The Girsan Mc14-T, does the 380acp have a place in today's EDC market?

Like all things in the firearms industry, what once was old is new again. This was clearly the case at Shot Show this year. Along with the re-release of the Beretta Mod 86 Cheetah, we saw the new Girsan MC14-T imported by EAA. The MC14-T is very similar to the Model 86 from Beretta, with the same classic design and of course the classic tip-up barrel, with a much more affordable price point. I’m calling it now, don’t be surprised if we see a re-birth of the 380acp carry gun.

Got my 14T last week, runs like a singer sewing machine, although it does not like Speer GDHP rounds, eats everything else I have. I’ve got RA in hands & this gun solves some of my problems. The Cheetah 84 mags work in it just fine

EAA-Girsan has also announced two more; one being what looks like a clone (MC14G84) more closer to the classic Beretta 84 (maybe F or FS model) and another (MC14BDA) a clone of the Browning BDA 380.

Dude I’m incredibly impressed with my tisas b45r. Scooped one after your review and it’s definitely a great blaster. I’m a bit of a snob and was humbled when got this thing. The Turks are killing it with handguns lately. Extremely high quality with extremely affordable prices

i have had good and bad experiences with eaa girsan. guns are ok with some feeding issues. but the real problem with eaa girsan is their customer support, the worst i have ever dealt with. they force you to go through an ffl dealer, which means you pay another transfer fee ($40) and shipping costs both ways ($56). it almost makes sense to just buy another gun, just not anything from eaa corp. i have used repair services from both ruger and springfield armory and they paid shipping costs both ways and no transfer fees

That’s not a girsan thing. That’s using a ffl who sucks. If you are just sending back the pistol for gun smithing. The ffl can ship it as shuch. All you would pay is the shipping cost with.

You can ship it as normal and they can ship it back straight to your door if it is the same serial number coming back. Have done that with ruger several times.

@@critical_mass6453 i have done that as well with ruger, kimber and colt, but eaa girsan will not accept any returns that do not go through an ffl dealer. this also means that you pay for shipping both ways and when it comes back to the ffl dealer, you have to pay another transfer fee. my free warranty service from eaa cost me $110. eaa does not know what customer service is. eaa is only a few miles from me and they will not accept it directly. i hate eaa!

Nice video. The Ultra rare Berretta 86 pistol is the only tip up barrel pistol in 380 that I know of. Berretta made 8 different models in the original 80 series. The 86 is the rarest of them all. Its a single stack 8 round 380 with a tip up barrel. Now Berretta has introduced the new model 80X which they changed to a doublestack 380 non tip up barrel pistol. The best price I could find on it currently is $769.00 plus shipping, taxes, FFL fee, etc. This is a new Girsan/EAA version of the old 86 Berretta and its been changed to be a 13 round doublestack 380 and they added a pic rail to improve the looks and functionality. Its a incredible value at about half what Berretta would have to charge for it. Girsan and Tisas are known for making near exact replicas of yesteryears all metal handguns at roughly half the cost of what they would be today. The Tisas US Army model 1911 is so perfectly copied its been adopted as the original in many situations. This pistol is a perfect firearm for the elderly shooter who may have developed arthritis or a small person with limited strength to rack a side like a injured person or many small women, etc. It doesn't seem to like RNFP projectiles and feeding issues from that projectile shape have been shown on other videos. Other than that is very accurate and a quality DA/SA pistol for a very economical price.

380acp gets extensive attention from manufacturers and ammo makers since many international markets forbid "military calibers" to their civilians. If the military uses the 9mm, then their civilians have to use 380acp. This is common in much of South America. 380acp was also a popular Police caliber before the explosion of 9mm Army and Police arms in Europe.

Nice-looking pistol, and I like that pop-up barrel, but it is too large for feasible conceal-carry (at least to me). I prefer pocket pistols like the LCP, and snubbie revolvers.

The only objection I have to carrying the tip up barrel model is that it has no extractor. One fail to fire and the gun is useless until you can dump or dig out the cartridge. For a range gun it is easy and fun to fire and practice. There are other Beretta 80 series copies that are a better choice and have an ejector.

Man I want to say yes. But in all honesty. I can’t shoot Glocks for shit. My eyes are at the point where I can’t shoot irons. And the grip angle on the glock pistol is really tough for me to pick up the dot. I appreciate the kind words. But I feel to share the performance of the trigger the shooting had to be there as a metric.

This type of gun, not sure rds is the way. It's 380acp it's a phone booth gun. Up close and personal. Part of choosing an edc pistol is understanding the use and deployment. 380 is not really a rds distance round. IMO

Beretta 86 clone. The difference being the rail on the 14t makes the ugliest part of the Beretta 86 look better. This is actually a prettier gun but the slide finish is not the beautiful blued the original came in. I would really like to see someone do that slide in hot blue. The finish on the gun is really nice. This gun releases the barrel latch with a 1/4 turn lever on the right side of the gun on the original 86 you had to rotate the lever 180 degrees. The mags for the BDA and all the Cheetah 380 double stacks will run in this gun. They are clones. The bda version of the girsan will swap slides. It's a bit much for a carry gun but for a purse gun or a night stand it would work fine or just to have it because it's cool.

I bought one and had nothing but fail to feed problems with it. Had to pay to send it back and return it and they did nothing to fix it. I took it to a local gunsmith and he fixed it in about an hour. I will never buy a firearm from Girsan again. I don't recommend this company to anyone. All it took to fix it was polish the lower feed ramp!
