I have a Tisas Zigana as well and yes this is a great shooter..

Love my MC P35 (hi power clone). About 200 rounds thru it so far. Such a great shooter.

Happy to hear it! So far our results have been outstanding and we haven't had anyone with a complaint about them.

I carry the regard. Good gun, I have ~ 2,500 rounds through it. I haven’t had a single major malfunction (failure to feed, eject, stove pipe, light strike on primer, etc) that I can remember. The only issue I have ever had with it is not consistently locking back on a empty mag when shooting. They are still about $450.

You should do a review only on the white and gold Girsan.

After watching Outlaws video on it, I really wanted one. Got the MC1911C as a graduation gift from welding school. Several thousand rounds through it(cheap bulk ammo and +P hollow points) with no issues as long as I use quality mags. Great gun for the money.

I own the Girsan regard elite in gold plated and i agree, I love this firearm, it is on my KZread channel.

I have the Regard Gen 4. Had one issue with it failing to extract when I first took it out. But a couple boxes of ammo later and it's like butter. I love the thing and it's my daily for when its practical to carry a full size. Worth noting that only some parts are interchangeable between Girsan and Beretta, but the gen4 itself has enough upgrades that I've only changed the grips.

Own 2, the Beretta clone and 1911 XLT S. 2 of the most easiest guns to shoot. Very shooter friendly

How do you like it? That's the only Girsan I haven't had any trigger time on yet. All the rest of them have been very solid!

I got the Mc Regard Select 1 Gold. Was aiming for that Gold Lux but the Select 1 Gold was on sale and actually in stock, still happy with it just feel like it’s second luxurious compared to the engraved gold lux one. That new White and gold accent one looks like it would pair nice with it too.

Where did you get the Select 1 model?

I have the girsan 92 version of the M9a3 had barrel crowned to the slide and langdon kit down loaded awesome my carry gun spent less with everything than a brand new M9A3

So I just bought a Girsan 1911 5" government model in FDE and with the first 100 rounds this is what I have experienced. Premature slide lock found that out by replacing the slide lock with the one from my Springfield which fixed that problem. Not going fully into battery because the extractor is behind the round (even with wilson combat mags) and last the sights from the factory are not good, I have good grouping left to right but shoots low. I have seen reviews and videos here on KZread having the same issues. So for the money its ok but go into it looking at it as a project gun. Wilson slide stop, extractor and recoil spring ordered and on the way along with some good night sights. From a new Girsan owner just a heads up on what you might face, or maybe mine was built on Friday and yours will run great.

That's very surprising to me! We haven't had a customer yet report any issues with one. I agree that the sights aren't the best which is why I replaced mine as well. That would be the biggest fault I see in them. We have sold a couple hundred now so it could have just been a bad one that you got.

I feel like Tisas has taken over the "best bargain" category for 1911's now that they stopped using MiM internals.

From my experience the Girsans have been more consistent in terms of quality control and they seem to last a lot longer than the Tisas. I have had several of those come in on trade that look like they have actually seen two world wars, but the customer claimed they only put 100 or so rounds through them. They could be better now, those are just the ones I've experienced.

Do you know if all the parts all milspec 1911? Noticed some 1911s use non-standard parts, and parts are tough to find.

If they never heard of Girsan then they've never watched gun channels on KZread.

I had heard of them, but don’t think I had ever seen one at the stores I normally go to. Until this week. She’s mine now! Can’t wait to shoot it, my first 1911. I had always held off because the prices are normally pretty high. If you have one of these 1911’s, what’s a good brand of magazine for it? It only came with one.

WOW, Girsan rocks; I ain’t ever buying the far more expensive Kimbers and Colts!

They look really good and they actually fired very nice but I owned one for a short period of time and quickly found out that the hammer and other parts are MIM because my hammer and sear broke right off. Try to put a warranty claim in and it was a big pain in the ass so I ended up contacting Wilson Combat got some forged Parts, the pistol was perfect after that. However I own two of the regard mc9's and they have been flawless. Who knows maybe I just got a bad one.

Any chance ya can help me out? I bought a Girsan mc9 T match. It came with red dot with integrated fiber rear sight. I wanna take the red dot off and just put a rear sight. What will fit it??? I've emailed EAA several times about it but no response. I've seen the Canadian extreme edition comes with a rear sight so I know their out there. Any idea what I can use???? Great vid on Girsan!

I would recommend contacting Girsan directly instead of EAA. They might be willing to send you a plate for it. I wouldn't think they would be compatible with other plates since it's a unique cut. Unfortunately the guns that come with a dot on it aren't very adaptable to different set ups.

Do you have any other calibers for the regard?

The Regard only comes in 9mm at the moment. I don't know of any plans for them to produce other calibers.

I have their 1911 with optic. The optic is pure junk. Do you know if I can get plates for Holosun optic? Thank you.

It is from a capacity standpoint. There are several 1911s approved for California, but I'm not sure if that particular model is on the approved list. That would be a better question for a California dealer.

They're basically the compliment to Canik in my mind. Canik makes incredibly high value Polymer guns and the all metal Girsans are of the same quality/performance. The Caniks are better than the polymer Girsans though.

The Girsan Regard are ISO 90001 certified to NATO specs just like Canik is ISO 90001 and NATO spec. Canik guarantees the barrels will last up to 30,000 rounds. Both manufacturers make excellent firearms. I own colts, sig sauer, Canik gets the win just because they have so many variations of pistols they offer.
