This probably a true story. As I saw MY Guru never aged. He lived for 216years and at the age of 200 he used look like 50.but he was a healer. He called death his own. He was a spiritual healer. I remember taht day when he announced that he will doe within 7 days. He sat in Meditation and called his own death.

this movie was so much better than i had expected it to be. hesitated for so long but finally watched it. i thought maybe i'd have skip through it halfway but didn't feel like pausing for a second when i was actually watching it. it's one of those movies that stay with you for a long time. an inexplicably fascinating concept with intrinsic emotions. feel good, thoughtful and timeless. also Blake's acting was remarkable as always. would definitely recommend if you're looking for a drama that isn't just from the basic romance genre.

Not growing old or being immortal sounds so enticing and beautiful, all the amazing things and places to see, technology advance and so on. But the other painful side such as seeing your children grow up older than you and seeing them die, and uncertain about falling in love when that person will leave you too, Then being left behind and alone sounds too heartbreakingly painful that the 'temporary' relationships seem so unfair. Living forever wouldn't be much fun if you had no other immortal to share it with.

This line of thought is what made the movie's ending very predictable. I figured since this is how most people thought about being immortal, chances are the director of the movie will think the same. The last 20 to 25 minutes of the movie was so predictable you could describe each major scene before the movie showed it especially the very end.

" Don't you miss having someone to love? " " its not the same when there is no growing old together, what ever that love is, it's just heart break " - Adaline - There is no truer love in the world, then the love you have growing old with someone that loves you. Blake Lively is not only an outstanding actress, she is incredibly beautiful as well. This film is incredible, really blow me away ive never seen a more beautiful made film. This is totally worth watching.

isn't it crazy how as humans we are obsessed with looking young, feeling young, being young. we wear makeup to look younger. we lie about our age to be younger. we do things to feel younger. we are so obsessed with this idea of being young and youthful. but the truth is, we should love ourselves every step and every stage of life. as adaline says "it's not the same when there's no growing old together" in regards to falling in love. if we are so obsessed with being youthful and 'young and beautiful', we will never fully experience the joys of growing old. the joys of becoming a whole. the joys of being at peace with yourself and the world around you.

Teri G. Yeah...no. Just because you can explain it with fancy scientific words doesn't make it not magic, that's just bad science fiction writing. "Why is that obviously supernatural thing happening?" "Bla bla quantum bla bla relativity...", is just bad and lazy writing, and you shouldn't let that make you think that sciency sounding words=science. (I haven't watched the movie yet, so if they gave a good explanation how that lightning bolt did only that specific action in all of her cells and not anything else, than I'm sorry, rant withdrawn)

Good points. My issue is that while for some people, semi-scientific explanations like this can be educational, for others, it might cause a confusion between scientific words and science, which might carry into their lives and make them, for example, easilly conned by people using scientific sounding explanations to cover bullshit.

The roll reversal of mother and daughter was so strange and beautiful. Reminded me of the end of the movie Interstellar.
