The mystery of Charlie escaping his grazing muzzle has been SOLVED! And an update on all the horses

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Episode 40
I apologize for not getting a video out sooner! Things have been busy around the farm. WE finally solved the mystery of how Charlie was escaping his grazing muzzle! Wait till you see what he did!
Freya had a vet appointment, so there is an update on how the appointment went along with an update on all the other rescued draft horses here on the farm and the donkeys.
We had a great Thanksgiving with some visitors to the farm from out of town. It's always great to catch up with friends over an amazing dinner!
ALSO, we are having a HUGE SALE, now till Christmas on all our farm fresh goat milk soaps. Meesha Bars are made with ingredients you can pronounce! Pure, high quality, food grade and organic natural plant oils mixed with therapeutic grade essential oils along with goat milk straight from our goat, Meesha.
All our soaps are handmade in small batches using the cold process method. 100% Saponified & Super-Fatted
Free from dyes, detergents, synthetic fragrances and parabens. Made from high quality, natural plant based oils. Hydration for your skin sourced by nature! Our soaps are never overpowering with fragrance, just a hint of therapeutic grade essential oil leaving you feeling refreshed and clean.
Our soaps are full of the good fats that help your skin lock in hydration. All soaps are made by blending a lipid (fat) with lye (food grade sodium hydroxide) and starting the chemical reaction called saponification. In the case of goat's milk soap, it's the natural fats in the milk that contribute to the soap formation. Super-fatted soap is less harsh on the skin.
Goat's milk is rich in helpful fats (specifically caprylic acid) which helps to not only hydrate the skin, but also help remove oil, dirt and skin debris without stripping the protective skin barrier.
Check out everything we have available at fletcherfarmsamarillo.com
(All profits from goat milk soap sales go directly to feeding all our rescued animals.)
WE hope you enjoy this update video on all the rescued Belgian Draft horses and donkeys. Make sure you subscribe to our channel so you don't miss anything happening around the farm.

Thank you to everyone that has sent us gifts of Alfa Pro, we truly appreciate your support and can't thank you enough!
We have had questions asking if we have an Amazon wish list to help with supplies for the horses. Unfortunately, we do not have a wish list because we purchase all our horse supplies from HF&C Supply Amarillo.
HF&C has offered to help us with anyone wanting to send a gift of Alfa-Pro to the horses. When you call, tell them you are sending a gift to Fletcher Farms Amarillo and they will add those bags to our account. Alfa Pro is $15.75 per 50lb. bag plus tax. WE go through about 2-1/2 bags per day to feed all the 7 horses.
Thank you to all of our subscribers and followers for your support, kindness and generosity! We are grateful for everything and don't know what we would do without your support!

These horses are blessed. They seemed to thrive, and that they have peace now. I see that your pastures have some dung in it and something we do in our pastures that keeps the horses more protected from parasites is that we everyday (to not be overwhelmed) pick up the poo. That can later be used in your garden or such when it has "burned". It is a little thing that helps greatly not to transfer worm between horses and your garden thrive. This is not criticism, it is just a tip to keep pastures healthy and your garden too. Thank you for sharing, and thank you to the person sending you Alpha pro! What a great gift. 🙏

A shoutout to FREYA tolerating a rider on her back. I loved to see that her tail is longer now. Horses like her look really better when the tails are not docked. I also liked to watch her gentle way to touch you when you are petting Sophie. And I loved to see Charlie and Jack as "partners in crime". So glad all the horses are well. There are reels of other rescues showing pitiful draft horses which have to be lifted by their helpers to stand on their feet or to be euthanized because they have incurable health issues. Fingers crossed for you and your furry family! 🐞🍀🐞🍀🐞🍀🐞🍀🐞

Tom is an opportunistic hunter and he was waiting to surprise the mouse when he emerged, giving him a myocardial infarction & then it's snacktime. No muss, no fuss & requires very little energy. As for Mike, he made an executive decision & remodeled his condo without a permit. A very minor detail. I would keep an eye on those shady horses. Always lookin cute & innocent while plotting a collaborative move to dispose of a pesky muzzle. The tree decorating was a "take that" to you caregivers. Thx for the video, it was thoroughly enjoyable!!! ✌️😹😹💞🐾🐾🐎🌲 (lil sad about the missing ones).

