The Iron Forest - Go Wild
The youngest of Austria’s national parks is also the country’s biggest continuous forest area. Ten million trees make the labyrinthine, fissured karst formations of the Reichraming and Sensen mountain ranges an endless green wilderness. But these mountain forests that were originally almost impenetrable lie in the midst of Austria’s iron industry. For more than a thousand years, it supplied the fuel for smelting iron from innumerable little mines in the region, especially from the Styrian Erzberg.

The multiplication of the hornets is just fascinating. Thanks to your patience to create such an extraordinary video. Placing the secret cameras in the tree hall needs courage and patience. Much appreciated.
Phenomenal documentary - the narrator is top notch 🔥

Excellent video! Beautifully crafted, conservation - minded, very well informed, very nice imagery and, very important, it really transports you to the secret life of the forests... I am so thankful and joyful to know now how fantastic these Alps' forests are. Being a South American, I have always been curious and worried about European ecosystems. Superb job!

beautiful world
I enjoyed the Hornet and Dormouse scene
superbly filmed and narrated, one of the finest and respectful series of nature filming I have seen, reminds me of Mutual of Omaha nature films back in the 60s and "wild America", I will add this forest to my bucket list lol, but I believe that such forest should be protected form humans and should remain mostly inessesable away from the world. thank you
Excellent video. Faultless. And Mr. Penny's narration is superb. It is very encouraging to see that here, in the heart of Europe, there is evidence that the ecosystem is thriving. The scene with the two playful Lynx kittens was just the right touch for a hopeful ending. Congratulations for a job very well done. (I just subscribed.)
I found those Dipper birds to be absolutely hilarious!
Awesome documentary crafted that soft music is speechless

excellent documentary
Excellent video and really well narrated. Thank you.
Awesome mother nature
Another Great Vid!
Fantastic Doc
Astonishing video Thank you
hat off to the camera team!!!!! also excellent english language translation and commentary. while i do not agree with some of the translation, could be better or more correct, it is nevertheless a very good english language edition of the Austrian produced - Universum- series. which by the way makes always top grade. both in quality and viewers attendance.
Wow fabulous
i love it!!!
So awesome
I like this video very much thank you 😊
Wonderful Documentary and as an American I have always wanted to visit Europe and maybe get a chance to see some of that Continent's beautiful landscapes.Hopefully, one day I will. Also I liked that the Doc doesn't bother with showing the predator prey interaction as many Documentaries and Video's show more then enough of that gruesomeness .After all,I think we can be certain it occurs so just a well shot Doc,indeed.Enjoyed very much.

Couldn't understand how Google would allow such blockers , since advertising is her bread and butter, and we get occasional offerings to watch "KZread Premium"....for €13 per month.

galanie - The person who uploads the video can choose where the adds appear, like before the video, during the video and how many adds. Its the channel operators doing, you tube just accommodates them for increased add monetization.

@TheSecretsofNature: I really enjoyed your video. However I was disappointed to see that it didn't include any footage of the Ivory Billed Pileated Woodpecker which was used for your thumbnail.
also are these films " The Secrets of Nature" available on DVD?
Thank you tSoN, I enjoyed that (although they were grey not yellow wagtails)
very nice thanks.
Will we have to revert to armed guards to protect our national parks, our rainforests and our oceans ? Surely we can learn quicker than that! Thanks for the excellent vid.
