She also has better numbers than DIANA TAURASI, the Olympic team leader! POINTS : Caitlin 16.8 Taurasi 16.3, REBOUNDS: Caitlin 5.3 Taurasi 4.5, ASSISTS: Caitlin 6.3 Taurasi 1.1.

And five small forwards were more deserving of a spot on the Dream Team than Larry Bird. Legends get a spot for their body of work.

The idea that DT has not earned her spot or is less deserving is mind-blowingly absurd to a actual basketball fan. I do not hate Clark and think she will be a HoF'er by the end of her career. I think she is exciting and has a lot of greatness to come. I love the way she handles herself on and off the court, I love that she is fearless, she is hard not to cheer for in spite of her Stans and Simps. However, am a long time basketball fan from way before Caitlin was tear in her daddy's eye the whole narrative around her and the W is ridiculous. So, from a neutral perspective.... So ya, if you don't only look at cheery picked stats Taurasi and Clark not playing the same position, Taurasi being an ancillary option while Clark is the Fever's not just first option but focal option: DT: Turnovers 1.7, Clark 5.5; Plus/minus DT -0.2, Clark -10.5; DT 3pt% 34.6, Clark 32.2; Shooting% DT 38.6, Clark 36.7,... Defensive rating out of 140 WNBA players: DT 36, Clark 133. And, Clark is a point guard with assist to turnover ratio of 1.09, which if you don't know is a horrible number for a point guard. Now, we're only around quarter into the season so small sample size; you want to talk about career numbers? But stats only tell so much and the only stat that really counts in the end is the one on the scoreboard. Clark still has that small sample size but Taurasi has Hall of Fame numbers. Taurasi is not only one of the greatest scorers ever, she is one of the most clutch players ever, something Clark has not shown. Taurasi is a much more physical player whose had success not only the W but internationally, Clark is having a hard time adjusting to the physicality of the W so FIBA will basically fist her. Taurasi is adaptable and can fit in almost any offensive scheme, Clark is needs a Clark focused offense she has not shown adaptability. Taurasi has experience across multiple teams, teammates, coaches; Clark does not which is important when you going to get a few practices. Taurasi can play play three positions on offense and defend four, Clark can play two on offense and maybe two on defense. DT has shown her leadership in multiple situations, Clark has not. Now you are obviously a 'hardcore' Caitlin fan so ask yourself this: At the end of Clark's career when she's achieved scoring records and won multiple championships and Gold Medals but while she's still a very good player she's no longer peak Caitlin. There's a new 'It Girl' come into the league who is struggling a bit doing OK for her first month as a rookie. That new girl has a billion followers on Insta and will sell millions in merch but hasn't really earned an Olympics spot. How you going to feel about them giving the new girl what Clark has earned? Or, are you just going to jump to the new bandwagon?

