Fire Atronachs ARE sentient beings so TECHNICALLY they could consent to happy fun times. Although fluff with Daedra generally doesn’t turn out great in Elder Scrolls canon. Generally ends with death. Or worse.

On a small note about games like starfield, player retention does matter for single player games nowadays. Mostly because of DLC, but also for brand recognition. A lot of people bought starfield solely because it was made by Bethesda, and most people know them for developing Skyrim. not the only reasons mind you, but a couple of the more important ones.

What keeps the game alive more is not any dlc, it'll be the mods that the community makes for it. Skyrim wouldn't have lasted anywhere close to as long nor garner the sales it had without those. The fact there was multiple channels on youtube talking about the newest mods out there kept it somewhat in the spotlight.

that is true, but you also have to give credit to the initial launch of the game being as successful as it was due to both oblivion and fallout 3 doing as well as they did. The amount of mods would not exist without the game and conpany already having a rather devoted fanbase, and something about Skyrim just lit that spark in people. Would Skyrim have had this much staying power without the modding community? Debatable. Would the community be as strong if the base game wasn't strong enough to support it? Eh, still debatable. Game was good before and after mods. Can't give the mods all the credit, but neither can you disregard them. Can't give the fame that Bethesda had at the time all the credit but again neither can you disregard it. So in shorter terms, good games make a community, and community gives games longevity via mods or other content. Games with longevity give name recognition, and that creates a fanbase. And a fanbase, creates sales and feeds the hype machine no matter the quality. (And then you get something like fallout 76 and everything starts to fall apart including my train of thought.)

We need to hear Chino's voice again. Don't care if it's for Gengar Stand-up Comedy. Give us Chino's voice!

Can confirm. LL is STILL having small wars over what versions of Skyrim what mods work on.

Fun fact There’s a mod out there for Skyrim that makes it so when you lockpick the lock has “anime moaning”

If I know anything about Skyrim, the goal is not to keep the game from crashing: It’s to be able to open the game in the first place. And if you are able to encounter an entity, especially a modded entity, and be able to get 10 steps and one weapon swing in before the game crashes, then the mod is pretty stable (/half-joking)

8:30 makes me think of my most recent game purchase, the Star Ocean 2 remake. I don't really mind having pixelated characters, or having more anime-style characters. But having character sprites that look like that on a background that looks much newer is just plain jarring.

Besides I think the renames especially for bosses works better or is a direct approach to the Japanese translation for some 👍

@@Demi-Joker Mate, Skyrim's required specs are pretty low. Plus, most mods don't affect performance. Those that do are things like grass textures etc, which people tend not to run unless they have high-spec PCs. Additionally, using a mod manager means potential conflicts are minimised, since it warns you if mods are conflicting, and advises load order rules to prevent issues. Most mod pages have a section detaling potential issues, if they're known, and most authors are pretty good at responding to bug reports.

Tom boys are way easier to please, I usually buy my wife pokemon cards or yugioh cards, either that or pokemon plushies. If I really messed up I make her a steak or one of my burgers.

9:25 I haven’t seen mods for the talking flowers yet, but something just as good has existed for a while. Some modders managed to put together a project that trained an AI model off of a Twitch live chat, and then used it to randomly replace all the text in a game. I believe the first mod of this was for Breath of the Wild, and a similar thing was done with Splatoon 3, but I don’t know if any other games have mods like that yet.

Mario RPG is in fact a remake not remaster. It at least worth $40 considering the effort of brand new graphics, new CGs, some new content and general polish. Most "remaster" or hell even re-remaster ala tlou don't even slap on new textures since it's just uncompressed textures during development.

Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy gave you three games, redone in modern graphics, and was not full price. Same with Spyro Reignited MediEvil was released with modern graphics, was like 30-40 dollars Yeah, I agree it's worth 40. Nintendo is selling it for 60.

I think we live in a strange time, with Nintendo allowing old games to be played on their Switch Online service and remakes of old games so they can look new and get the physical version if you want to keep gaming as it was back in the day. You can play Super Mario RPG both classic and remake.

2:18 the modders may be panicking, but this is why i keep my modded games on a very specific stable branch number. usually i keep my skyrim 2 patches behind in a stable branch and have vortex install the mods while disabling its auto-update feature. i do this for games like cyberpunk 2077 (cant believe im talking about this game), stalker anomaly, and stellaris as well.
