The History of the Buddhas of Bamiyan

Ойын-сауық

PLEASE REMEMBER TO PUT THE CAPTIONS ON! A brief history of the Buddhas of Bamiyan. Sometimes history can be even more strange than fiction. We tend to think that globalism started only during the last century but these monuments in Bamiyan were a vivid reminder of that vibrant and cosmopolitan world that existed over 1500 years ago, where Persian, Central Asian, Hellenic, Indian, and Chinese cultures intermingled and influenced each other at the crossroads of the Silk road.
I do not own the pictures or the music that is shown in this video and all the credits go to their respective owners. This is an amateur made video about the history of the Buddhas of Bamiyan, the adjacent historical monuments, and the landscapes, in the Bamiyan province, of Central Afghanistan.
Music: Track 14 of The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring original soundtrack, Lothlorien

These Bhudda statues were created in 6th century by Turkic or Mongol Hephthalites (ancestors of Hazara people). In caves all over Hazarajat and Afghanistan there were statues and painting with Asian face. After Afghans find them they were defaced and later taliban destroy the 2 larger bhuddas. The reason why they did this was to permanently remove hazaras culture and history from afghanistan.

Bruh, buddhism came with mauryan empire to AFG. It was the locals who made those statues(ancestors of hazaras, but didnt resemble hazaras, but rather the tajiks), not turkics

@@mkhagan8216 They were ancestors of hazaras(those ancestors make minority admix of hazaras, who are mainly mix of mongol and turkic), but the original bamyan locals would definetly resemble modern day tajiks from Bamyan much much more than the hazaras from there

@@balthazarnielsen6424 Not true, according to Chinese Buddhist monk Xuanzang and some other sources the people living in Bamiyan since as early as 7th century were Asiatic/Turkic looking people. The Tajiks in Bamiyan are not native to the region, they settled there during the 19th century. Besides Tajiks don't really have a fixed look, They can look different from each other based on the city/province their from. Even the Iranic looking Hazaras look closer to Shia Farsiwans than Tajiks like Panjshiris and Kabulis.

Few of Afghan people destroyed their own culture as a result of lack of knowledge or no sense. So sad about missing one of world’s precious heritage. Those who destructed can not able to build such things.
