Kate Winslet was really the only thing good about this movie (and Jack Black since all of his scenes was with Kate Winslet) because without her, the movie would have been absolute trash!

Life always has more to offer but we are ignorant and keep living the same kind of tired, boring life just because we are so obsessed with it and do not try to do away with. We can experience the bright side of life if we get over the past,get into a new place,socialize with new people,make new bonds etc. This film made way back in 2006 still resonates with today's generation.

He gave a charming performance against the type. I kept expecting him to do something really funny and over-the-top but he didn't. His performance was very grounded. Also good chemistry with Kate Winslet. An unlikely couple that actually worked.

a brilliant romantic film with a brilliant cast, brilliant writing, brilliant soundtrack, brilliantly produced ...... a film that's good for the mind and for the soul ... a 'must see' film for people of all ages (above 12 or so) and of all walks of life ..... one of Eli Wallach's last performances (he was in his 90s here), where his character mimics his career and life in a way ... it's a tribute to the character he plays, but also to him simultaneously ..... amazing stuff

This is my favorite movie! To prove, I named my daughter after Iris :) I love Kate's character here. But I love more Amanda's love story.

One of my favorite films of all time. I think that Airbnb was inspired by this film. I love how magical this movie is.

Kate Winslet reminds me so much of Drew Barrymore in this movie... the hair, the red lipstick, the facial expressions...

Watch this every Xmas still. Definitely dating now with them in a video store and the fact Kate Winslet is now the same age as Arthur was in the movie

I remembered when I first watched this in 2008, I was impressed by the cinematography of this movie - everything looked so HD and refined hahaha, and the soundtrack by Hans Zimmer is fantastic

I love jack’s personality

That whole phone call scene was just *chefs kiss*

It's now 18th January 2023 and I have watched this film about six times over Xmas/New Year, and it has just snowed here for the first time ths year in England!! LOVE everything about the film but there are so many questions I want to ask, like where is the Mini parked? And why did Amanda take five coats (only 2 which she didn't wear were pushed into the wardrobe LOL

I love this movie with a passion. Saw it when it came out in 2006 with a friend, and she told me "it's funny, you're the Iris type and I'm more like Amanda". She was right. I'm still trying to work on my "pushover" side. And I watch the movie twice a year for some reason, in the summer and around Christmas time like everyone else.
