The best match in football history was in my opinion Netherlands vs. Czech Republic at the Euro 2004. No penalties, but full on two-way football for 90 minutes, lots of chances on both sides, beautiful goals. Was a faster game from the get-go, compared to the Argentina vs. France game, where France had a really slow start and were "invisible" for the first half. Still a great game tho Argentina vs. France and a deserved win for Argentina. But objectively, not the best football game ever.

This final and Morocco entering the semi-finals are the ones that give me goosebumps, football is just another thing man.

I watched this final with my best friend in Turkey. We were at a pub and it was packed. And every single one was supporting Argentina because of Messi. there is an issue - the thousands of workers who died making the roads and stadiums and bridges etc in Qatar - this might have been a great World Cup but unfortunately you can outlook the suffering and heart broken families - thousands of them! As a Brazilian, I obviously don't like Argentina, but it was Argentina or the Europeans. For me, the key moment was Martinez’ save in the last minute of extra time. It changed the course of history (99% certain of that). How often does the goalkeeper have such a moment in a World Cup final? The headlines are usually made by the attacking players who win the game, but this was a defensive player turning up at the biggest moment.

I completely agree, watched it live. Martinez faded into the background but he should be on the same talking level as Messi and di Maria, that save singlehandedly changed the course of the whole match, it was a fast and incredibly high pressure moment that he stepped up to and delivered. This was one of the most beautiful matches of football I've ever seen. I was at my cousin's house with him and my brother (all three of us love Messi and former Barcelona team), we watched every second of the game, we felt these crazy goosebumps during it. We almost got in tears in the end, when Messi finally won his well-deserved trophy. For him and Argentina we drank all night and woke up the next day with a huge memorable hangover :)

This was not just a football match, this was an experience !
