They have to be make a smaller 2D game or two for the Switch now that they don't have a designated handheld for them. And Even if you're talking about big console Zelda games, it will only be 5-6 years.

They could be going the Majors Mask route for BOTW 2. Reusing a lot of the technology they developed for BOTW, while introducing a new setting and expanding on the gameplay. If so, they could make a new one in a few years.

This was pretty interesting! I find it hilarious how even Aonuma himself started to like Mipha more after the Champions' Ballad cutscene of her. I felt the exact same way seeing a new side of her with Sidon. It's so amazing that the DLC had such an impact on the story and gameplay, when the game already felt complete. I'm beyond excited for what's next in the series! Thank you Nintendo for this masterpiece!!

ViolinHS Love you listed a bunch of things about the game without listing a single reason why any of those are bad. Plus it's all subjective wether you like the game or not. I didn't have quarrel with the dungeons. That's what all the shrines were for. You seriously expect a good story from a Zelda game? You obviously haven't played most Zelda games. And what about the bosses? Have you fought a molduga? A gold lynel? What about a haenox? A yiga clan boss? The Ganon fights in the dungeons? The test of strength trials? Every single game is going to have some kind of cannon fodder of enemies that you'll see on a constant basis. Even though most enemies are moblins, they carry different weapons so their attacks vary from moblin to moblin. So I'll give you that one. You're complaining about one of the core aspects of the game in shrines? You already have a really bad outlook on the main meat of game so obviously you're not going to enjoy the majority of it. I personally really enjoy the fact that you can control the pace of the shrines along with your exploration. Plus, you can solve the shrines in so many ways. Korok seeds are there to give you an incentive to explore every single nook and cranny of the game while also being a mechanic to increase your item slots. And some seeds are really clever/difficult and I would call them mini shrines in themselves. And if you're trying to get every single korok seed, you're out of your damn mind already. I'll be waiting for your response. Because you seriously put no thought into it.

My name is Jeff You say that like it’s Nintendo’s fault, as if that’s the case. It’s the fanboys who choose to defend the game as if it has no flaws. And even then that attitude doesn’t represent all Zelda fans. Anyways both Zelda Botw and Mario Odyssey felt almost nothing like their previous entries in the series and had each had flaws of their own, for me though I preferred Zelda Botw more because Mario Odyssey was way too easy compared to every other 3D Mario but that’s a different story.

I don't get why comments like these are being upvoted. They literally help nobody. Nintendo learns from mistakes and praising them to the heaven prevents them from learning. Even BOTW as good as it is, has still major flaws, like missing traditional dungeons, storyline and its repetitive reward system.

Nowhere did OP state that BotW was some godsent masterpiece. They were simply stating that they absoluetely loved Nintendo for having the producers/directors respond to fan questions. It’s a simple gesture of admiration towards a company that does its best to stay connected to their consumer base despite the many flaws.

Steven Paul Doyle I agree. BOTW didn't earn game of the year awards for have such 'flaws.' The game has an excellent story. It's fun getting new weapons, it's fun searching for bits of the story. It's pretty good game in my opinion. Not to mention Kass... Heh (I'm kinda upsessed with him) the style is beautiful. It's just such a great game.

Baby Sidon was too much for me.

Yeah it's cool but it doesn't make a lot of sense since this Link (canonically) has no connection to wolves. The Wolf Link amiibo is non-canon, and that's not literally him anyway.

It does not have all the songs in it though, specifically the cutscene songs and the story trailer theme (which are the best songs in the game, IMO)

I really enjoy this dev videos, they're inspiring and informative, I just love how Nintendo cares about this little details

BotW was phenomenal - but please don't make the next Zelda a carbon copy. I loved open world Hyrule but I'd really like to explore some place completely new and fresh, and see the return of traditional Zelda dungeons like the ones in Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword. If they could strike a balance between the gameplay of BotW with the dungeons and story of SS/TP/WW then I'd think we'd be in the perfect spot.

Couldn't agree more. Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword were flawed definitely but when it comes to story and dungeons they are some of my favourites. Ocarina of Time also had great dungeons.

