Thanks for the great review. Would you say the fabric holds up well? It seems to crazy thin. I'm concerned about my backpack straps causing abrasion (they have a somewhat rough texture).
Good review and can you tell me outside of the Down vs Synthetic which is better Fitz Roy series or DAS? I do not do much activity basically to keep me warm during winter -25 C.
so how cold could you wear this down to over just a base layer? in terms of warmth, how does it compare to patagonia's fitz roy hoody or alploft parka?
Hi how can i identify a das patagonia parka. from what ive seen online it does not say "das" anywhere on the jackets, does it have a model number on the tag or something similar? thanks
would this be suitable for skiing?
Drop in pockets on my 2008 DAS fit climbing skins nicely. Not sure about the new version.
I really wish Patagonia still made them..

Just had a crash on my das light hoody , which is only a lighter version but same outside outside materials , and even tough I crashed in some trees and rocks ( paragliding crash on takeoff ) the jacket had no issues... I’m very pleased

Comparable to the Fitz Roy? I read that previous DAS were “much better.” No idea how but is this true?
Too much talk, not enough show. You didn't even show it being worn. The latest DAS Parka (end 2021) is good, BUT, unless you are wearing it over several layers, size down. I'm normally a size S and, despite wearing a couple of layers, I had to size down to to XS for a good fit. The zippered pockets are now tiny - my hands only just fit into the hand pockets and I struggle to fit my iPhone 13 Plus Max into the zippered chest pocket.

Thats perfect sizing, belay parkas are supposed to be used over base layer - mid layer - Shell - Belay Parka

Agreed. Sizing is correct for it's intended use. Great piece of kit. If I slide my phone "down" into the pocket it won't fit. If I slide it "up" it fits.
