The Hidden Truths About E-Collar Bans.

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

“Reward based training” is “most effective” training .. Even when it comes to behaviours that e-collars are used to address with dogs ….
This is the public statement of the British Veterinary Association (BVA). A statement that they have sent in writing to members of the English government in support of a ban on e-collars in England.
So I set about systematically breaking down their statement to establish exactly how truthful the BVA are being.
After all, responsible dog owners should be able to trust their vets. And vet organisations should be impartial, objective, honest and scientifically accurate.
Millions of animal lives depend on that.

An excellent video, let's hope that someone will see sense and respond to you. I congratulate you, Jamie on the amount of effort and research that you have put in to try and stop this nonsensical ban on e-collars.

I saw a video from FF community. They put an ecollar on a human and the human was shocked out of her skin. On closer inspection I could see the device was one of those cheap Chinese shock collars. The ones widely available on Amazon. Go figure. No wonder the FF community think ecollar users are barbaric. Something needs legislating and monitoring the cheap imports. That’s was gives ecollars a bad name.

I know this is about the banning of a collars, so it's specific, but this argument is universal. If science is to be weaponised, then it shows how desperate the users of " that" science are.

Is ARDO only fighting against the band in the UK or it is maybe going to fight for other European countries as well?

The vets, these are the same people who push the garbage dog food, stay out of dog training 99% of people can’t teach their dogs to walk on a leash properly. Most people that use e-collars are professionals refining training behaviour . Anything put in the wrong hands of people can be harmful, guns, knifes, automobile , and so on and so on. We have a large farm impossible to fence, our boxer great on leash , but a mind of his own off leash. E-collar saved him from being given away. Our collar has ring, vibrate, and tingle mode why tingle and not shock coz I put it on my neck first, at level 7 I felt a tingle. Our boxer has never felt more than level 3 , and that is only all of four times since we have the e-collar , it’s been 9 months now. Just the ring tone he will come running back from a hectare away. Might I add the other dogs while running freely with the boxer have learned to respond to the boxers ring tone coolest thing ever all six dogs will come running back just on the ring tone mode.

Well done Jamie. You'd think in this day and age true science and the truth would prevail. However it seems nowadays when a handful of people object to something, the best course of action is just to get rid of it. Sad times indeed.

Exactly, Jamie, there's little truth in those opinions beyond simply picking and breeding dogs without those instincts in the first place, which isn't realistic at all, since those are still dogs, they can still perform chasing acts, and I hear many force-free people say that their dog chases but doesn't kill... these are usually people outside of the UK where hunting laws are more lax and/or don't put your dog in a position to fail....without failure you cannot grow & learn in anything, ever! (what's worse is some of these people are scientists! ignoring their own knowledge of emotions and ideology). this ban isn't preventative & it isn't proactive, it's lazy parenting, similar to saying boys will be boys or girls are mean or that's just the way it is. rather than correcting the behaviour, the same way that parents, police and the law stop people running around killing each other freely.