I just want to tell you thank you so much for saving these horses. It breaks my heart that they were sent to the auction. They had to loose their homes becuz they were old. This is so sad. I don’t know why the Amish did that, although I kind of understand. This brings tears to my eyes. When I get an animal I keep it through to the end of it’s life. That’s just the way it is with me & what I try to do. They don’t really like having a lot of new owners or homes. The Humane Society says that when a cat goes to a shelter, their experience is similar to a child being put up for adoption. That’s why it’s important that people are responsible & committed to the long term relationships that animals need. It’s as hard for a cat to loose it’s home as it is a child they’ve said. Then think of how hard it is for a child. So this is what a cat can go through when loosing it’s home & family. Do you think it’d be any different for a dog? No. I don’t think it’d be any different for a dog. I think it may be even worse for them. Do you think it’d be different for a horse. No. I don’t think so. I think it could be very similar. They are all basically extended family members & I think they even see it that way. To me cats & dogs are just little people. Horses are just big little people. I think you get the point on what I mean. God watches us all & he sees what you did for these horses & is pleased. And so am I. Thank you again. GBU & your horses.

I couldn't agree more! We keep our animals till the end as well and when it coming to making the decision to say goodbye to them, we are there with them till the end and never leave their sides. None of our animals will ever be abandoned or surrendered! I worked in animals rescue when we lived in Las Vegas, Nevada and I saw some horrible things done to dogs. When they are abandoned at the shelter they go into depression because they don't know why you left them at the shelter. I can't imagine what it's like for a horse. We are glad we could save all these beautiful souls and hope to save more in 2023! Thank you for following our story, we truly appreciate your support!

Hi Julie, another great video. I LOVE 💕 your pink jacket! The horses are looking great, especially after their ‘day spa’ session. Well, Charlie certainly showed you what he thinks of his muzzle! 😂 It is fabulous news that he is tolerating the short grass. I’m sure he is pleased to be able to graze again. Anna, no doubt, will be pleased to join the herd and graze. Her introduction to the others should go very smoothly, given the amount of time she has now been at your place interacting with them. Though I have no doubt that Miss Aline will have to assert her dominance! 😂 She is definitely an alpha mare. I am very sorry to hear about your two little kitties. 😟 I have my fingers crossed they may still come home. Your farm is such a haven for the creatures. Thank you for your kindness and the great effort, to say nothing of expense, that you and Corey go to for these animals. I think a therapy pairing would be great for both the horses and the people that visit. Even being able to sit with, brush and talk to the horses will be great therapy. They don’t have to be ridden to be of benefit. And imagine all the extra love 💕 they will have lavished on them, once the people are not scared of their great size. Definitely sounds like a win-win to me. Finally, your Thanksgiving lunch looked awesome! While in Australia, we do not celebrate Thanksgiving, I think it is a marvellous idea. I think we all need to be grateful, for whatever good things we have. Also we need to care for those with very little, just like you are doing with the horses. Take care and thanks for sharing your lives with us. 😀🦘🐨🇦🇺

I would really love to ride horses again, and I’m sure it would help me a lot with my physical disabilities. When I was first declared disabled the doctors didn’t recommend horseback riding, and said I probably wouldn’t be able to walk in 1-2 years. Because of their poor judgment I got rid of my horse, (& miniature donkey) and haven’t ridden since. I did buy a saddle, and tack a couple of years ago thinking that’d put me closer to getting another horse, but things didn’t work out for that.