That's what I'm hoping. They have a great engine with BOTW, they don't need to reinvent the wheel again after one game. I appreciate the ambition but there's such thing as too much of it. Make a darker, wackier sequel with the same engine. Like you said, it's how we got Majora's Mask.

I really love the champions, its really a great idea to have voice acting in your native language so the characters really find a way in your heart

It's soooo interesting! I want more videos like that, the opinion of the creators is really interesting and it's fantastic to realize that sooo much people worked to produce the game we are all playing.

Both smiled when asked "What's next on the franchise?" trying to hide that fact that they had already started the Sequel.

After a couple delays of this game being released, I can honestly say it makes a lot of sense after seeing the entire scope of the world they created. All the detail that went into the mountains, fields and all the areas to explore, I can't help but wonder if these guys lost sleep creating all this stuff. It definitely exceeded my expectations.

I love sidon made me happy for a bit

Look at their excitement and enthusiasm when they're talking about this game and you can feel it every time you load up what is now the greatest game ever made. Great interview, love their passion and I honestly can't wait to see what the next Zelda will be like.

These people are truly masters of their craft. Still playing this game after all these years and have been loving age of calamity and can’t wait to see future installments to come!!!

Its good that they acknowledged the wolf theme motorcycle. I wish we had a choice in game or switch it up as long as you defeat the monk (or something like that).

I would like a DLC 3 because even though DLC 2 delivered plenty of story it did not deliver enough as it promised. They should make a DLC 3 covering way more on the champions. Preferably cutscenes. They should make this in the middle of developing the new Zelda game because it would hopefully satisfy fans before the new game comes out.

These interviews are always so fun to watch.

Just spitballing here. But all they gotta do to 1 up breath of the wild is make the next zelda have real dungeons again with environmental variety instead of the monotone shrines. They can still keep shrines in some way but definitely have actual sprawling dungeons throughout the different environments

basically the same awesome gameplay of botw, but more story focused with these massive, themed dungeons that are actually somewhat difficult and have unique, cool bosses at the end that makes you look forward to what the next one is going to be. Also increase the difficulty a bit, botw was too easy imo, and get rid of weapon breaking, i like running around with my master sword, and this is something you can anyway if you have the leveled up master sword in botw, making any and all other weapons pointless since you technically had the best weapon in the game.

Ibrahim Sharrocks I like the variety of weapons but the breaking is a big letdown. If anything it would be cool if there was a way to upgrade weapons to unbreakable status or something like that. Oh. And bring back the hookshot. I was always missing it in botw

This was one of the biggest disappointments for me. Before release I had heard "you can do dungeons in any order", "there is a huge overworld" and "if you're not strong enough for a certain dungeon you can level up and return later". All of that sounded really promising, but then I found out there were only four (short) dungeons and the rest is just shrines. I expected typical Zelda dungeons to be littered all over the overworld that didn't necessarily have any story connection and that were completely optional (though you would of course get heart containers from completing them and beating the bosses inside). The "return when you're stronger" thing didn't really come up either because due to the game's story there is a certain urgency about freeing the Champions and I would feel guilty about leaving them behind, plus there isn't really a difficulty curve with the bosses since they all have the same amount of HP. And you can get golden heart food anytime if you're struggling. The only "bosses" I saved for when I got stronger were Major Test of Strength Guardians and Lynels. In my opinion they could have kept the Divine Beasts and their story connection but replaced some or all of the shrines with themed dungeons, that would make exploration feel more rewarding to me since it would be like uncovering a mysterious secret and you'd have no idea what to expect before going inside if they all were unique.

I mean, spruce up some of the shrines and give a more environmental feel to the shrines and divine beasts, fix up the bosses a little, and we’d be pretty set.

It's really interesting to get an insight in the designing progress and listen to their opinions. That wolf motorcycle was really cool but I get why they went for the horse in the end. I hope they'll do more of these in the future!

I got so excited and I had thought it was an announcement for 1 final up coming dlc. A man can certainly dream, huh?

This is such a lovely perspective to see the developers themselves sharing their viewpoints of the game and its community. For the Mastercycle Zero, I would've like there to be an option to switch the bikes around to however one sees fit like choosing between the animal based designs. I really love that marvellous wolf design and it would've been great to switch between it and the horse. Also, Prince Sidon and Mipha are the best. Both are such sweethearts. I got so happy when Zoras were reveal to be in the game, and even more so after meeting wonderful characters. So cute!

