Absolutely love these reactions. You pause when you want to talk about something but also don't talk for 5 minutes. You get to your point and talk about it for a minute or 2 and then unpause the show. Most people will just talk over the show and then miss things happening. You're awesome and can't wait for more of the show 👏

This is the episode that truly made me love Zaheer as a villain. He isn’t a fraud like Amon or a madman like Unalak. He is a man who truly believes no one should live under tyranny and has absolute unshakable conviction in his beliefs. And the coolest part is that even though yes it was as a way to distract her he was willing to answer any questions she had about him. How many bad guys actually do that?

it's a shame she doesn't like them at all, lol. Did you catch that? She has this whole investment in the guy and then at the end she's just like, "I just don't like them".. Like all of them. She has that rare mind where she doesn't even know what she likes, as in, she doesn't recognize what's engaging her and misunderstands what equals good and poor quality. She's very narrow in her decision making.

Zaheer is what you might call a well intentioned extremist. He genuinely believes what he's doing will create a better world. As for the Avatars, well, they tend to prop up existing power structures in the name of order. Aang didn't dissolve the Fire Nation, he just helped to install a new leader. Aang also helped found the United Republic. The Avatars have historically accomplished little in the way of uniting the world, but have reinforced existing divisions quite well.

All of Korra’s villains represent ideologies, with Zaheer obviously being Anarchy as you correctly pointed out

the thing about LOK is that all its villains are -isms taken to their illogical extreme. Amon was communism, Tarrlok was Authoritarianism, Unalaq was religious fundamentalism, the Earth Queen is Monarchism, and Zaheer is anarchism. Even Varrick is an -ism, he's unrestrained capitalism.

Amon wasn't communism. Communism would have meant everything belongs to everyone, and that "everyone" is represented by the government, so everything belongs to the government. But I understand why you think of communism because Amon wanted equality between two groups of people (benders/nonbenders). His methods to achieve were (like with all Avatar villains) just evil.

I think in the upcoming Avatar series, as big a location as Bs Sing SE is in the Avatar universe it should be a city that gets a much needed face lift to be a better city.

Zaheer is like the Joker, he just wants anarchy for the simple reason that he's an anarchist

Avatar js essentially a god, and most rulers know better than to underestimate one. Only reason Korra is having a hard time is because of technology and the world is more united now, making the avatar's role less significant. Similar to how progressivism leads to less fundamentalism. I think the 100 year war also had an impact on the avatar's role. The avatar was missing and people had to live without 1 in an entire generation. So while Team avatar did stop the war mind you a bunch of kids, I think it highlights the fact that most folks don't want the world to return to that state and make amends rather than rely on a god that reincarnates every generation to solve their problems for them.

You don't have to agree with the villains' stance to appreciate what they're saying. Zaheer's perspective isn't necessarily common, but it DOES exist. Plenty of people think we should all return to our own agency or more tribal natural system. Even more messed up people don't even mind the loss of life over the dissolution of our various borders, territories or basic leadership roles. And really think about all the villains out there in fiction? Is your requisite for liking a villain that you must agree with their stance on the conflict? Think about every Disney villain. Every extremist villain. You tend to make excuses for villains and chastise the main characters a lot in what you watch, but this time....the villain is actually a little too unhinged for you to make excuses for, or maybe his perspective is a little to like our own world?? So you jump to "No I don't like". Zaheer is one of the most nuanced villains in EITHER show. Up until now the villains have all been pretty one-dimensional, albeit with a world in place to explain their fall from grace. Unalaq might be the most unexplained one-note villain of them all. Now you have a villain here who spares people that don't concern him, has ideals and a desire to explain himself and a somewhat relatable outrage with OTHER villains and tyrants. I hate to say....this is as good as you've gotten or will get with these series. If you don't like this guy....without a good reason....maybe reevaluate how you judge characters. He's deranged of course, like I said. He has taken the Air Nomad's philosophy to an arrogant and short-sighted extreme that holds none of the reverence for life, spirituality or long-term change....but his view has a very human touch to the extreme.

Zaheer is the worst villain in the entire franchise. Basically his motivation is "lol chaos." He's peak lolbertarian. He's a freshman college dropout. He went class 1 time for social studies 101 and learn "government bad" then made that his entire edgelord personality. Amon was abused and truly believed a world without bending would be better. Unalok got delusions of grandeur and thought he knew better than anyone else how to rule the world. Zaheer? Gubmentz bad mkay.

You probably missed it, but Bo Ling was refering to a famouse Graphic Novel Series named Tintin. The Title Hero is a Journalist, and Adventurer, and two of his Friends are twin Detectives who couldnt disguise themselfe if there Life depends on it. And Zaheer is an Anarchist, but as I said at the Beginning, the Series dont understand what that means. Anarchy does not oppose Order, just social Classes. The famouse V for Vendetta specifically points that out.
