    Aonuma seems so passionate and talented...most hardcore game fans may know his name but I don't think he gets enough credit. He's the driving force behind arguably the most consistently great adventure game series of the past two decades.

    +Z Gaming now if only he got his head around the concept of balancing for difficulty and engaging combat. Zelda as a series could grow a lot if they took some of the Souls combat. the 3d zzeldas have always been too on the side of cinematic.

    +Walther Penne This is a remake, and splatoon has absolutely no competition on the Wii U as far as shooters go. It's easy to sell big when there are literally no other options in Wii U,

    Zaruian I feel like it got more cinematic with Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, but before that I disagree. I mean sure there were cutscenes but the gameplay was always the focus.

    Interesting how Aonuma isn't afraid to say that the underwater controls aren't the best they could be. I do like it when developers talk about the difficulties faced when making games. It really helps me respect developers and their games more when they do that.

    The City in the Sky boss battle with the dragon was the most epic boss battle in the game. Clawshotting through the air, lightning and rain in the sky, slashing a fire-breathing dragon, and the epic music...ahhh, I want to experience this in HD and on my big TV so bad. Hurry up, Friday!

    When Aonuma talked about exploring swimming controls for the future, why did I get the impression that he was hinting at something Zelda U-related?

  • @12Metatron

    @12Metatron

    8 жыл бұрын

    people always try to find connections to Zelda wiiu from anything, no matter how small. he's probably not referring to Zelda wiiu by this quote though, this is because the game was made alongside tpHD, and the controls from Zelda wiiu are probably finalized already, including the ones for swimming, and since he said future, we can assume that he hadn't found perfect controls for swimming in a Zelda game as of yet

  • @juice2307

    @juice2307

    8 жыл бұрын

    +12Metatron Not true. Developers love to leave hints and teases in their words. Aonuma does this more than most. Heck, even Gamefreak does this a lot, and it's usually years before the release of the game they tease. Strange souvenir anyone? The Pokemon Sun and Moon teaser also had several key things that tease something, and they wanted us to notice.

  • @12Metatron

    @12Metatron

    8 жыл бұрын

    uhh, yeah, of course the sun and moon trailer had teases they wanted us to notice, but those things were related to pokemon sun and moon, it wasn't a connection to another game. you know, I never said Aonuma wasn't hinting to something from another Zelda game, all I said is that it's very unlikely that it was towards Zelda wiiu since the control are probably finalized already considering it was meant to be released already before the delay, something as basic as that must have been finalized. why am I repeating myself, I already explained all this in my previous comment. oh well, it would be a waste to delete it after typing it all.

  • @juice2307

    @juice2307

    8 жыл бұрын

    12Metatron He wasn't saying that he didn't have them done. If anything he just threw that in there to call attention to underwater areas returning in future titles. What future title is coming up? Zelda U. Chill a little man. You're not the only one here who has a logical reason for why they think what they think.

  • @12Metatron

    @12Metatron

    8 жыл бұрын

    Blatantly Heroic he is saying that the swimming controls still aren't perfect and he will try to find ways to improve it going forward. It is very likely that the controls for Zelda u are finalized (evidence being gameplay footage from a long time ago, and that it was supposed to have already released) so based on that, we can assume that since he yet to perfect it, the same would go for Zelda u's swimming controls. Zelda u (assuming it's on the wiiu) will most likely have the same swimming controls as TPHD, which isn't bad by any means. Sorry if you think I was freaking out or something, it was just that you comment gave me the impression that you saw that I disagreed and immediately wrote your comment without even reading any other part of my comment. or at the very least you didn't realize you counter argument was irrelevant to what I said in mine (at least in a few areas). it's only natural that I would be a little harsh

  • @17Haru17

    @17Haru17

    8 жыл бұрын

    +crash979797 Don't downplay them like that. The spinner was used extensively in the Arbiter's Grounds, like twice in the overworld, and a few times in the City in the Sky. That's not a huge amount of integration, but it was still really fun to use when you could. Twilight Princess had *so many* new mechanics: the spinner, the dominion rod, falconry, horse combat, howling, the double clawshots, scent tracking, magnetism, underwater combat, and the ball & chain. Not all of them could be used everywhere, but the ones that were (the iron boots, double clawshots, arrows), were awesome!

