Funny is that because she can't be a star against the women's welfare league unless no one plays defense, and she gets fouls called on anyone within 2 feet of her playing defense. She has numerous push offs with left had to do step back shot and referees let that foul go because they feel sorry for her. She plays like a rookie .The only category she leads the women's welfare league in is she is number one in her turnovers made. She isn't good enough for this league you are making light of .

I never knew women's basketball was played in the Olympics. Now I do. Why? Caitlin Clark. I would have been at least interested in the upcoming games, but not now. Why? No Caitlin Clark. The WNBA is mired in the past, captive of too many irrelevant old "stars" like 42 year old Diana Turasi who herself was put on the US Women’s Olympic Team as a rookie. Turasi has five gold metals already, but apparently needs to have six and is willing to keep America’s most exciting young female basketball player off the team to get that sixth medal. Clark was not chosen by the WNBA leadership because of its concern over how Caitlin Clark’s millions of fans would react to what would likely be limited playing time. Putting their heads together, the WNBA leadership, instead of giving Caitlin Clark limited playing time, decided to give Caitlin zero playing time, and kept her off the team. Brilliant. What is the WNBA leadership concerned about now? They need not be concerned about anything. No one will be caring or watching. As noted on one of many news media reports on Caitlin Clark, “Her celebrity status would’ve elevated the game to a global status, much like the NBA. The league will now have to wait at least four more years for this chance”. But this chance won’t exist in four years. Great work WNBA. You stole this chance from everyone, who would have loved it and shared the excitement.

In reality it would not matter what they thought. It would only matter what the people running the station thought. If the station could replace either one of them with a less experienced analyst that more people would watch they would do it in a heartbeat. It appears you missed his point completely. Women's basketball is struggling for viewers. CC brought a lot of viewers to college basketball the last 2 seasons and has brought a lot of viewers to the WNBA early in her career. The U.S. team had a chance to get more viewers without hurting their chance to succeed and they blew it.

I’m sure one exists but I’ve yet to see one female analyst come out fully in favor of CC being g on the team. The whole CC convo is starting to appear as if the women think we are “mansplaning” something to them and they are resisting just for the hell of it. Let’s be honest: Isiah Thomas did not make the roster because the team was stacked with guards and almost no one on the team liked him. All it would have taken for Thomas to make the team was to cut Michael Jordan, John Stockton, Clyde Drexler, or Magic Johnson and for him to undo all the bad blood he generated with all the other players over a decade. And the main thing is the Dream Team did not need him. Scottie Pippen when asked about Thomas said something like, “Someone had to be left off that team. There were a lot of good players that were left off that team. I was fortunate to be selected.”

HERE ARE THE FACTS. Rookies have been on the Olympic team before : REBECCA LOBO IN 1996, DIANA TAURASI IN 2004, CANDACE PARKER IN 2008 AND BREANNA STEWART IN 2016. Here is the average list of their first 12 games rookie year (in fairness to Clark who played 12 games so far). YEAR HEIGHT FG% 3P% FT% TRB AST STL BLK PTS REBECCA LOBO 1997 6'4 0,33 0,21 0,68 8,17 1,92 1,08 1,67 11,83 DIANA TAURASI 2004 6'0 0,45 0,42 0,81 3,42 3,83 1,25 0,75 18,25 CANDACE PARKER 2008 6'4 0,47 0,38 0,74 9,58 4,08 1,58 2,25 16,75 BREANNA STEWART 2016 6'4 0,42 0,19 0,84 9,75 2,92 1,08 2,08 16,33 CAITLIN CLARK 2024 6'0 0,36 0,32 0,90 5,33 6,33 1,50 0,92 16,83 As you can see Caitlin Clark is a better free throw shooter, highest in assist, 2nd in PTS, 2nd in STL, 3rd in 3P%, and a better rebounder and shotblocker than Taurasi at the same height. A way better than Rebecca Lobo (who had 0 game in WNBA during the 1996 Olympic) in all categories except TRB.
