I would love to see Doug do an updated review of the Ghibli, maybe the new Trofeo variant. Maserati has massively updated the Ghibli since this video was published and most of the issues Doug had with the vehicle have been addressed. It’s still far from perfect but I think it shows that Maserati is at least listening to their customer base, unlike some of its German competitors.

Haha I’m looking at a few with less than 25 k miles for around 25 thousand. Reliability is what’s holding me back.

A colleague has one of these. He was able to get it off the showroom floor in the middle of the silicon chip / car availability crisis (at the time, the local BMW and Audi dealers had literally NOTHING new in stock). So that was nice, if indicative of the demand level for the thing. It looks great and I do like look of the interior as long as you don’t look too closely at the quality of some of the parts. Driving it in town just looks awkward, and there is a terribly small amount of space for such a large and unwieldy car. But if you ride in it, people say “I saw you in a Maserati”.

There is a reason why in the audio community it stands for " Buy Other Sound Equipment". While Audio Technica have been making premium audio equipment at affordable prices for years. kylezxc Oh for sure, i agree that pound per pound, AT stuff is superior in terms of sound and build quality. What i meant to say was that Bose, although overpriced, are "less" overpriced for what you actually get compared to Beats. And, Bose were the ONLY brand of headphone that is hyped about that i actually found comfy and sounded decent. I'll never like "elctronic noise cancelling", that stuff makes me nautious...

The “no” effects were killing me 😂

I own a 2015 Ghibli SQ4 but not for long. In April, a young man who is a pillar of the community and has a promising future ran a red light driving a stolen Taurus doing 80 mph and I hit him doing about 40. The doors of the '$80,000 luxury sedan' opened as if the accident didn't happen despite the nose of the car being completely ripped off, the front axle snapped, and the front frame almost ripped off. The front of the car was the radiator flopping out. I got out uninjured. And I loved driving it, Doug. It handled well and while it wasn't the quickest, it had 400+ HP did 0-60 in 4.7 seconds. The exhaust was music. I enjoyed the interior and the ride.

People spending this kind of money on a car don’t want buttons that are “familiar brand to brand”. You really think someone spending $85k on a luxury car have any experience with a $20k dodge dart and want something that feels familiar to that? They don’t have any experience with an economy car and wouldn’t want one. Maybe on cheaper cars that makes sense but this is laughably bad for the price.

that backup camera, including the green-yellow-red overlay, are also straight out of the 2015 Dodge parts bin. My wife's Dodge Caravan backup screen looks EXACTLY the same! Also, regarding streaming music from your phone -- my wife's Caravan won't do that either. it is only able to read MP3s from a USB stick, and import them to an internal hard drive for playback. it's like 2003 tech. And clearly exactly the same system as the Ghibli.

The Chrysler infotainment system can also be found in the Ferrari California. Italian sports car companies do that all the time, for example the automatic gearbox in the Ferrari 400iA was an old 3-speed Borg Warner and the A/C in the Pagani Zonda is the same as the one in the Rover 45.

Nope, I Drive a 2013 300. This seems worse than that, which is just amazing. Why any one would ever buy the Maserati blows my mind. A brand new 300 is already overpriced, I got mine for 5k below msrp because it had been sitting on the lot for a year, its a nice car but not worth even 30k brand new. That Maserati is a joke.

Funny story: I took my 5 series to services.. Received an ass whopping bill for overpriced parts (borrowed my uncles 2014 ghibli meanwhile) and I'm LOVING IT. HE SERVICES IT OUTSIDE THE DEALERSHIP. and never complained. The Ghibli has done 90k KM

I own a BMW F 30 M sport and I get some people that think the same I see nothing wrong with this car it’s Italian and different than the usual boring makes of car we see everywhere on the road I would have one no problem

HecksVision a secret to be able to maintain an awesome car while not having "fuck you money" is to have a set of arms that are not growing out of your ass (not yours in particular, just saying), so i learned changing a clutch by following a forum guide... and it turned out to be a huge success, i installed a better and more expensive part while i saved 2k in labor... and learned a lot in the process, also stopped fearing get my hands dirty, before that i was only comfortable with changing oil and break pads, now i feel like i could rebuild and engine lol
