Thanks for the review. I have a DAS Light and a DAS Parka. Is the AlpLoft's sleeve length the shortest of the three?

Okay so actually the AlpLoft is about even with the sleeve length of the DAS Parka, and the DAS Light is the shortest of the three.

I plan to be in 20-30 degree weather and the puff barely does the job . Should I get the light or regular parka . Need something that can come compact .

Well If you're looking for something that can be compact you can't really beat the DAS Light and for that temperature range the DAS Light works really well. The regular DAS Parka is pretty bulky but is definitely way warmer than the DAS Light, but if you layer smart with the DAS Light you can make up that difference in insulation

is DAS light warmer than micro puff hoodie?

Yeah, the DAS Light is slightly warmer than the Micro Puff. It's mostly due to the elimination of the exterior baffling on the DAS Light

How do they compare to the grade VII parka?

  • @TheBelaytionship

Yo! So to keep it simple the Grade VII=AlpLoft Down Parka. So whatever is said about the AlpLoft can be applied to the Grade VII (and vice versa) The AlpLoft is just the updated version of the Grade VII, and if I'm correct there isn't a really big difference in warmth between the two

@@TheBelaytionship AlpLoft = 295 grams of 800-fill down, whereas the Grade VII was stitched with 330 grams of 800-fill. The Grade VII will be warmer option if you can still find one and need the extra thermal value.

@@cbgny23 Yeah I was aware of those metrics, I just didn't want to get into the nitty gritty yet lol. But what I will say is that even though the Grade VII on paper beats the AlpLoft in warmth I think in actual use it'll end up being just as warm as the Grade VII due to the updated baffle design.
