@@sly8961 How immature of you. I strongly believe that part 2 will be more violent with more gore and brutality than 1st one. And judging by gameplay and trailers, Ellie is far aggressive than Joel ever was (whatever happened to poor soul). Just because Joel is a man, doesn't mean Ellie is weaker in any way. Women are much scarier when it comes to revenge. Personally I am glad we are playing Ellie this time, it's a fresh gameplay with more features. And don't forget that she is 19 now (she was born in such environment and endured long enough, she saw much and experienced much. Finally she has learnt many things from Joel), she is not a 14 yo girl anymore, who killed for the first time. I am positive that part 2 will top the original.

when i first played the game,i melted at that line. And at the ending scene when she told me that to save humanity they are gonna kill her i literally screamed out "that's my daughter you're talking about" in front of my sister, and was 17 then.

Naughty Dog is the best gamedev company in my opinion. Mostly because of how well they crafted the world of The Last Of Us. The feelings within tlou are so strong, definitely at the end. I usually never cry when watching movies or playing games but the last of us came so close to making me cry and not just once...

The best in my opinion. There’s a level of attachment you get for the characters by playing the game that you can never get with a tv format but by and large everything was so faithful to the game. Pedro killed it as Joel and Bella did really well in her own right as Ellie.

In my opinion a second game to The Last of us wouldn't fit in. The game tells the story about Joel and how Ellie went from ''cargo'' to ''new daughter''. He never calls her his daughter but everyone knows that he sees her as a daughter by the end of the game. The things he did to save her from dying. He rather let humanity die then letting Ellie die for a cure. That is something that most parents would do to save their kids and loved ones. I don't think a second The last of us would beat this. Joel lost his daughter in the beginning and in the end he has found Ellie. Start with extreme sadness (I know you cried the first time) and end with happiness. This game should just stay as a single game. No new The last of us. The story that was to be told have been told. You should never try to tell more stories about someone or something when you have finished the story. It would be like making a new Lords of the rings where Frodo comes back to nuke Mordor. The last of us is one of my favorite game of all times. I really love it. But a new game wouldn't be as good. I hope I have made my point as clear as I can./inlajnsGnome King

When you get caught, the soldiers hit Joel and they take Ellie out of his arms he goes "No, no! Let go of her! Let go of her!" In desperation, then they knock him to the ground. Then he yells "NO!" Reaching out for her as he is shot in the head multiple times. Fucking sad.

This was a tragic ending.... Joel is selfish, betrays what Ellie really wanted and also dooms humanity by eliminating the chances of a cure. Sure, Ellie lives, and Joel gets what he wants, but the gut wrenching thing is that this is not a good ending, there were no good endings in this game.

I played the last of us without knowing anything, I was young (way too young) and played through the intro, most amazing thing I had played stuck to mp after that tho. Came back to it about 3 years ago to play on the same ps3 (didn't remember anything) was blown away. Definitely one of the best games I've ever played, only rivalled by red dead redemption 1 and 2, still proably wins story wise. It contains multiple of.my favoutite gaming moments ever, especially the intro, rivaling many of rdr iconic scenes and on par with leaving the vault in fallout 3 for.the first time.

This song carries such a powerful emotional weight. Grief, desperation, hope, sacrifice, and moral ambiguity are all conveyed in this one song. Really beautiful way they reinterpreted this piece as a companion to Joel's bloodbath in the finale episode yet I can't help but feel that it was done so much better when it accompanied Joel carrying Ellie out that hospital in the game. It just works so so good.

Honestly it would've just gone under radar as a generic zombie movie. That or It would get the same treatment that media and critics gave Joker. Either way, I think The Last Of Us worked best as a game. Going through all of the missions personally leaves emotional scenes with a harder impact than most movies can provide, because you've worked hard to get past all of those troubles. So it hurts much more to see these characters suffer through their lives.

Imagine being upset because a sequel set few years later, has actions of the previous main characters catch up to them in a way that's perfectly in line with the tone and thematic elements of the first game. If you expected everything to be fine and dandy after that cliffhanger ending of the first game, you weren't paying attention to the story. I saw the leaks, it actually made me more curious and the amount of leaked information is just not enough to kill the hype, for me personally.

Makes me want to cry every time.

I probably would've been pushed over the breaking point of Joel started subconsciously saying things like "I know it hurts, baby, I know. It's okay, Sarah. I got you." even though he's holding Ellie. It would show that his mind is broken. His memories of Sarah have overtaken how he sees Ellie. He's gone crazy, but he loves her so much. And when the soldiers start shooting, one of them grazes his leg, and he limps to the elevator, and he shouts back to them "Get away from my daughter! He bites a pin out of a grenade and throws it out the elevator as it closes.

They were trying to replicate success, which is near impossible with the first game being so memorable. Violently killing Joel then making Ellie the true villain of the story was the least expected thing they could do; but unexpected isn't the same as good. Druckmann felt like he had written himself into a corner and the only way out was to subvert audience expectations as much as possible. But that mindset seldom leads to good storytelling, much less good sequels. (Case in point the last Jedi). They wanted Part 2 to be equally unforgettable, but the only way they could think to do that was to make something truly disappointing, heartbreaking, and perpetually miserable by design.

@Harvey Specter It's far from being a masterpiece. And no, my problem is not with who was "good" and who was "bad", that never was an issue. It's just horribly written. So many actions are forced just for the reason that the plot can work, and that is what makes it bad. If the characters would have acted in a way it would make sense the story would have ended before it even begun. Everyone calling this mess a "masterpiece" either doesn't know anything about good writing or simply doesn't care about it.