Just like this awesome DLC, I want one better for odyssey, please ;-;

JB Now I don't consider it hypocritical. No one knew at the time how the full game would be like, what the DLC was, and if the DLC was cut content or not. Now that the game is out and many got the chance to play it, people changed their minds. It been nearly a year since the annoncement was made. People can definitely shift opinions especially after playing it.

I hope for the next Zelda game, they can use the BOTW graphics for one more time. And if they're not going to use it, then I'll just be 5% disappointed. I mean, is it possible to make graphics that are better than BOTW?

I love the title, which plays in the background. However, I have not found a version without synchros and in the video was exactly this version there.

the DLC shrines and temple for this game are so good I cant wait until they get back to more traditional dungeons I bet they will be amazing

or you can just add Virtual Console. Twilight Princess on the Nvidia Shield is running using a GameCube emulator at 1080p 30fps, so it can be used on the Switch. The Nvidia Shield uses a Tegra X1 chip, and the Nintendo Switch uses a modified version of it so getting it working would be no problem since Nintendo have already pretty much developed and optimised it.

Thank you for making legend of Zelda I love it (my favourite character in lana from hyrule warriors and one more divine beast to go)

Urbosa is also my favorite champion! She reminds me of Nabooru, one of my favorite characters of Ocarina Of Time!

I think they really missed an opportunity... When I seen the trailer for the DLC I thought I was going to be able to play as different Champions. Each Champion could have had their own unique play style, with the smaller character being more agile and faster and the bigger character having slow but powerful attacks, ect.

Dat Zero Master Cycle is da best!

I love how this is only just now coming out. I beat the pack the day it arrived and have been regretting it (in terms of "well now what") ever since.

Please do an update for the game so you can hold all the clothes in the game that you get from the dlc and all the zelda amiibo figures and more weapon displays in links house

Tony james Jack what is your deal already? all I'm saying is there's nothing else to do anymore so Nintendo will not put anymore efforts into a finished game. you are taking this way to personal to post multiple triggered comments towards me. Just because Nintendo said it doesn’t mean they meant it. Also I don’t care wat you peeps have to say I will refuse to believe there is no more until the next Zelda title is announced

When i seen the notification on my phone i thought new dlc was announced, sadly that wasnt so. But im still pleased with this

I cleared all of them, I liked it and how there were new memories.

To me, Champion's Ballad was rather disappointing. Not because I dislike challenging gameplay or anything. The gameplay was fine, for the most part. What disappointed me was the fact that it was announced as a story-heavy DLC, yet out of the 10 hours of DLC only 10-15 minutes are story. That's 2,5%.

Sure, but you are as vulnerable as they are; one mistake and you are done. Besides, it's endgame, why does that matter? By that point you already did everything, or almost.

I was hoping for some sort of loftwing mount, but I knew it was difficult to come up with if that was the option.. but wow. Implementing some sort of flight based mount or tool aside from the glider, with even a depletion of stamina, would have been amazing for such a gorgeous game. Regardless, I'm still loving every aspect of the game you have made for everyone. Thank you for creating a tranquil world for me and other fans to run to. You guys have no idea how much this game means to me. It helped me cope with major life changes I had no control over. Love you Nintendo. You guys have no idea.

i think Nintendo has scrapped the idea of a timeline for this game. With other games they went out of their way to create a book that specifically explains and shows the timeline for each of the games, it makes no sense why Nintendo wouldnt just come out and say which one it is, unless it isnt in any of them

It takes place 10,000 years after any event in any timeline so it doesn't matter

Ya me to but the events of breath of the wild are WAY to far away from the rest of the time line cause either started 10000 years ago right

We need a dlc of the time before ganon took over!

i think he is wanting a DLC pack to show BOTW's hyrule not destroyed with all of the champions and zelda alive still. Sadly this is impossible since no more dlc will be developed for BOTW.

I love these guys already without knowing anything about them. Their Japanese sounds really pleasant, they have genuine smiles and looks like a lot of fun to work with and seems to know what's meant with making games, to have fun and professional but open for suggestions
