Anyone saying Helen is acting needs to give their head a wobble. She's a joy, and you and her make a lovely pair - it's refreshing to see a bloke be open about his feelings for his other half too. 🙂

I really like that you and Helen both tell it as it is - no drama - just fair and honest. Thanks for the trip around Padstow and the Rock - we've been to Padstow a few times but never tried the fish and chips. You just did it for us!
What you need to bear in mind is that Rick Stein is a brand so you are paying half the money for the food and half for the name, those fish are involved in two catches of which one is in a trawler net and the other is catching the customer.
Just wanted to say that we look forward to your vlogs with or without Helen, you put so much northern humour and grit into them that is so refreshing. Keep em coming James and Helen and we will keep enjoying them. Kay and Paul.xx
My Mother-in-law was from Cornwall, but I've never been. What the season lacks in warm weather it makes up for in fewer tourists. Thanks for the tour, James!
Just found this channel by pure chance and tucked in to watch a couple of vids (like you do) I’m happy to say I’ve subscribed. There’s something about a calm, honest and personable KZreadr that I like to see !! …… your one of them , keep up the great work buddy 👍

Firstly, Helens a Brahma (as we say in Barnsley) you're always going to have your critics. She's a breath of fresh air and you make a fantastic couple because you're both nutters(in the nicest way possible)lol You're becoming quite the connoisseur of fish and chips, James and I certainly appreciate you giving us the heads up where the best meals are. The best haddock and chips I ever had was from Chish and Fips in Llandudno. Maybe keep that in mind if you're ever up that way! Keep up the great work guys God bless 🙏

Hi James, just watched your video and wow that brought back some happy memories and scary ones too ! We used to holiday every year and camp near Trevone so always visited Padstow at some point, it looks like where Rick Steins fish and chips is where I remember the lobster warehouses used to be ? Can remember going in and looking at all the lobsters that had been caught. Also the house in the harbour with the little window and face, I can remember a little old lady sitting in the middle window dressed in black and white, she used to scare me as she was always sat there when we used to go ! Funny how you can remember things, I must have only been about 7 or 8 years old. Last time I went to Padstow was for a dirty weekend when I first met my husband lol We;ve been married over 30 years now ! Loving the scenery brings back so many memories enjoy your trip, shame Helen has to work.
Best fish and chip packaging. Lovely vlog xx

Madness. Fish and chips was for the masses. A cheap family meal on a Friday. I remember going with a fiver for 4 of us and coming away with change! 1970s. Last year paid £18 equivalent in the west of Ireland!

Cheap compared to London by me..13.50 for Haddock 4.00 for chips and 2.50 for peas so £20 each..had a curry last night £70 for 2 with a bottle of wine.Nice though
Nice visit. Thanks. Love a good fish n chips. Have you ever visited I think it’s called Helford? Visited there years ago. Lovely spot.
Love your vlogs, keep them coming Helen is brilliant, ignore the haters. Love Cornwall especially Port Isaac and Polzeath. Enjoy Cornwall!
This is where your electric bike would have come in handy. You could have put the bike on the ferry and then ride around The Rock. Ever think of putting a bike rack on the back of the van? Nice to hear Helen pop in for a chat, she's got spunk, always love the banter between you two. Well that was a nice walk about in Padstow, hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Cornwall. At least you got a decent fish and chips and worth another meal there sometime in the future. I just looked up a recipe for an authentic Cornish Pasty so I'll be ready for your taste test. Enjoy your travels!
We love Cornwall, our first van stay was in Fowey back in 95, we can well recommend that town for a visit. Enjoy your Cornish travels and pasty’s, and cream teas!
All credit James a very honest review
Another brilliant vlog watch them cheeky seagulls James 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great tour, thus far. Totally agree about your Fish and Chips verdict, having said that I was expecting a lot better as they looked truly amazing. I think you need to end your visit at Lands End. Dave
Loved your vlog - but missed Helen 🤪. We live in Cornwall and it’s great to see you down here. Some tips for you - for a decent pint try Hicks or Tribute. Both St Austell brewery and much better than Doom! If you come back here in Summer, then come in May of June. We’ve lived here since 2008 (moved down from Bradford) and those months are best weather and not too busy. July & August are a nightmare cos of school holidays, and August is the rainy season - believe me! If you’re still here and want to see a lovely beach, come down to Hayle where we live and head for Godrevy - National trust, and see the gorgeous beach. 3 miles of beautiful sand. Good pub is The Bucket of Blood - in Phillack, Hayle. Then if you do want to see St Ives it’s just about 5 miles further down the coast. Hope you get down here, it’s lovely. X
Hi James, had a good laugh at you burning that panini as I had just burnt my tea in the microwave.😂 Fish looked ok but those chips weren't proper chip shop chips in my opinion, not greasy enough. We love Helen❤
Hello, love watching you and your wife on you tube, love the content. Fair play to you driving all that way on your own and back, hope you keep it going mate. Kind regards.
Lovely to see Padstow, I went on a cookery course with my brother some years ago at Rick Stein’s cookery school, which is above where his chippy is and has great views overlooking the harbour. I don’t think when we went that the chippy was there then. I think that Gordon Ramsay has a holiday home on Rock - if not there in Padstow. Great vlog, thank you
Been a few years since we were down there , btw what kettle do you use in your van and where ya get it from I love it , keep the videos coming love them all x
Sarah's in Looe for the best pasties, also try Inkies at Goliatha Falls for great self-smoked meats plus scenery (not sure but you maybe able to park there, it's in the middle of nowhere).
Watching your Padstow vlog. Love it down in Cornwall. Been to Padstow a few times. Should have hired a bike and ride the Camel Trail to Wadebridge or Bodmin. If you're in Cornwall for a while longer, Fowey is a lovely little village, so to is Mousehole and Marazion.
Sorry I didn’t catch your name, that’s the first one of your videos I’ve seen and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I’ve subscribed to your channel now. I really like your plain and honest review and down to earth approach. I’ll be watching more.

I think most places will be out of season now, but Port Isaac (Port Wenn in Doc Martin) is quite nice. Went have been down Cornwall a few times with our caravan staying at one near St Ives and it cost us over a £1000 for 10 days. We then found places that you can rent and we stayed at a bungalow, two bedrooms, tow bathrooms, kitchen garage ETC and that was a £1000 for 2 weeks. So that is what we do from now on and leave the caravan at home. We stayed in Redruth which is in the middle part of Cornwall,. but then all the coasts around were around 30 minutes away so it is well recommended. If you haven't left Padstow? the blue building in the background 19:39 is a hatchery where they bring up baby lobsters to keep the population growing and you can visit that. Another place to visit, but not sure if they do beer is 'Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm' where you can taste different varieties. I would love to live in Cornwall, but at my age now, I don't think it is going to happen. Great video and lots of memories for me (Albeit a lot warmer when we go).
Daymer Bay. I also forget Charlestown, where they filmed Poldark. Hugs to you both

Just watched your video, the first of yours we have seen and liked it 👌 The best chippy in Cornwall is Gorran Haven. The best pasties are at ChoughBakery in Padstow or from the butchers in Fowey. We will be watching more of your videos . Enjoy Cornwall 🌞

Just discovered and subscribed your blogs.. Well impressed your video of Padstow and brief view Rock. Visited both several times but not recent years. Have say Rick Steins fish chips looked very nice, the crunch of the batter suggested a quality portion fish chips and at 16 quid an acceptable price. I've had dearer although not take away. No doubt in high season prices jump up! Anyway enjoyable video look out for future editions.