I felt a similar feeling at the end of the first season of TWD. It isn't the same as The Last of Us, i sat a contemplated life for a good while after playing that lol. It doesn't help that i keep coming back and playing it/listening to this music, it gets me into a state of mind where i don't really know what to do with myself. I played it twice and I think it’s just one of those games that I really don’t like, but it definitely isn’t bad like everyone says it is. The game just emotionally torments you in a way where you lose interest that was sparked in that first game between Joel and Ellie, because SPOILER... now we know that there will be no more moments with Joel, and it just doesn’t even feel like the last of us anymore. Ellie is still here at least (which will probably be short lived once they have her die as well as a sacrifice for the “cure” in the third game, if it’s even created), but they left little to no glimpses of hope at all for our main characters in part 2, it doesn’t really give the player any reason to come back. The ending may have been some moment of development for Ellie as a person, but it’s just so unsatisfying and unfulfilling, the game (besides the crispy graphics, acting, animations and everything like that) is just so miserable it’s inevitable that many people won’t like it. If you like it though, that’s respectable since people always have different opinions.

The first episode of the show was just amazing and perfect.

Henry: [Chuckles.] Shut the hell up. Joel: Dead serious. [Eats a spoonful.] It was Tommy's birthday. That's all he wanted to do is to just-rent two Harley's and drive cross country. Henry: [Sits up.] Ah, man. I could die happy if I could just ride one around the block. [Chuckles.] What was it like? Joel: It was good. Real good [Sets the can down.] Henry: Good? [Looks at Ellie.] Can you believe this guy? C'mon man, gimme details. Describe it. Joel: [Laughs.] Ellie: You know what? You two deserve a little privacy. [Stands up.] Henry: No, no, Ellie, Ellie, this isn't just any regular motorcycle. Okay? You get on that bad boy, you feel that engine. Nothing like it. Ellie: Oh yeah? How would you know? Henry: I've seen it in my dreams... [Sits up and pretends he's riding a motorbike.] Vroom, vroom, vroom...[Laughs.] Ellie: Okay... [Walks off.] [As Ellie exits, an awkward moment of silence lingers in the room between Joel and Henry.] Henry: I don't think anyone from our group is gonna show up. Joel: [Somberly.] Yeah. Henry: Worst part of it all-explaining it to Sam. [Cut to a separate room with Sam.] Ellie: [Enters.] Well, it's safe to say those two have officially bonded. [Walks closer.] What're you doin'? Sam: Taking stock of all the food we found today. Ellie: I see... [Grabs can and reads.] And how are we doing on canned peaches? Sam: [Grabs can from her.] Did Henry send you? Ellie: No. Why would Henry send me? Sam: To make sure I'm not fucking up somehow. Ellie: Pshhh. I'd say we all did pretty good back there-especially you. [Sam gets up out of his chair and walks to the window.] Ellie: Is everything alright? Sam: [Somberly.] Everything's fine. Ellie: [Pauses.] Okay... [Walks off.] Well... have a good night. Ellie: [Confidently.] Okay, first of all, we're a team now. We're gonna help each other out. And second, they might still look like people, but that person is not in there anymore. Sam: Henry says that, "They've moved on." They they're with their families. Like in heaven. Do you think that's true? Ellie: I go back and forth. I mean, I'd like to believe it. Sam: But you don't. Ellie: I guess not. Sam: Yeah... me neither [Turns back around.] Ellie: Oh... [Takes off backpack.] all this serious talk, I almost forgot. [Pulls out toy and puts it on desk.] There. If he doesn't know about it, he can't take it away. [Puts on backpack and walks to the door.] Alright, I'm pooped. I'll see you tomorrow. [Ellie exits the room. Sam walks to the toy, picking it up. After looking at it, he throws it at the floor. He sits back in his chair and rolls up the bottom of his pants, revealing a bite. Cut to Ellie sleeping. It is morning. Joel is standing by the window and Henry is stirring a pot on a stove.] Ellie: [Wakes up. Sniffs then yawns.] Damn. That smells good. Joel: [to Ellie.] Good morning. Ellie: Where's Sam? Henry: I let him sleep in for once. Ellie: Oh. Henry: Well if you want him to join us, you can go wake his ass up. Ellie: Okay. [Walks into Sam's room.] Sam? [Ellie opens the door and sees Sam twitching erratically from behind.] Ellie: [Off-screen.] Sam! Joel: What the hell? [Ellie is pushed out of the room and knocked to the floor with Sam on top of her. He grunts and claws at her, trying to attack her. Henry backs against the wall, gun in hand.] Joel: Shit. He's turnin'! [Grabs gun from bag.] [Henry fires a shot in Joel's direction. Joel falls back.] Henry: That's my fuckin' brother! Ellie: Sam! Joel: Screw it! [Crawls for his gun.] [Henry fires his gun and shoots Sam. Ellie pushes Sam off her and crawls away as he dies.] Ellie: Oh, shit... Joel: [Approaches Ellie.] Ellie? Ellie, are you alright? Ellie: Uh-huh [Panicked.] Oh my god. Henry: Sam? Ellie: Oh no... Henry: [Crying.] Sam... Joel: [Trying to console Henry.] Henry. Ellie, stay there. Henry. Henry: Henry, what have you done? Joel: [Inches slowly.] I'm gonna get that gun from you, okay? Henry: Sa...Sa...Sam [Points gun at Joel.] Joel: [Stops advancing. Puts his hands up.] Whoa. Okay, okay, easy. Henry: It's your fault. Joel: This is nobody's fault, Henry. Henry: It's all your fault! I cried when that happened. I'm an older brother myself and if my brother turned... I'd probably do the same. This game made me the person who I am today and the reason I am so mad at part 2 is because it feels like it's spitting on a masterpiece.

It makes my heart broken coz Ellie didn't know how much Joel loved her
