The Lamborghini Miura Is Still Untamed

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

“I think it’s the car that put Lamborghini on the map,” says Dennis Varni, and we’d have to agree.
Owner of a stunning Miura P400 S since 1979, Varni is an enthusiast with varied tastes, from Bonneville Salt Flats racers to a Fiat Topolino. But the Miura…the Miura is in a league of its own. It’s also something that he’d lusted after since he first laid eyes upon one.
“These things were $19,000 new in those days, and I’d just bought a house with my wife for $11,000 in 1966, and I said, ‘I’ll never be able to own one of these’.”
But less than a decade later, he did. And as a long-time owner who was originally into hot rods, he’s enjoyed how the car has opened his eyes into a world of European sports cars.
“The most redeeming thing about the Miura would be the fact that there’s only so many of them. it’s highly collectable, it’s exciting, because it’s unusual, it’s small, it’s exotic-it’s still exotic today. And it was significant in its styling.”
“I hope I get to stay around a long time, and play with all my toys, and then when I go someone else will have them,” he says. With a vast appreciation for all things automobile, we hope that Varni continues to enjoy his beloved Miura for a long time to come

no, he do not deserve a Miura. As far he do not known why Ferruccio Lamborghini made this car he cannot deserve it. Lamborghini was having a Ferrari and he have had troubles withe the gear box. has he was a hell of mechanic he went to Enzo Ferrari and told him how to solve the gearbox issues. Ferrari replied to him:" you make your tractors that I make my supercars " he went back home pissed off " I went there to help him and he treated me so bad, I bought his car, waf. tomorrow I show him. we will do our cars" "we need a logo, Ferrari has a rampant horse, I need more power, I put a bull. if you are one of the luckiest man to have a Miura you must know the history behind it. You must know the pride of a man, you must know the reason why this real female is one of the most beautiful car ever done.

+Scott Rikkard After the Miura the Espada defines coolness. While the Countach is a cool and futuristic design, its a pretty useless car by any standard, so you might as well look at a race car instead or a concept car. The Miura and the other early Lamborghinis are built to be used as daily drivers, which the Ferraris really weren't and thats why you have Lamborghini sport cars....

Oberndorfer Yeah they do. Especially if they were born into money they might have other priorities then who has the fattest wallet . Money might be a sign of status but it is not the only one and certainly not the classiest. So maybe it ait good idea to make sweeping statements based on data from a time when most opportunities open to women were being a housewife teacher or a nurse.

The Miura was waay ahead of its time - and its styling hasn't dated one iota.. always the sign that it was "right" first time. There's not a line in that car I would change - those beautifully sinuous flowing lines will never be equalled, let alone bettered. You would never guess from looking at it that it's almost 50 years old. Dennis Varni - what can I say - thanks for making this superb video.. The closest I'll ever get to a Miura. It's great to see an owner of such a classic showing such love and enthusiasm for his car.. and driving it with such pleasure. Well done Dennis! I had a similar experience when I finally acquired a classic motorcycle I'd been searching for for almost 10 years.. I used to wander out to my garage at 6am in my pyjamas with a coffee - just to look at it.. I'm sure that Dennis did/does much the same with his Miura.. and who could blame him?