@@colpul2103 Diana Taurasi WAS a standout player with impressive stats, but there were other players with comparable or even superior individual statistics who did not achieve the same level of TEAM success in terms of NCAA championships. So why did she make the roster as a ROOKIE? So lets base it on this Diana Taurasi a rookie who was called up days after her final NCAA match. She did not try out for the Olympic team, they selected her simply based on her college career and youth participation. Comparison of Key Players: Diana Taurasi (UConn, 2000-2004) - Points per game: 15.0 - Rebounds per game: 4.3 - Assists per game: 4.5 - Total points: 2,156 - Championships: 3 (2002, 2003, 2004) - Awards: Naismith College Player of the Year (2003, 2004) Alana Beard (Duke, 2000-2004) - Points per game: 19.8 - Rebounds per game: 6.1 - Assists per game: 3.7 - Total points: 2,687 - Championships: 0 - Awards: Wade Trophy (2004), Wooden Award (2004) Seimone Augustus (LSU, 2002-2006) - Points per game: 19.3 - Rebounds per game: 5.2 - Assists per game: 1.6 - Total points: 2,702 - Championships: 0 - Awards: Naismith College Player of the Year (2005, 2006) Cappie Pondexter (Rutgers, 2002-2006) - Points per game: 18.3 - Rebounds per game: 4.0 - Assists per game: 3.9 - Total points: 2,211 - Championships: 0 - Awards: Big East Player of the Year (2006) While Taurasi had an extraordinary college career with both impressive individual stats and team success, other players like Alana Beard and Seimone Augustus were also outstanding but did not achieve the same level of team success in terms of championships. Caitlin Clark (Iowa, 2020-2024): Points per game (PPG): 27.1 Rebounds per game (RPG): 7.1 Assists per game (APG): 7.8 Field Goal Percentage (FG%): 46.2% 3-Point Field Goal Percentage (3P%): 35.7% Free Throw Percentage (FT%): 85.9% Diana Taurasi (UConn, 2000-2004): Points per game (PPG): 15.0 Rebounds per game (RPG): 4.3 Assists per game (APG): 4.5 Field Goal Percentage (FG%):: 46.1% 3-Point Field Goal Percentage (3P%): 38.3% Free Throw Percentage (FT%): 80.7% Caitlin Clark has a higher scoring average (27.1 PPG) compared to Diana Taurasi (15.0 PPG). Rebounding: Clark also leads in rebounds per game (7.1 RPG) over Taurasi (4.3 RPG). Assisting: Clark averages more assists per game (7.8 APG) compared to Taurasi (4.5 APG). Shooting Efficiency: Field goal percentages are nearly identical, with Clark at 46.2% and Taurasi at 46.1%.Taurasi has a slightly better 3-point shooting percentage (38.3%) compared to Clark (35.7%).Clark is more efficient from the free-throw line at 85.9%, compared to Taurasi’s 80.7 So please explain to me how Diana as a rookie made it onto the Olympic roster when she was not the best coming out of college even though she benefited from padding her career with championships? Championships she obviously earned because she had an awesome TEAM. Caitlin Clark should have always been in consideration to be on roster much like Diana Taurasi was when she was still a collegiate athlete. Caitlin Clark (Indiana Fever 2024) Points per game (PPG): 16.1 Rebounds per game (RPG): 5.1 Assists per game (APG): 6.2 Steals per game: 1.3 Blocks per game: 1.0 Field Goal Percentage (FG%): 38.3% Three-Point Percentage (3PT%): 32.8% Total points 242 Total rebounds 76 Total assists 93 Diana Taurasi (Phoenix Mercury 2024) Points per game (PPG): 16.7 Rebounds per game (RPG): 4.7 Assists per game (APG): 1.9 Steals per game: 0.6 Blocks per game: 0.2 Field Goal Percentage (FG%): 38.9% Three-Point Percentage (3PT%): 34.8% Total points 204 Total rebounds 54 Total assists 22 "Diana can play three on offense and defend four" okay bro. It's not fair to compare Diana's complete professional career since Caitlin is only a rookie. But we can compare Caitlin to Diana rookie season. Diana Taurasi (Phoenix Mercury 2004) Points per game (PPG): 17 Rebounds per game (RPG): 4.4 Assists per game (APG): 3.9 Steals per game: 1.3 Blocks per game: 0.5 Field Goal Percentage (FG%):42% Three-Point Percentage (3PT%): 37% Total points 511 Total rebounds 135 Total assists 115 Caitlin Clark is about to obliterate these numbers Diana should not be on this Olympic roster. Go ahead and keep on defending the indefensible

On a good team, CC would be averaging 20 pts and 10 assists per game. She does need to alter her game a bit to cut down on her turnovers. However many of them have been because her teammates were not ready for the ball. Suns did win and it was not pretty. Coach Sides pulled most of the starters when it was apparent this was gonna be a big loss. Best to save them for a winnable game, even though so.many hate the coach, I think.she is trying to keep her star happy, but get her to play a more controlled game. Which is very important for the team to.win more games.

This anti Clark movement comes from the top. Are they taking Clark for granted or do they just not care about money nor success? Caitlin has to consider going to Europe where she will be a star who is appreciated. She needs to make a long range decision to answer them properly and leave the WNBA to return to their constant debt strategy. Low viewership and perpetual debt seems to be the preferred state of operation for the WNBA I think Clark has to leave them to their squalor and exit to Europe. She will build basketball there and be the star she deserves to be.

Stewie is on the Olympics team and should have said something, I wouldn’t give her no money unless I’m taking half everything before expenses. What She Should Do, is do like the other women and go to the international league but get some type of Very Expensive contract and Also Bring Liz Cambrage and Tamika catchings to not only play but act as her Bash Brothers. Liz is good but also very mean. If she could get some type of streaming rights, her and that league could make a Fortune. Then she could show, how her stardom can make money for everyone including herself.