After my spinal cord injury at the first round of rehab just before Corona I had therapy riding sessions. They did help tremendously - not only with my physical body but also a lot with my mindset and emotions. So it’s really amazing of you to go to this direction! Charly, Jack and the muzzle 😂 Glad he is doing fine without a muzzle at the moment. So sad to hear about the two kittens!😢 Those are amazing new scents for the soaps, I really wish shipping to Germany wouldn’t be so expensive 🙈 There are some scents I would absolutely love to try. And handmade soaps are such a great gift, too! Wishing you and your husband, and all of your animals a lovely holidays!

Jack and Charlie Are best friends 😂😂😂 I hope it wasn’t too Much trouble going from balls of hay to squares hopefully the goats or donkeys can eat it. Will you be getting the horses winter blankets? You can kill the coyotes and I heard shots the other day, so my guess is the neighbors who have cattle took care of them. The horses have really thick coats so our vet recommended not putting blankets on them. They can regulate temperature and if they need to get out of the wind they have access to a lean to and the barn. Hope you had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year...Cory and I ended the year with the flu! But we are on the mend finally and I have a new video uploading as we speak!

WE have a question: Generally, how long does it take (1) person to brush (1) of these beautiful horses? And WHY CAN T YOU PLACE ALL THE CATS IN THE BARN AND CLOSE IT AT NIGHT?????

It actually doesn’t take that long since I try and brush them every other day. Maybe an hour or so to brush them all. The cats…we do lock the barn down at night but the runs for the horses are open so the cats roam out that way under the pipe fencing.

You do such an awesome job. Thank you for all you do for the horses. I have a question. Do you ever try giving the horses commands using some of the Pennsylvania Dutch language? I dont know any I would have to look it up. I do know if they were used as logging horses they would know ha and ghee I believe that's left and right. I wont take anymore of your time. I was just watching and listening to what you wanted to do with them. And I think that's great. I just was thinking how u would communicate with them.

Sorry it took so long to respond…we did watch some videos on commands. They respond to “ho” to stop and if you “click” they go forward. Someone also said try Dutch or German commands. LOL guess I need to take some classes 🤣 thank you for the comment. I will definitely try and figure out what language they know.

❤❤❤Love you guys!! So heartwarming to see how you've helped these Drafts... Question, couldn't Charlie eat steamed hay??? Just wondering if that was possible with his condition.... I watch all the videos , and I get angry seeing how starved these poor horses come into the sale... Those OMISH need to be arrested and all animals taken from them... How do they get away with it?? I k ow not all, but it seems many... I've seen how horrible they treat dogs, too. Is anything being done to stop their abuse??, These GORGEOUS, HARD WORKING EQUINES are amazing and loving.. to see how hard they worked only to be starved and thrown away once they are injured or become too old to keep the arduous work that is forced upon them... I have cried several times seeing the condition, but it's just so awesome to see how much you love them and help them to be happy and healthy ... When Lucky had to be put downI lost it!! I think he was the one with the cancer on his eye... That was so hard to watch...you did your best.... ❤❤❤ we love you and those beautiful Drafts... One day im.going to make an appointment to come and meet you And the horses..

No Charlie can’t eat any hay but we have discovered after this video that he has been ok eating fresh pasture grass. We are so happy that he is able to eat grass. We believe he was just taking in too much hay all at once and not chewing it because of his bad teeth. Eating pasture grass he can only take small bites. The Amish live by different rules I guess…no one can seem to hold them accountable. There is an act passing through congress called the safe act that would end auctions houses. If you are in the US reach out and write to your local congressperson. I don’t talk about controversial things in my videos because I don’t want my channel taken down. Thank you so much for watching and we hope to see you some day out here at the farm!

I clicked on this to find out about Charlie. How many minutes of chit chat before that? It's certainly nice that you put the chapters in, but in which chapter did the TITLE OF YOUR VIDEO take place?

Really admire what you's are doing with saving animals from the slaughter house, well done but on the coyote verse kitten problem do your donkeys have access to the outside at night ? I remember reading that donkeys will keep coyotes away from there territory, they make great guard dogs.

I really don’t know a lot about it, but I wonder if the longer strides of a draft horse would be helpful for someone with physical disabilities. It seems it’d be ok for adults, but I’m not sure about children, or smaller people.
