Buddhas of Bamyan - Why were they destroyed? 🇦🇫
In this video i'm in the Bamyan Valley in Afghanistan exploring the mysterious Buddhas of Bamyan and the intricate cave network carved in the side of the cliff. Before the Islamic conquests in the region around the 6th and 7th centuries, the buddhas were constructed by monks some time around the 4th century however nothing but two holes in the cliff remain today. So why were they destroyed?
