    for anyone thats interested, its almost $1,500. close to the price. close to the price of my hard top add on lol. and it doesnt even have slides!!!!!!! people... cutting out the plywood does not save you much weight at all. just do this yourself with wood glue. Literally a single mom without any tools could buy some tools and do this. It wont look great but it would do the EXACT same job.

  • @RevereOverland

    @RevereOverland

    Ай бұрын

    Of course you can make it cheaper yourself… when you’re paying someone else to make something, it’s going to cost more. You’re also paying for it to be shipped to your door in that price. That being said, you won’t make it fit this well (with the sides it has?) without an $8,000 scanner and some serious CAD programming. You also won’t get close to this light without importing the same plywood, which has a minimum order of thousands of dollars, and a CNC (which cost $40,000) or a lot of time routing. Also don’t just use wood glue. That’s just asking for it to fall apart.

  • @RevereOverland

    @RevereOverland

    Жыл бұрын

    You could 100% replicate this yourself with a $12k scanner, $3k CAD software, $600 spray gun, and a $30k CNC machine! Seriously though: anyone is capable of building a DIY drawer system for less, but people always underestimate the cost of materials and time taken. When we built my 4Runner one, the roll on was $150 (quality spray is closer to $250), the plywood is $180 a sheet, and it took a very long time. You'd also need a sheet of UHMW, which is hundreds of dollars, or you could use the drawer slides that were around $80 a pair for mine. It also won’t be nearly as light, but if that’s not your priority then go for it!
