The Time Traveler's Wife (2009) Official Trailer - Rachel McAdams Movie HD
When Henry DeTamble meets Clare Abshire in a Chicago library they both understand that he is a time traveler, but she knows much more about him as he has not yet been to the times and places where they have already met. He falls in love with her, as she has already with him, but his continuing unavoidable absences while time traveling - and then returning with increasing knowledge of their future - makes things ever more difficult for Clare.

On a serious note, the movie is sweet and heartfelt, but the book is so in depth and rich and real with it's detail, to the point where it's utterly believable. It's very thought provoking, and such a page turner. Henry is more bitter and damaged from his condition, and Clare is such a fighting and stubborn woman. The book and the movie together seem like two separate scripts and stories. I'd recommend the book before anything.

+K. J. Hoyle Never agreed with anything more in my life. The book is so intellectually stimulating and is so beautiful. The cast for the film was incredible but a few hours is not enough time to convey the true gravity of their love story. The film had to sacrifice so many great characters that contributed to the story, and you just FEEL everything so much deeper when you read it. The scene with the handprint on the glass...that same whimsical and sad feeling...thats what the entire book embodies, and I feel like that was the only scene in the movie that truly captured that essence. Read the book. Please.

I thought the movie was very good given it only has 2 hours to convey the whole story. That's why I really believe any book adaptations need to be done through miniseries and not movies (ex: The Thorn Birds).

Me too! It's such a special book, isn't it? It was kinda hard to keep up with the "different" Henry's, but it just made sense in the end. The only thing I didn't understand was how he was able to time travel to times where he no longer was alive. His accident was heartbreaking, specially because it left him pretty much helpless, but I loved that last moment with old Claire. It was just perfect how they met again in time.

+nathaly _ As a guy, and a movie buff, i took a chance and saw this movie. While the acting was decent enough, and the story...well, held my interest, I guess... fairly, this is _not_ a "Guy movie" at all, save for the humorous parts where Henry has to use his whits when he travels, and seeing his Mom as an adult. Seemed to me the whole film was a metaphor for so-called "destined" love, and the way it changes [from the female perspective] after marriage. Henry was literally a fantasy guy around Claire who _whole life_ whom she could never "pin down" forever; the line that sums it up bests is "I was a big event!" That's how most women _wish_ to feel about romantic love. Not a terrible film, by any stretch, but truly one we which probably made a better book, and was _definitely_ made with a target audience in mind.

Eric Bana does a masterful job in his role as the traveler, and as if we all need another reason to fall in love with Rachel McAdams she is just perfect in her role as the sweet tormented wife deeply in love with a man who disappears in front of her at any time in time travel he can't control. The haters couldn’t stand out amongst the love this movie brings out in us. We all kind of wish we met our true love at a young age so we didn’t miss a moment without them. It’s heartbreaking but if I could have every moment with the right woman I would give anything for it and for her.

Claire first met Henry at aged 6 but Henry met Claire for the first time in real time , Claire was 20 and Henry was 28 he didn't go back in time and see Claire as a child until he was in his thirties , at this point he was already in a relationship with her! Nothing weird about that , apart from the time traveling bit !

Just finished the book and it was a mesmerizing experience. After watching the trailer, I like the casting choice. However, there is a massive spoiler in it that they really didn't need to include. If I have seen that before reading the book, it would have ruined my experience. So if you're tempted and read my comment first, perhaps watch the first few seconds of it in order to have a global idea, then either read the book or watch the movie. Otherwise you will be pissed about this trailer for a very long time.
