Viennas Forests, Jewels of Green - Go Wild

Vienna's forests make a visual impact on the city's scenery -- being a source of life and sanctuary at the same time: They are omnipresent and an enormous asset, taken for granted by many. Perhaps no other European capital boasts so many acres of forest per inhabitant. There are the well-known Vienna woods in the west and north, the national park of the Danube wetlands to the east, and numerous groves and green corridors right amidst built-up urban space.

An absolutely marvelous documentary - THANK You for uploading it! (Goes to show that with some common sense, people and nature can co-exist in harmony - AND do it in a way that benefits everyone!) My hat's off🎩 to the city planners and everyday citizens of Vienna! 💙💛🌹💜🍎🇺🇸

Take the exact opposite of Vienna, make it 100 times more destructive and pollutive to the air, water and ground, you have all Chinese north east cities. The correct way to stop the chinese pollution madness would be to wipe out that destructive population of Han chinese.

    M. .KELLY Vienna doesn't have their act together. This was done for TV and cameras also there was a specific reason it was filmed at that specific time of year. There also was a very specific reason why they would not show you the south side of the forest. I can tell you first hand stay in America where you have it so well.

What a refreshingly sane and practical perspective on conservation within a modern day setting........I read how Denmark run their societies with the basics of living provided free for all through higher taxation of big business than the rest of the world.....Seems they have achieved a balance not present elsewhere in general.

A very nice, well produced video. The narrator did keep mentioning protected area of the Vienna Woods but in reality it is not full protected. While the protection is there to keep the forest there for ever, hunting and fishing are allowed and some selective tree felling takes place. It is not dedicated as an SAC and is not fully protected in the true sense of the word. However, I was pleased to see the many field trips for children to learn about the forest and to plant trees.

I wonder why they don't fence small areas for pet dogs to roam unleashed under their owners supervision while requiring the dogs to be leashed in the open areas (since the unleashed dogs cause so much damage). There must be a reason because the design and planning is so well thought out. Thank you for the beautiful video

Here in Sweden it's prohibited by law to have your dog unleashed in the wild between 1 mars - 20 august when wild animals have their babies, and in national parks it's ALWAYS forbidden! As a dog owner my self, it's sad to see how irresponsible other dog owners are! I hope Vienna will take precautions against it, soon!
