again, he discarded me.

Did not know what had a hold of me!! Thought no human could possibly be that randomly cruel. Thought I had caused it in some way. However, I didn't know what an Empath was back then, let alone that I was one. Thank you for putting this out there for all who crashed on the rocks they never knew were there.

Great video and message! I changed my number, moved 700 miles and took a different job. I just had some contact via email, but then eventually said "you can write all you want to, but I delete them immediately AND empty the trash like I emptied you into the trash"!!!

The narcissist is NEVER SATISFIED. he looks at his new partner the minute the idealization/love bombing period ends, and the only thing he can think is how he needs to do better, and starts working on lining up the next. Looking back, my ex narc was working hard at lining up the next for about 3.5 years of our 4 year relationship. It just took him a while to find someone “better” because he’s getting older and there’s more competition with younger guys for the younger women he wants.

You are so correct regarding going no contact and blocking. This one only contacted me when he wanted something . I had enough. Maybe he is finally taking the hint.

He'll think of me the first day of each month. He will regret what he has done someday. And then and now it's too late.

They didn't even KNOW us as a human being.

I just can't understand how he would take this new love of his to the same places he took me. Same motel's, same spots at the beach. Restaurants etc. He seemed so genuine that is why I can't get my head around it. I'm suffering to see him with someone else.

Great video with very helpful advice. Going through this myself with absolutely no contact and I can say that each day is a blessing now. I feel great and looking forward to my life without the lies , manipulating and money grabbing

So pleased I discovered Andrew talking about every aspect of the toxic relationship experience . I have watched several on line Narcissistic personality disorder sites and they woke me up to the draining drudgery and soul destroying behaviour patterns I was on the end of . I love returning to theses films as they a wonderful comfort .First time I watched I cried as they were unlocking so much and as he says with love and empowerment to move forward .No contact is the way most definitely I woukd say having a child in the middle of it is another important aspect to deal with at some point as my son is used all the time like shield as well as manipulated and gets the silent treatment which upsets me as he is full of life at 6.

There has not been a day since I left that I've regretted leaving. I tried to caution him for years to treat me with more respect, but he just kept getting worse as time went on. His healing is up to him, but I really don't think that he sees anything wrong with his behavior. He's created the mess that his life is in, but I had to get away for my sanity and safety.
