The Flash - Actual Brain Rot With A Bit Of Heart

Ойын-сауық

The Flash is a VFX nightmare, filled with nostalgia-bait that audiences have grown tired of, and a multiverse story that carries little weight, but it does have a heart-and that’s got to count for something… right?

Was any of that even proven? Also, I wonder why you people never think like, 2 minutes about this, and use the few braincells you have. You are a movie star. You have tons of money, you are famous. Everyone wants to be friends with you, women threw themselves at you. WHY in the hell would you bother with indoctrinating (if that is even possible?) some random, not even rich person, into loving you, when as I said, you are a star, you can get ANYONE?!? Maybe, just maybe, this whole hashtag-me-twee thing is an attempt by some of these people to just milk the rich for all the money they have, eh? Ever consider that? especially given how lax all the evidence is? After Johnny Depp now Kevin Spacey was also proven to be innocent. How many more before you realize maybe do not listen to allegations without any proof?

But DC has been hemraging money for 10 plus years, the 2 ain't even comparable, That being said since Endgame the M-she-U has been on a decline and really dropped the ball especially with all the Chick Heros but Marvel deserves another chance to right the ship so let's see how the next 2 years pan out. As for DC it's a dumpster 🔥 and it's basically been that way after superman vs batman . The batman movies have been solid except for 3 but it still was. Ok.

I did not HATE the movie like I thought I would, but Miller was the worst part of the film. The closest he gets to being remotely likeable is when he is attempting to be the serious one when the younger version is nothing BUT obnoxious and when it comes down to the stuff with his parents. Keaton was excellent and his reason for retirement/depression is the ONLY way Batman EVER QUITS, because the job was done and Gotham was now the safest city in the world leading to him no longer having a mission and as such just bumming around his mansion bored. Supergirl was FAR better than I had expected and I genuinely enjoyed her take on the character. Affleck and Gadot had a decent cameo in the beginning but the reiteration of the Whedon Lasso of Truth joke but on Batman this time was rather cringy. I did like the ending where there is no magic fix, some shit has to happen, and his smallest variation so that he can get his dad free still fucks up the world anyway. 5/10 tops

Just a lot of stopping and talking and the entire conflict always being based on the main characters incompetence. Fact is flash is stupid hard to do, and they never should have tried it. The amount of inconsistency in that show is out of this world, Barry's speed is vastly different every other scene, it makes no sense that anyone who isn't a speedster could ever escape from him ever and I mean fucking ever, but bad guys escape him like 5 times per episode just to prolong the conflict with no thought to logic or common sense, the action is always godawful basically just throwing each other into walls the whole time, the acting is blatantly average, the drama is visibly and cheaply manufactured, Barry has an IQ of 25, he can think and react in flashpoint but he's always just standing there looking surprised while villains either attack him or run away. I could go on, but I won't, but I could. Really one of the worst TV shows ever absolute nonsensical dogwater. That ending was terrible because the whole point of the story was to not change history or else bad things will happen. Then, Barry moves a tomato can and probably edit the trial footage because we see him look at a camera before leaving the store. Then all of sudden his father isnt in jail when he was supposed to be. Then, George Clooney shows up and realize he messes up. I'm like what?

It has plot holes, flaws, bad cgi but we had A LOT of fun with this movie. Ezra as Barry did a great job (have to give credit where it's due) and the last scene really made me cry. This ended up becoming somewhat of a guilty pleasure movie when I completely expected to dunk on it, but the criticisms you gave are spot on. It's stupid, but kind of fun and it seems to indulge in that a little too much. If theres any positives I'd defend it'd be the cinematography, pacing (at least for first two acts), and of course the heart and thematics. I actually feel like Batman and Supergirl dying in stupid and unceremonious ways highlights how much of a mess time travel creates. You start to regret how they died and therefore regret the events that put you into that mess. I like the fact Keaton's Batman feels like it could've been any Batman, it adds to unpredictability of changing timelines and it would've felt too coincidental or convenient if Barry just happened to be lucky for encountering this Batman in particular.

To explain the ending(spoilers): After letting go of his mother, Barry stops before leaving to stare at a store security camera. This is why he ends up in another universe having essentially learned nothing.

@@davejony6083 exactly, the ending imo is what kills the movie the most for me(that and just how bad the movie’s opening 30 minutes are). Like it doesn’t work thematically and it doesn’t work logically. But if you think that consideration is bad, this movie presents itself as a multiverse film while also operating under linear timeline logic. That is, unlike in the original flashpoint story where it is explained that Barry’s actions simply created a time “ripple” and he is technically in the “same” universe, this film says he is basically jumping from one universe to another completely different universe through shared points in their history, meaning there should be two Barrys at the end of the movie because in that timeline Barry should have never time traveled in the first place.

The film doesn’t appeal to me and the horrendous writing and CGI makes my reasonings far more valid. Also just because ZSJL is canon to this film doesn’t make it canon to the “SnyderVerse”. Film aside this should be one of the few times we shouldn't separate art from the artist, simply because Ezra Miller is basically being paraded in front of everyone including his victims like "Ha Ha I got away with it" and if this movie succeeds we're basically letting both Ezra and WB get away with it. And if that happens then what right do we have to complain about any celebrity doing wrong, and I get James Gunn seemingly wanting to give Ezra a second chance but James Gunn's crime was an out of date dark joke on Twitter, I'm pretty sure Ezra Miller has a rap sheet full of problems located in a Police Department they are not nor ever will be the same thing.