    I can't remember if I had trouble swimming in the Wii version. lol I did liked the boss battles but I was like "the mid bosses are hard, the bosses are kinda easy." My favorite boss was Stallord, pretty scary and big, and I also loved Argorock the Twilight Dragon since I had to spider-man like my way up and dodge his fire breath. Tha hardest mid Boss was the Darknut in the Temple of Time, he blocks a lot but then moves faster when the armor is taken off.

    I think you did a great job on the game. I found some small enemies where the spinner works very well with to beat them. My favorite was the Claw Shoot/Double Claw Shoot! I feel like the you could have added more parts to the City in the Sky dungeon like some town like parts to it. You did a great job on all of the items. There are 2 enemies I have trouble beating. Twilight Princess was a fun game in fact I replayed it last week/this week. But my favorite The legend of Zelda game is Skyward Sword!

    The only swimming controls that bothered me were the ones in Skyward Sword. Using motion controls in the sky is fine since it's big and open. Using them underwater trying to navigate small caves was annoying. It got even worse when I had to shake the Wiimote to break things; shaking the Wiimote messed up my aim and caused Link to crash somewhere else. I'm someone that loves having motion controls in a game, but those swimming controls sucked.

    That they only had enclosed dungeons until then is not entirely true since the Forest Temple in Ocarina of Time had open garden sections.

    Luther DePapier they were still closed, they had a roof and was basically a normal room with grass and vines. what he means is to recreate the feeling of something you would normally find outside of a dungeon.

    12Metatron I see what you mean, kinda like an outdoor dungeon within the dungeon rather than just an outdoor section of a dungeon. There was no roof in the outdoor section of the Forest Temple though. I remember a few fountains and direct sunlight, it really was like a garden in mansion.

    I thought of the Forest Temple too but that was only one or two rooms and it was actually hard to notice there was no ceiling unless you looked straight up. I think what they meant was to have dungeons that actually felt like they took place outside, not just in an enclosed courtyard.

    Yes I was referring to the new 3ds. I don't see why I couldn't run on it. Wasn't Twilight Princess originally a GameCube game? And Hyrule warriors is not my type of game, but I might check it out. It's kind of too repetitive for me.

    Thanks for the info. I guess I'll have to wait for the Nintendo NX and hopefully they will bring Twilight Princess over to that platform as well. I don't have a WiiU. That's why I was wishing it would be on the 3DS.

    Honestly the Spinner was the only item/concept I didn't like in TP, and how easy the fights were/how easy it is not to ever die or get game over. I don't think the Ganon Amiibo will help either, because it's not like you ever get hit in the first place

    +genesisSOC agreed, it was one of my least favorite zelda items. you can really see the struggle to make it useful, i think you use it maybe once or twice outside its dungeon.

    +genesisSOC The game was overall easy, that much is true, but never getting hit? hardly. You don't get hit much if you know what you're doing, but sometimes you just get careless or have an unfair hit in. hero mode with ganondorf amiibo turns your 3-20 hearts into 3/4-5, and i think in hero mode you can't find hearts, sooo... it won't be undoable, but it'll definitely punish every single mistake enough to demand you stay on top of your game. True enough that since ocarina of time, though, the main issue with zelda games has been having much more life than you'll actually need, at least except ALBW in hero mode and triforce heroes.

    +Zaruian I dunno, even on my very first playthrough of TP I never seemed to ever get hit. And if were to get hit, I had plenty of Bottled Fairies anyway. I always wanted a "Master Quest" version of TP with really advanced AI enemies. I'm really happy to hear about hero mode and the Ganon Amiibo too, I just don't think it'll be enough for me. I'm really hyper critical about this game because it's my favorite game of all time, tied with OoT. The only reason it doesn't surpass OoT for me is because it was too easy. I LOVED the ball and chain weapon, too.

    You do get hit and damaged a lot in TP. The problem was that each hit was inconsequential that it barely registers in your memory. So little damage for making s mistake was bad design in the original. In TPHD, this has been fixed dramatically, especially with hero mode where you can't pick up hearts.
