0slavsan0 let me just say that the 02 and 03 models had the older center console that includes two cup holders. And I would also say the second cup holder was basically useless as it was sized to only fit those tiny styrofoam cups haha. So I wasn’t surprised when Maserati changed this in 04 to instead make room for a cigarette lighter under the flip up piece.

As I found out with a Renault many years ago, power window switches in the centre console have a big advantage: when the power windows break in an open position (which is the most rewarding position for them to break in), rain would hit any switches or circuitry mounted in the doors. So window switches in the centre consol are a good idea if you expect your power windows to be less than reliable.

This is just what happens with modern Italian leather. You should see 80,000 Ferraris from exotic car rental places (basically the only way any Ferrari ever gets up to that mileage). Tears, thinning, wrinkles, collapsed padding, and stitching coming undone everywhere. A 1995 Dodge Neon with 300k miles is going to look factory-fresh by comparison. It's also almost certain that the previous owner, the one who installed the aftermarket infotainment and subwoofer, didn't condition the leather because like most people upgrading to used luxury cars, they didn't know you had to. Who knows for how many miles the seats went unmaintained, but 10-15k miles would be more than enough to do this sort of damage to a Maserati. I'm surprised it isn't worse.

Way better than this car’s interior. I guess it shows when you don’t take care of things.... also he bought it when it had taken basically all of its depreciation and when time to sell he only lost about 3k. Not bad for having a Maserati for 6 years

Funny story with one of these, my mechanic had one in the shop and it had a bad coil. He was able to source the correct Ferrari derived coil. 6 weeks later it arrives and is installed. Then a second coil died. He could not find another coil, called everyone he knew for the part. He had a Volvo v70 coil pack lying around and looked at the part numbers. Then realized it was the same specifications as the ferrari coils but the rubber boot was different!! He swapped the parts over and the scar ran flawlessly with no warning lights. Car still driving fine 2 years later.

Super raged that beast, hated the attention though. I always told people their minivans/SUVs are worth more. Heater core replacement was a PITA, but only cost $89 if you get the Fiat part, entire dash has to get removed, but at least you don't have to evacuate the A/C.

I own a 2006 Gransport for 2.5 years. The GS is an upgraded version of the Coupe with better seats, some carbon trim, deeper bumpers, and surfboard like side skirts, the design changes over the original Giugiaro design being done by Frank Stephenson. It has the CC and I have had absolutely no large problems or costs with it. You have to disconnect the battery if you're not going to use it for more than 2 days otherwise it has not enough juice to start the car, there is a switch in the boot/trunk. A micro switch on the key broke off so I couldn't shut the alarm off but connecting the dots on the (admittedly) cheap circuitboard of the key with pliers solved it. And I had to re-glue the leather headlining as it was sagging, 2 hour job. I only changed oil and filter in 2.5 years though it might be time to change other fluids now. I like the CC, put it in auto if your are lazy, normal mode for normal driving it shifts perfectly under halve to full throttle a bit lazy on low throttle. In sport mode the shifts are quick but sent a jerk through the car, seems a bit harsh on the mechanicals so I don't use that often. It doesn't rust and the engine bay is as clean as new and I never cleaned it. I only get positive comments on the car.

I think the "growth" is for your wrist possibly so you dont rest your hand on top of the shifter. Myth is that you can wear some part out by constantly having pressure on the top end of it. And the easy access parking brake boot is mast likely for easier access to adjust the e brake cable. All obviously my opinion.

@@sparkspeedshop8320 Well, I have just been out to the garage and had another look, by removing the gator completely! There IS a moulding under the boot on the reverse gate side of the lever which acts as the reverse selector lock out. (you have to lift a collar under the gear knob to defeat it) and it does look like the contrast/tougher leather piece is designed to hold the gator away from this moulding. However, I can't see anything that would poke through the leather if the tougher section was not there, so perhaps it's just a stylistic way of disguising the bulge? I should also correct myself and say that there ARE springs on the selector mechanism! I've only owned the blooming car for 10+ years so I can't imagine how I missed this!

In the early 00s soft velvet feeling plastics were everywhere and all deteriorated very quickly, I also belive a woman used to drive it since all the nails marks. Anyway the car mileage should be real, how do i know? If you look at the leather seats they have barely any use signs, which means it was not driven a lot.

Doug, do your homework... the Coupe was not "called Gransport in its final year"! The Gransport was a different model entirely, produced between 2004 and 2007. It features a much improved suspension set-up, improved F.1 gearbox software, a sportier interior, 10 extra horsepower and a wicked exhaust sound. It drives completely different from the standard Coupe, much stiffer and flatter in the corners, and much more enjoyable for fast driving. I know, because I have one. It is NOT the same as the Coupe.
