Deferred on my RCI first time, and went back and got it a year later. Honestly, best learning experience I've had in all the assessments I've ever done. It made me a better instructor, and I will never make the errors that I made on the first attempt ever again!

First thing i test on a jacket is how well it's designed around wearing helmets. So i come to a shop and ask them to give something like BD half dome(or just take mine if possible), and only then go to a jacket section.

I recently started using a micro puff and think that is fantastic, but I’m not sure I can stretch to that price tag on the parka. I thought the “deferral” part was super useful Jez. All the mind games that we put ourselves through has been set aside for such a long time as people concentrate on the detail. Having the headspace to be mellow is arguably one of the key aces candidates need up their sleeves. This made me think are you going to do something about top tips for tactics when leading?

I love my Micro Puff! Not many days go by when I don't wear it. They're so good, I have two! Good suggestion, I'll add it to the list :)

Jez! Hope you're getting excited for our new sheets of white, coming in and out. Any chance to do an avalanche receivers video 🙏👌. I've used leant devices multiple times from friends in Chamalam but wanting my own now, for Scottish touring and mixed climbs. Enjoy Spain 🇪🇸. Diolch

Trying to make my mind up between the patagucci DAS and the Arcteryx Nuclei SV. Love patagucci with the iron clad guarantee, going to be used for Scottish winter belays and for the rest of the year over the harness as an RCI or rope access wondering which one you might favour. Cheers

I think they're both quality, it probably comes down to which fits you best I reckon.

I’ve got a DAS light and bloody love it !!! Is it a lot more of a jacket insulation wise ???

I think it is yes, the DAS light is almost more like the Micro Puff. The DAS is super nice...

£420 man! they're becoming the social experiment amongst such companies like balenciaga, off-white etc. Although I own Patagonia stuff so a tad hypocritical, its more oooh look at me. i also share your opinion, you get what you pay for, but there does become a limit over stupidity for me.

I agree and disagree at the same time. One of the reasons why I “invest” in Patagonia is their iron clad guarantee, I’ve sadly had to return and replace 3x Down Sweaters. They provided a replacement completely for free! Saving me nearly £700!! Total worth the investment.

@@peterbest4943 yeah 100% agree with you aswell, another reason I buy decent stuff, been able to return and get free replacement Rab stuff over the years, must admit I stopped buying rab a few years ago, I tend to buy Swiss stuff more now.
