The Haloform Reaction
Once again, we will be interested in learning about reactions that break carbon-carbon bonds, as this will allow us to perform necessary transformations on substrates. The haloform reaction is one such reaction, and it is commonly used to transform methyl ketones into carboxylic acids. Let's see how this works!

I was confused by the Ar for a minute, thinking it was argon before I realised it was an aromatic 😅 Thanks for the great video, Prof. Dave!

Hey, Professor Dave! My chem students love your vids! Thanks, you help make teach chem easy as Sunday Morning! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! P.S., I like the hair cut! My students are on the older vids so they think you still have long hair!
Professor Dave your lectures on Nucleophilic substitution reactions , coordination compounds and Modern physics are my favourite ...it helped me a lot to prepare my pre medical exams !! Keep developing this channel ❤ You deserve more subs for your crystal clear precise way of teaching

Thanks, Professor Dave! I am deeply enjoying your botany series as well! Much appreciated!
Exceptional clarity and originality of content deliverance
I love how im still functioning when this video was posted. Love you dave
I was just studying organic chemistry when you post this, thanks as usual, professor Dave :)
damn i remember when dave had 20k subs and me and my friend found him and he helped us pass biology lol man dave ily
great video, thank you for the time and effort!
Great explanation Sir. Thank you for your efforts in making such a information rich contents
So much thank you proffesor 🙏🙏🙏🙏 i was confused with mechanism behind this but now i have cleared
Professor Dave please try to do Cyclisation reactions , and intermediate rearrangement reactions also...carbocation rearrangements are my favourite.. :)
Hi Dave, in my 3rd year of chemistry, was wondering if you have any inorganic chemistry videos concerning phosphorus or metal NMR spectra (like tungsten and copper) and some example complexes for these?

what is 6th year chem going?
thank you professor dave!
What happens if there is a singular alpha proton on the other carbon atom?
Hey prof. Hope you a great productive day.
Im panicking for my nmat. Glad I found this! 😊
Thank you prof 🥺🥺🥺❤❤❤❤
Nice.... but had my exam yesterday. Thanks professor Dave 😁
Great...Thanks sir!
Thank you professor
Thanks!
Best Teacher
I got a solid B+ in Ochem thanks to this channel
Very nice
No one really mentions why hydroxide wouldn’t simply kick out the first iodine atom in an Sn2 fashion. Aren’t alphahaloketones extremely electrophilic at the C-X?
Youe lecture are too good i am seeing from India
But why does Ethanol give positive iodoform test then ?
When will you release the other private videos?

I release one per week!
i learnt more from this than a week of chem lessons lol
Thx.

I feel like organic chemistry's vernacular is more esoteric than physics or even biology. Maybe I'm just not dedicated enough to keep up, and I secretly just want to do math because there are less terms to remember. 😅 Great vid. Thank you
